"Hey...Grace?" Ula called quietly through the door. Knocking gently, she slowly swung it open. All she saw was the back of Grace, her head dropped down. The red-haired girl had her eyes downcast to an old drawing of Daybreak. She wasn't bothering to look out her open window; she wasn't much of a 'sunny' person.
This was the first time anyone would ever see her like this. Usually, she'd be either bored, unimpressed, impatient, or ready to kill something. The emotion she was emitting now was...depressed. It wasn't known by anyone that Renya could experience such things as sadness.
"Ula..." Grace said. "Was anyone watching him?"
"Nobody thought we would need to." she replied lightly. "Seeing as Dragons are dangerous and intelligent creatures in Korham, we thought he'd be fine alone." There was an eerie silence that followed.
Before Ula could even so much as take another breath, something whizzed past her head, and made a good hole in the wall. It was indeed the contacted drawing of Daybreak Grace had drawn who knows how many years ago. "That wasn't just a toss of a simple paper, Ula." Grace informed her, a dark expression suddenly covering her eyes. "I have to use an ability to make that happen. Extraction abilities would bring something towards me. The backwards version sends it away, at whatever speed I choose. That was what made that good hole beside your head there."
Ula glanced nervously to the drawing residing in the wall.
"Whoever it was that stole Daybreak extracted something from him." Grace continued. "Whoever it was, he can copy me. Only he's better at it. At my age, Renya can only extract material things. He extracted something that was not of any material cells. That which was taken from Daybreak, I am estimating, were his instincts."
Ula had no words. How do you extract instincts? she wondered. It was puzzling.
"I have to wait another three months for my extraction abilities to be upgraded. Only now, can I not be compared to our thief."
"We need to retrieve those instincts, then put them back in Daybreak and we're all good?" Ula suggested. "Before that, we need to find our thief, discover what his potential is with those instincts, find the vessel of Daybreak, return the instincts and THEN we're done." Grace corrected her. "For now, we organise a mission with our headmaster."

"You want to what?!" Kouh yelled, slamming his hands down on the desk in anger. "Grace, I know you're very independent and capable of taking care of yourself, and that you're an elite student aswell, but missions are only held in May and November. Some have never been completed, due to the levels of danger."
"How pathetic." Grace hurled back, her expression blank. "One would think that the most dangerous human in Korham would at least finish all of his missions. What even were they?"
"Hunting for dragons in the mountains isn't easy for humans." Kouh answered her. "It's cold, slippery, dangerous, and the dragons aren't at all welcoming. Carrying those hideouts for weeks on end up steep, ragged, rock is tiring. One student almost died on that mission."
"Ever graduated?"
"Yes, last year."
"Well, this mission in mind is certainly nowhere near as dangerous."
"I'm not willing to put my students into such risk again."
"They need to learn about the cruel things in this world."
"I'm not doing it, Miss Gamma."
"Conjure up a team, and we'll do it."
"No."
"You'd rather have me rip this place to pieces on a killing spree and eat all your students alive?"
"When did we come to those terms?!"
"When those terms came to my mind. Set up a team, or I kill everyone here, including you."
Kouh gave Grace an irritated look. Wether he agreed to Grace's demand or not, he was putting his students in danger. The best thing I can do here is not get everyone killed, he thought, taking a deep breath. I'll choose my best students, if it'll make her happy looking for nothing in particular.

"Good afternoon, students." Kouh spoke into a microphone he held just below his chin. Everyone nodded in reply, and took a seat in the hall. Grace stood behind him, her fingers over her mouth, eyes scanning for best students.
"As we all know, missions are held only in May and November. Seeing as it is the end of May, mission slots have been cut recently. However, Miss Gamma, who I expect you all know, requires a mission. Heavens knows why, but we are turning the slots back up."
A gasp of excitement stirred up in the crowd of students.
Kouh continued to quiet them. "Feel free to register and tryout for levels of stamina for missions. As usual, elite students are only aloud to tryout."
"That won't be necessary." Grace cut in.
Kouh whipped his head around to her and gave her his best glare. Grace punched his back in a nerve point, making him flick the microphone into the air. Catching it like a boss, she held it to her mouth and began her part of the speech.
"Slots are not open. Within this short time we have all been here, I have already chosen members for my team. You know what I'm capable of, I can scan human bodies. I have checked everyone's stamina and strength levels."
Another gasp, this time of shock. Nobody knew everything Grace could do.
"Could the following please come up to the stage;" Grace continued after the quietened. "Ula Blue, Earthen Abies and Reddie Vermillion."
Reddie looked up from where he had been staring at an ant crawling slowly across the floor. As he would, he hadn't been paying any attention to Kouh or Grace until he heard his name.

I think we all know that feeling.

"Oh, and also Headmaster, I get to choose the team members, with you as captain of course. I expect that'll keep you happy, at least." Grace said, turning to Kouh as the students walked up to the stage. "Grace, we are not taking mere beginners and mids." Kouh denied, getting angry again.
Grace drew her claws and walked over to a boy in the front row. She held a claw to his chin, making it bleed ever so slightly. She leaned in to begin her meal, the boy sweating from shock. He could see her pearl-white, shark-like teeth getting closer and closer...
"ALRIGHT!" Kouh shouted.
Without looking at him, Grace smiled triumphantly. She straightened back up, and walked back onto the stage. "Thankyou Headmaster." she teased, blowing him a kiss. Kouh glared at her even harder.

It was going to be looooooooong mission, this one.
