I knw that many of you hv read the books and watched the Harry Potter series. At first, I liked it very much, but later on, it got really boring to the point I had to force myself to watch tthe movies and read the books. I know that I don't "have" to force myself to do anything, but there was no other way to spend my holidays. One of my friends, who is a Potter fan recommended this series to me and gave me all the movies and books. I finished reading all the movies and also finished reading all the books. At the end, I was really disappointed.
I hate Harry Potter. Now, don't go saying that I don't like Harry Potterbecause I am a Twilight fan. To be honest, I never bothered to even check Twilight. So, no, I am not a Twilight fan. I don't hate or like or dislike Twilight since I never watched or read it before.
Anyway, here's the reasons why I hate and dislike Harry Potter:-
1- Okay, this occured to me when I reached book 5 of the massive series. I noticed that each and every story ends up with Harry defeating Voldemort easily when he attempts to come back. As shown in the Chamber Of Secrets, Harry defeats Voldemort by stabbing Voldemort's diary with with a...

A werewolf, by most common lore, is a human that has been bitten by another werewolf, so said human transforms into a werewolf at full moon. Remus Lupin is a prime example for the fact that we know he was bitten by Fenrir Greyback, a notorious werewolf. Jacob Black is another popular example but I will break that down later in this article. First a VERY important thing you must know is that a werewolf isn't aware of his or her doing while in werewolf form. Remus Lupin was required to leave school grounds every full moon, so he is a true werewolf. Jacob Black, however, is completely aware of his actions as a werewolf. Therefore Jacob Black is not a true werewolf. This article was written from an unbiased point of view and was well researched.

*I used to like Twilight until I started really reading it and it seemed like the more I heard or read into it, the more negative things I would find. This is coming from an unbiased point of view; Me being a fan of Harry Potter has nothing to do with my opinion.

Why I hate Twilight and think it is a bad example of love:
•     Bella is incredibly disrespectful, insensitive, and rude to her own parents. She even calls them by their first names. She thinks her dad is a ‘dumb*** and constantly says he can’t look after himself and she calls her own mother an idiot all because Renee (her mom) was enjoying planning Bella’s wedding. Seriously; It’s quite rude considering they love her and just wants to make sure she is safe and happy.
•    Bella is way too needy, clingy, and dependent on her first boyfriend. Seriously, she doesn’t do anything without consulting him and she wants to be with him FOREVER without really realizing what she’s agreeing to.

I honestly don't hate, dislike, like or love Twilight. It's just neutral with me. I never really had any problem with it until I saw an article saying that Harry Potter copied Twilight. The person who wrote it also went so far as to say that J.K. Rowling is ugly and that Stephenie Meyer is the pretty one. It just irked me, because the looks don't even matter (they're both equal too) and it's not a valid point.

She said something about Sirius Black being copied from Jacob Black - who is commonly described as a big wolf in his werewolf form. And Sirius (she spelled it as 'Serious'. I laughed and I got slightly mad. Oh well) could turn into a dog. So she thought that Sirius Black was created because of Jacob. But being a Potterhead, I know that Prisoner of Azkaban (when Sirius was mentioned) came out on July 8th, 1999, around six years before the first Twilight book (Oct. 5th, 2005).

Even the Prisoner of Azkaban movie came out before the Twilight series started (May 31, 2004). So how can Twilight fans say that Harry Potter copied from Twilight. Please don't say that as it is wrong. I really wouldn't bother you... But I just need to say that the book series...

Let's just get this straight before you go harping on my article because I'm a Twitard. Because I'm not. I'm just getting a little sick of Bella Swan being called "too perfect". She's perfect about to the extent that I am a Twilight fan. Which is to say, not at all.

OK, Let me tell you a story about a REAL Mary-Sue.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Anastasia B. Ana was in 6th grade, she was tiny for the age of ten (she skipped kindergarten), she was absolutely adorable, and she was in Gifted and 7th grade math. Boys all loved her, and she could crochet, knit, and she had perfect handwriting. She could play the clarinet well and she was an avid reader. She was also very religious and sweet, never disrespecting her friends.

