Why do people hate the couple Dramione (Draco and Hermione)?

First off, Draco doesn't deserve Hermione. Hermione is exceptionally brave, whereas Draco is more of a coward.
Hermione is true to her friends, and very loyal to them, whereas Draco, although he normally hung out with Crabbe and Goyle, would never have been so loyal to them. Personally, I don't even think Draco ever really loved them as friends, or even treated them as his equals. They never disagreed with Draco, and I don't that's because they never had personal differences.
Hermione stood up for the good and for justice, and fought 'til the end. Draco, on the other hand, went over to the dark side, and quit at the last moment, to save his neck.
Draco was very much prejudiced, and treated Hermione as if she were dirt on the sole of his shoes. Hermione and her friends rated others only based on their character, and never used the sort of offensive, derogatory language Draco used for anyone. Nor did they ever pick on another's family background or financial status.
I don't dislike Draco, because he was merely a confused teenager, and not evil or hateful, but with his prejudiced character, and cowardice, he can never equal Hermione.

frist of all draco is too good looking and hot for hermione she my be brainy but it dosent make up for being a MUDBLOOD!!Draco may seem a coward but is brave for doing what he thinks is right which is not to kill albus when hes surrounded by death eaters so relly if you look in my piont of view Draco is way too good for her i thought he might die in the end though i am glad he dident!!

The pairing is extremely delusional and unrealistic. If this relationship EVER happened, I would lose so much respect for Hermione, for the fact that she is pretty much submitting herself to a guy that pretty much threw derogatory insults toward her for so many years. That would be just a like a black woman eventually falling head over heels for a man that called her the "N" word for years and years. Don't see that EVER happening.

The difference between the two punches:
1. Ron and Hermione were friends before she punched him
2. All Ron did was leave her and Harry. He didn't insult Hagrid like Malfoy did.
3. Hermione hated Malfoy, and vice versa. Do you think her punching him would really do any good starting a relationship?

Well, the reasons I hate Dramione are:
-I don't like Malfoy (obviously)
-They are just so unlikely. Yes, I know you're going to call it imagination, dear, but really. Two people that despise each other getting together? If Hermione would fall in love with a guy that called her Mudblood for years and made her and her friends' lives miserable, I would just lose respect for her.
-Personally, I think Hermione is waaay too good for the likes of Malfoy.
-I've been a Ron/Hermione shipper since I started reading the books, so I'm a bit biased, but I still give other reasons.
-The very thought of Dramione makes me sick (though this isn't a reason... -__-)
-Malfoy would be disgracing his family if he married a "Mudblood" like Hermione. He's too proud of his pureblood status to marry a muggle-born. Again, it's super unlikely that they would EVER date/marry. And if someone dare say "it's imagination", I will bite your head off.
-So, I guess severely insulting each other and punching someone means "I love you", right? Hmm, I should call my crush a "Mudblood" and kick him in the shins, then.

I don't. I actually really like them together. :) I know it's not that realistic, but I consider Dramione more of my guilty pleasure pairing than some of the more realistic pairings (like Ron/Hermione and Draco/Astoria, who I actually prefer to Dramione). I just like to use my imagination to answer a lot of "what if" scenarios, and a "what if Draco and Hermione got together" is a very intriguing scenario if you ask me. It's not that I'm being irrational or blind to what Draco did to Hermione despite that fact that he "doesn't deserve her" (which I disagree with), I just like to use my imagination. They're a fun pairing to ship. ^_^

Why do people like it?

Personally, i don't hate Dramione. I've always sort of saw potential between the two and as far as Harry Potter goes its my favorite AU pair. I think people hate it because:
1) It's sort of a threat to Ron and Hermione (or Harry/Hermione if they like that better) which a lot of people have supported since the beginning and have extreme loyalty to.
2)He's always looked down on her because of her heritage and was really mean about it
3) Hermione is "on the good side" while Draco was a Death Eater (but then again he did redeem himself in the end so I dont know if this counts)

I have a bias when I'm writing these so i dont know how true Dramione haters think, but those are the main ones I could think of!

