I think I understand the hidden meaning of the song "Murdoc is God"!!

Think about it...
"Murdoc is God Murdoc is dead..." If Murdoc is metaphorically both God and Dead, then that means God is Dead. It's a song about losing faith in religion. Also, Murdoc is an important symbol for Atheism, as he is a Satanist. True Satanists are essentially Athiests or Agnostics. They do not actually worship Satan. Satan to them is more of a force of Nature, like Karma or Luck. Obviously, the hard rock sound is representative of Murdoc's musical influences. Not sure about the whole Johnny thing. I'll have to riddle that out. |

Whenever I hear atheist,I don't know why, but I always start playing the song Thoughts of a Dying Atheist by Muse.
2D used to idolize Murdoc right? Therefore, Murdoc is "God"
But then, 2D lost his admiration for Murdoc and developed a strong aversion to the bassist due to all the torture and abuse Murdoc put him through, so therefore he wishes Murdoc was "dead" to him, thus "Murdoc is Dead". However, Murdoc is the self proclaimed leader of Gorillaz, so metaphorically speaking, he is a "King"
Thereore it explains:
Murdo is God
Murdoc is King
Murdoc is Dead
Althought ur answer sounds about right,
Last i heard 2-D still idolizes him even though he has put him though a whole lot of crap.