Does Bella Swan seem so perfect now? And now let's see what Mrs. Cullen/Swan has to say for herself.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Bella Swan. She was beautiful and all the boys wanted her. She was smart and was horrible to her friends. She could play no musical instrument, and her handwriting is anybody's guess. Her religion is not mentioned enough to stick in my head, and when...

All credits go to Das_Mervin's sporking of the Twilight series: link

I just wanted to cut out this snippet and paste it here because I completely agree here. There is no being that's invincible, no matter how unnecessarily overpowered you make them.
----------------------------------------------------
Meyer thinks that humans are limited to two types of weapons: guns and slow-moving bombs. Oh, Meyer. You silly, silly bitch. There is one thing that we humans have been consistently good at since we first picked up a rock and looked speculatively at that turtle hiding smugly inside of its shell:

We’re really, really good at figuring out how to kill things.

But we don’t like to stop at “kill it dead”. Nah, that’d be boring. We like to figure out inventive ways to kill things. And we like to do it with pizzazz. We like to figure out how we can kill as many things as possible with just one tiny weapon. We like to think up many different kinds of weapons to do the job for us. We also like to see if we can kill just that one...

ok so I found this stupid person listing all the reasons why twilight is better than twilight. so I replied to every single one. and this is her picture:

1. Robert Pattinson, can you say HOT? And he's totally sexy when he sparkles!

So? Hotness has absolutely no correlation to acting ability. He was also in Harry Potter first.

2. Taylor Lautner, I mean, have you SEEN those muscles?

NOT HOT. Strange nose, closed up eyes and no acting ability. That is just my personal opinion. As I said, hotness has no correlation to acting ability.

3. Kristen Stewart. An extremely talented and beautiful actress, with loads of potential.

Ugly and emotionless. No talent whatsoever. IMO.

4. The Volturi. REALISTIC villains, instead of insane freaks in cloaks, like Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

The Volturi wear cloaks too, you dumbass. And they are vampires which isn't anymore realistic than wizards because they are both fictional. Please explain your reasoning on this.

Logical reasons...
why Harry Potter v.s Twilight

*WARNING SPOILERS*

Hi! I'm Cinnominbubble and I have noticed the war between fandoms have been going on for a while with no clear outcome. There is a reason to this-We are stubborn. Twihards want to stick up for Stephanie Meyer, whilst Potterheads want to do the same for J. K. Rowling. But, I have noticed something. Many of our reasonings aren't exactly logical. I mean, not to be offensive, some of our strongest points are downright idiotic!(from both sides) I'd like to come up with some smarter points to help people see our side of the story, whatever that side may be! It would do well to expect more of these in the future because of all the idiocy going around.(Again, not to be offensive)

I am a fan of Harry Potter but I'd like to acknowledge both sides to the story. People will be yelling at me at the end of this, so in advance, I say sorry for anything offensive.

So I have heard/read a LOT of arguments over this topic, and I find it ridiculous. Here are some reasons why they can't be compared with each other:

1- Writing styles. Rowling writes in a descriptive third-person, whereas Meyer writes in a first-person account of a seventeen year old girl. You can't expect Bella to talk like a professional poet of some sort, I doubt many average teenage girls do that.

2- Plot. Harry Potter is mainly about wizards and fighting. Twilight is about Vampires and romance... Totally the same (Major burning sarcasm).

3- Audience. Harry Potter is aimed for children. Before the whole nagging about "It's suitable for everyone" You are liars! Babies cannot read, toddlers cannot read and so many others cannot read. Don't lie. Twilight is mainly aimed at teenagers and young adults.

4- Characters. None of them are alike, not a thing in common. They are all unique in their own ways.

5- Message. Twilight is basically a message of love in all forms (diversity love?). Harry Potter is about friendship.