Wow, people are going crazy over this. It all comes down to opinion and I, personally, can't see it happening or it being very convincing in FanFictions or Vids. I may be slightly biased cause I ship Drarry (Yeah, inno, whatever...) which is a similar ship. But hell, why not! I'm sure they'd make a hot couple... :D

I dont know, Im quite fond of the pairing.

As I said before, if Ron leave Hermione and she punch her, that because her loving to him. I have girlfriend and someday, I make her worry so much, and she punch me, why am I not tell her, and why am I make her worry. So, it happen to Hermione and Ron. He leave her with Harry, put them in danger, and when Ron return, she punch him, because she is sad, disappoint, worry, angry and love him. And the end, Ron apologize to Hermione, so do I. It different, when Hermione punch Draco, because Draco is insult Hagrid in third year, and she punch him because she hate. Draco always insult Ron's family and always insult Harry. Do you think, if Hermione along together with Draco, what will happen to Harry and Ron? They will feel betrayed. And so do I.

So, until now, for years, I can't understand actually, what kind of logically pairing Dramione, since J.K Rowling never plans to make them together in the story

5. Would Draco really save Hermione's life if he had a choice? Even after she helped save his?
6. Draco has different- way different- values in life.
7. Hermione slapped Draco in their third year (ah, memories, memories!)
8. Draco is constantly bullying Hermione.
9. Draco's a proud, arrogant pure-blood! He wouldn't touch a "mudblood" to save his life!
10. They HATE each other!!
11. Hermione loves Ron.
12. To him, Hermione is known as "Granger", "that Granger girl", or "filthy little mudblood."
13. To her, Draco is known as "Malfoy".
14. They're just so... different!

we all know draco can be a coward and was the boy who made all the wrong choices but thats the thing 1.he wasn't given that choice if he wanted to be with hermione his father or voldemort would of found out and bang draco is dead and so in a way he was keeping her safe 2 he didn't beleive he had a chice because he was the malfoy heir he had to make sure that the malfoy family continued to bring the next pureblooded heir and on and on.secondly lets me be honest its kind of mainstream having ro and hermione together and i Hate the fact that draco ends up with astoria greengrass who we know nothing about what so ever i mean draco should of at least been with pansy i mean we know she is bitchy and all but we know that her and draco had a thing .so yeah im sorry if you guys are romione or whatever but yeah would it kill you to ligthen up and see the world of dramione

For most, I think the explanation is that they want the pairings they ship to be based on something real, for the couple to be a canon couple or even just like each other - as friends - in canon. It might be too much to imagine Draco changing his mind about pureblood status and loving Hermione so much he'd fight his family's opinion for her, no matter how romantic that scenario might seem. It might be too much given how much they've both hated each other in the past, shown that and treated each other. It might not be enough that the 2 characters are acted by people you might think of as hot/might think look good as a couple.

For starters, Draco is a vehement anti-muggle-born ANYTHING, while Hermione has muggle parents. Fundamentally believing that someone is inherently inferior and/or worthless compared to you is a HUGE no-no to healthy relationships, since every good relationship requires both parties to respect the other.

Maybe everyone is having strong reasons to hate them.
But after Ron and Hermoine they are my favourite couple as well :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don't hate anyone, nor I'm saying that any character is 100% flawless, of course not, but there's a reason for that.

Draco resents Hermione, he has no respect for her at all, no more than she has for him. Well of course he lost his prejudices in the end but that didn't change anything in their relationship. They simply "made peace" with each other, but this civil formality didn't go further.

There's a difference between teasing and bullying. Teasing and slight conflicts may grow into love (Ron/Hermione) but never bullying and insulting behavior!

Joanne said herself in one interview that seeing love in such a dysfunctional connection is theoretically "romantic but unhealthy."

I love harry potter and honestly my childhood would be ruined if a strong female character like hermione ended up with up draco, someone who called her horrible things and believed that her race should be eliminated.
to be completely honest most people only ship it because emma and tom are attractive cast members.

The thing is people love it BECAUSE of how different they are. They find it interesting how complete differences could duke it out you know? Honestly in my opinion, I think it's beautiful.
