Appearing at his third FIFA World Cup, Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas has reached the pinnacle of his profession, enjoying one of the most impressive tournaments of his career and walking away with the adidas Golden Glove as the tournament’s most impressive goalkeeper.

Casillas endured the worst possible start to the tournament against Group H opponents Switzerland, with La Roja conceding a goal against the run of play and falling to a shock defeat. It was not long before the Spain captain's powers of concentration came under question, although he refused to shy away from the cameras, preferring to do his talking on the pitch. Since then Casillas has conceded only a single goal, and that from a deflection against Chile, with his immaculate keeping proving crucial to Spain’s run to the Final.

With Vicente Del Bosque's team winning their last four games on their way to the Final by a single goal, Casillas’s solidity between the posts has taken on even greater importance. Well it's been fun , before it's over entirely some funny business:

Oxo are introducing a new white Oxo cube with a red cross in support of the England team. It's called the Laughing Stock

All future England matches have been moved to the Gay Adult Channel. Apparently the sight of 11 arseholes getting hammered for 90 minutes was far too explict for ITV

So an angry fan managed to get into the England changing room after last nights game. Apparently Robert Green tried to grab the man but missed.

The England team went to visit an orphanage in South Africa this morning. "It is so good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constant struggling and facing the impossible", said Sipho Umboto aged 6.

All these Rob Green jokes are getting out of hand. In fact, they're crossing the line.

Im going to be bold here, and suggest we play Heskey at left back.............left back at Heathrow Airport!!!!

Immediately after Argentina's 4-0 quarterfinal loss to Germany on Saturday, Maradona was understandably upset. And according to Argentina's Deportes y Noticias, he let a group of German fans know it. A translation of their report:

Argentina national team coach Diego Maradona had an altercation with German fans after the end of the match that marked the elimination of said team from the 2010 South Africa World Cup.

Apparently upset over post game celebrations by fans located behind the Argentinean bench, Maradona approached and scolded them, until Dalma, one of his daughters, entered the field and contained him.

It's a shame the man who has entertained us all over the last few weeks with his exuberance and delightful antics had to get involved in something like this. He would go on to say that this loss was "the most disappointing moment in my life" which shows just how devastated he must have been as he walked off the pitch and saw German fans in red and yellow wigs partying like it's Oktoberfest in July right behind him. A sad end for the most interesting man of the tournament. Or anywhere else.