I cannot stress strongly enough the contempt I have for the franchise of Twilight. Or at least the book. The films are more funny than anything else, and honestly I don't hate any of the cast an crew working on it. Having read the source material, I can see they had little to work with.
Harry Potter, on the other hand... I like. I don't LOVE it; I'm no Potterhead by any means, however much I might have been in the past. But it will always hold a very special place for me. I grew up with the books and films, reading and seeing them years apart from each other - growing up along with the characters I was reading. And that was awesome. So yeah, there's a lot of nostalgia mixed in with my feelings towards the Potter franchise, which Twilight can never hope to have. Having said that, I firmly believe, all nostalgia aside, that the Potter series is superior.

My first reason is in the characters. Now, I have to say, the three main characters in Harry Potter are not my favourites. They're decent enough characters, well developed and all, but they got a bit irritating at times. Now, characters like Neville, Snape and Luna were great characters and are among my favourite...

Harry Potter beats Twilight. Of course. But I really don't like it when HP fans use opinion-ated "facts" when saying WHY Harry Potter is the better movie series. So, I, who am a major Potterhead, put together 7 true, solid, hard, and undeniable facts about certain aspects of the two movie series to prove why Harry Potter is the ultimate series.
**I will only be discussing the movies**

1) Soundtrack

Listen to this wonderful and memorable theme song. As you may have guessed, the theme song belogs to Harry Potter : link

Now listen to this: link
It's pretty, but it doesn't find a special place in your heart like HP's does. (BTW, this isn't one of my 7 facts, but finding just this lilnk took me about 30 min. Doesn't that prove that the majority of audiences prefer HP better, since I found the HP theme song in about... let's see... 2 seconds?)

Here's my response to this rubbish.

1- the writing is better
Um, no. It's really not.

2- the actors/actresses who film the movie are talented
WHAT?! Ok, you're talking about the ecstatic Kristen Stewart, right? The Kristen Stewart who shows so much emotion in every seen of the movies? She looks really excited, huh? She might as well be a mannequin.

3- bella is a role model (she teaches people to hold on to their friendships and stuff and keep their secrets)
Bella is a role model!??!??! Ok, when Edward left bella in New Moon, Bella curled up for months, MONTHS. So that's basically saying that 'when the love of your life leaves you, curl up in a corner and TRY TO FREAKING KILL YOURSELF.'

4-it has a PLOT!!
And Harry Potter doesn't?! Twilight is about a forbidden love triangle or whatever. Frankly, i'm sick of hearing that story over and over and OVER again. It's really old.

5-the scenes in the movies are exciting

Everyone knows Rowling and Meyer's stance on fanfiction and the fact both writers have given a thumbs up of sorts. However, there is something I don't think either one of them would of approve of and it involves those Reading the Books a lot of people are supposedly writing. I say supposedly writing because copying from another persons work is not writing unless you are quoting under fair use. And boy... every single Reading the Books I've come across is not in fair use and constitutes plagiarism. I know how to write one that doesn't constitute plagiarism, but I'll save that until the end.

One of the arguments I've seen is that it is just fanfiction so it doesn't matter if they are committing plagiarism and copyright infringement in their stories because it is just for fun. However, when you publish something to the net it is not just for fun anymore. When a person is found out to have plagiarized the rest of their work will come under question about whether or not it is also stolen or not. That is unless your a really young writer who hasn't yet learned what plagiarism is and then people are more willing to give you a second chance. This is...

The two Bellas: Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter and Bella Swan from Twilight are being compared. These are 50 reasons why I think Bellatrix beats Bella.

1: Most important: Helena Bonham Carts vs. Kristen Stewart... is there really any competition??
2. When people act as if Bellatrix is incapable of doing certain things, it just makes her fight harder. When people act as if Bella is incapable of doing certain things, she becomes all depressed.
3. Bellatrix is exceedingly loyal. For a time, Bella couldn't choose WHO to be loyal to (Edward or Jacob)
4. Bellatrix went into Azkaban for--what was it?-- fifteen years and had to endure the dementors and yet still came out strong. Bella can't even deal with her own boyfriend properly.
5. Bellatrix fought in many duels and won. She was fully capable of fighting for herself, unlike Bella.
6. When someone hurts/insults her lover, Bellatrix can just "Crucio!" them, and doesn't think twice about it. The most that Bella can do when Edward is hurt is scream his name in agony, run towards him and... trip.

