I dunno that Dionysus was the God of Wine so much as the God of PARTYAY! ;D
Anyway, I always sort of respected Dionysus. Sure, he was a partier, but he himself never over-indulged, and he had just one significant other to whom he was forever faithful, unlike most Greek gods. He seemed like a pretty good guy, all things considered.
Eros always seemed a bit of a momma's boy to me. Who throws their wife out 'cause his mom doesn't like her?

I agree with flightoffantasy out of all the gods dionysus was even though being the god of wine and parties he was still a loving faithful husband to his mortal wife ariadne,and though I do like eros I agree about the mommas boy thing poor psyche was put through hell to be with eros while ariadne was saved from hell by dionysus when she was abandoned on a island by Theseus so I think I rather be with dionysus if put in that situation.

Dionysus is, for the most part, rather loyal to his wife. I don't know. Eros' powers and story were less loveable in my opinion...

He's a god of love, and I believe in love.