If I were to write “Breaking Dawn” (minus the part of the Volturi getting arrested by the police), here’s how it would go:

1. Bella beats up Jake for imprinting on her daughter

2. Volturi get word about Renesmee’s birth and rush off to Forks, bringing an entire army with them

3. Cullens get allies and several people who just flat-out hate the Volturi.

4. Wolves get in on it

5. Big battle ensues and several allies (like Tanya and Rosalie) die

6. Renesmee runs away and hides and Jacob follows her

7. Alice and Jasper show up with SEVERAL half-breeds

8. Volturi freaks out; one fathered a half breed

9. Cullens and allies beat them and kill them

10. Cullens are now the new Volturi; and they rule long and everyone is happy. Plus they change the laws and sign peace treaties with werewolves. vampires everywhere are happy.

11. Renesmee falls in love with a half-breed and breaks Jacob’s heart. He is forced to hook up with Leah, but she later abandons him and their children.

I’ve read many lists pointing out Twilight “Plot Holes”, but more often than not, the lists aren’t very valid at all. Half of them are usually just complaints, pointing out something they don’t like about Twilight (Example:” Why would vampires go to high school?”, or “Why does Bella have so many friends?”). The rest are just factually incorrect, or can be logically theorized. These are usually followed by “Stephenie Meyer obviously ditched history class”, or “Hasn’t Stephenie ever heard of logic?”, or my personal favorite, “I would know, I had a lesson about it in high school.” I don’t really like introductions, so I’ll just get started.

(I’m not saying there are no plot holes in Twilight, but there aren’t as many as so many claim).

1.    Rosalie managed to stay wealthy during the Great Depression because her father was a banker. Basic history tells us that all the banks failed.
Sorry, but wrong.
First off, I want to start by saying that it was never stated that the Hales were well off during the Great Depression because her father worked at a bank. Many put far too...

This is a list of ways Twilight lacks originality. Harry potter did all these things first. Can't you think of an original idea for once, Stephenie Meyer??

1)
*The final Harry Potter movie is the shortest movie of the franchise.
*The final Twilight movie is the shortest movie of the franchise.

2)
*Warner Brothers casted Alan Rickman, a British actor who is 6'1".
*Summit Entertainment casted Robert Pattinson, a British actor who is 6'1".

3)
*Warner Brothers hired a lead actress who was born in April of 1990
*Summit Entertainment hired a lead actress who was born in April of 1990

4)
*JK Rowling is right handed.
*Stephenie Meyer, born 20 years later, is also right handed.

5)
*JK Rowling wrote a book series.
*Stephenie Meyer also wrote a book series.

6)
*Harry Potter characters go to school.
*Twilight characters go to a school.

1. The writing is better

Is it f**k Stephanie Meyers is diabolical and quite frankly paint drying on a wall is more f**king exciting than her writing and compared to Stephanie Meyers writing, J.K Rowling's writing and detail about each and every character even if some of the characters are only briefly mentioned are absolutely genius

2. The Actors/Actresses who film the movie are talented

What a load of bull for one Kristen Stewart can not act the emotion she shows throughout the entire saga is moody, moody and a little bit more of moody and don't get me started on Robert Pattinson he's not that good looking and he looks like he's having a massive struggle with constipation throughout the entire saga and Taylor Lautner sure he's got a hot bod but other than that nothing absolutely blank he's shit he was also shit in Abduction I honestly regret letting my sister talk me into watching it with her

3. Bella is a role model she teaches people to hold on to their friendships and stuff and keep secrets

Everytime I read an anti Twilight article/poll/etc, I see the same point in each.

"Bella is a Mary Sue!"

I don't understand this. The term Mary Sue suggests a perfect person, a person with no flaws, a type of character most people detest reading about. And Bella seems to have been labelled as this a lot. And yet, the same people, who label her as a Mary Sue will complain oh how Bella mistreats her friends, what a coward she is, how dependent on men she is, how silly she is, how whiny she is and the much used: She keeps droning on, and on about Edward!

How does this argument make sense? In one line the writer is stating how perfect she is, the other, how annoying and stupid she is.

Explain to me please?

I made a list of combined and possible plot holes about Harry Potter. Some of them I came up with myself, and some of them I got from different places online. If you can give explanation answering the questions ,do it please.
I purposely put in a few really really picky question because there are a lot of articles about Twilight like this, so I want to see how Harry Potter fans respond to the ridiculously picks questions. I'm not going to tell you which ones they are, but they should be easy to pick out.

1.    Why do the founders of Hogwarts have surnames? Family names weren’t used in Western Civilization until the 19th century, but Hogwarts was founded in the 990s, 10th century. But each of the four founders, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin, all had normal first and last names. Society didn’t even use nicknames or occupational names back then. They only used first names.

I read the twilight saga and i loved it i was a twihard for a while yes, but was more fond of the voltori than anything else, When i read Harry Potter and the philosophers stone, i became addicted in its content, i read the books one by one and read them again, i like twillight, yes, but there is no doubt i prefar Harry Potter, i also read all the Hunger Games Books and was a tribute, still Harry Potter is my life and soul. Jk.rowling has an imagnation unlike many i know, the books depth and detail is unbelivable, i just wish it never had to end, you have to read all the books or you wont fully understand it properly, for there is small details in the earlier books that end up gigantic things in the next, later ones.

Now, i wrote this article because i think the hole ' Harry Potter VS. Twilight ' thing is going to far, some one the horrible and stupid comments and articles about Harry Potter are FAR TOO HORRIBLE STUPID, CHEEKY AND HURTFUL. Thought you might not care, consider what your posting before you post it, because some of it can be very racist and some can make no sense at all!

Before I begin, I’d like to set one thing straight: I’m not against Twilight fans. I respect you and your opinions. I just have different ones. These reasons are opinion and fact mixed together. Please don't disrespect me for my opinions. Also, warning: This will be long.

After completely the Harry Potter series, I looked for the next “big thing.” Being in middle school, the next “big thing” was the Twilight Saga. Sure, why not. I read them through once. I didn’t love it. I didn’t hate it. It was just another book. I never laughed, or cried. It never pulled any emotion out of me in the way Harry Potter did.

After a little break, I decided to reread the books. Maybe this time I would cry when Edward left Bella. Maybe I would laugh when she broke her fist punching Jacob. Maybe I would really think that it was just as good as Harry Potter.

Rereading the books, I did laugh. I wanted to cry. Because I had realized what a literary failure this was. I had realized just why Hermione is so much better than Bella, discovered the reasons that Harry Potter was so much better. I realized the absence of a plot and the fact that characters...

Here is a list of flaws found in Twilight:

1. Quileute Tribe - She added imprinting, which isn't even in their history, as a way to manipulate the relationships and have automatic 'true love' . If I was Quileute I would feel insulted.

link

link

2. Basic Biology - It is stated in New Moon that an ancestor of the Quileute tribe transferred his soul to a real wolf when his earthly body had been destroyed. In Breaking Dawn, Edward reveals that the Quileute tribe are not real werewolves, but shape-shifters. How can it be that this transformation is genetic for the descendants of the tribe?

3. Armed forces of Confederate States of America - "The soldiers of the Confederate armed forces consisted mainly of white males aged between sixteen and twenty-eight." So Jasper should not have had to lie about his age.

Both twilight and harry potter are very successful, especially among teenagers. Some people keep arguing about which is better, though in my opinion, THEY SHOULDN'T BE COMPARED!

Now, i have to admit i love both series! I'd say harry potter is unisex and appropriate for all ages, whilst twilight adresses mainly to teenage girls. HP talks about friendship and love, while twilight is more romantic! Also, hp gives lessons of life, although maybe in some cases, i would prefer reading twilight.

Finally, They are both written by two very talented and imaginative writers, j.k rowling and stephenie meyer. They wrote these books to give teens (and not only) inspiration and time of happiness. So, if you don't like one of these two series, don't blame them! We can't all have the same tastes!
