If I was a character in Harry Potter, I'd be a Metamorphogus by the name of Mildred Grundy. She's a crabby old woman, who at her time at Hogwarts was in Ravenclaw house. Mildred would have been in Slythern for her cunning state of mind, but she is Muggle-Born. Nevertheless, she is extremely clever and despises anyone who doesn't dress in corduroy - especially hipsters.
She doesn't have any children, but Argus Filch is her nephew who visits in the summer holidays.

Mildred's favourite activities are complaining and gardening. She also enjoys root beer.

Okay, I'm going to use my name (nickname, actually, despite how childish it is) and be a little bit more realistic here.

The character would be a girl called Razz (I'm not choosing a last name), preferably, going by dates, started Hogwarts long after the Second Wizarding War. It would be difficult to place her in either Gryffindor or Slytherin, but judging by what her goals are intended to and what she wishes to achieve with her ambitions, and her desire to obtain fame, Slytherin would be her House (and also the slight trait of cunningness aids in that decision, despite a few attributes suited to Gryffindor and perhaps even Hufflepuff). She would be a Half-Blood; a father with Pure-Blood ancestors/relatives and a mother with a few Muggle relations; in that way, she feels as though she has the best of both worlds, even if her House does not agree with anything Muggle related. She is not prejudiced against Muggles or Muggle-borns as her mother comes from that linage, and does not obtain any form of dominance or pre-eminence over this class. Power is not her goal; achieving goals in creativity and fame is her ambition, even if it must supplant others seeking the same passion. She would marry long in her middle ages, perhaps with a half-blood, and children would be a bonus to her goals, and if she must have them, she'd birth a minimum of two.

Although being Slytherin, her personality is a lot like the Weasley Twins in mischievousness. She does see these two as exemplars in her childhood, as she enjoys pranks and mischief. She is not too intellectual, and achieves average grades. Her favourite subject would be Defence Against the Dark Arts due to her esoteric passion for the Dark Arts (and this is the closest to learning of it without indulging in the Dark Side; therefore, she would not be a Death Eater, even though Voldemort was dead long before). She is neutral, and does not pick a side between Pure-blood supremacy and Muggle-Born revolt.

Yay, I love these questions. I have a fanfic in progress for both of my characters and sometimes I act like them in public. Who am I kidding? I always am street performing somebody, usually these guys. Erm, girls. Okay, here we go:

Scarlett Hempstock: Half-blood in SLytherin, her mother was a witch from Ravenclaw and strongly encourages her daughter to be the best she can be in magic, while on the other hand, her father is a muggle who DESPISES the thought of magic and on the day Scarlett receives her letter, leaves and has nothing to do with her. Scarlett doesn't know this, and lives in the shame of not being good enough for him. She has an extreme natural talent for potions, and Snape takes her into private training every so often because there's something he sees in her, nothing like any other student before. (By the way, this is after the war, and he has been erm, reincarnated by an ancient form of magic and natural power that has rarely been tapped into before, so he is alive and well) I'm not quite sure who she grows up to be or marries, but I'm leaning towards no one, instead works along side Severus as a Potions teacher.

Carling: Female. Straight outta Hogwarts when our story starts. She was a very ambitious Slytherin, almost stereotypical. She was a dear believer in Voldemort's goals, and she was one of the people who convinced the Slytherin house to fight with him. Dear Carling is related to the house of Black, if you go back a few generations to Lysandra Yaxley and Arcturus. Anyway, she is met by a post- war Lucius Malfoy. He has changed, after his wife being murdered and his son off to live his own life. Of course, she does not want to get out of the snow and go to his manor, because she thinks she'd be the replacement of his beloved snake-cane when it comes to erm, you get it. (If you don't, that's probably good, I have a sick mind ;) So, they end up marrying, but do not have kids. Carling is very talented at Dark Arts and DADA, even a bit in ancient potions. She is a skilled duelist and very talented at non-verbal and wandless magic, also, thought she tends not to show it. (She's absolutely horrid at apparation. Horrid. Just horrid.)

I have never made an oc or imagined i was in that world. But i'll try to think of something.

I'd be a guy, maybe named Fell Dragseth (stupid,right?) He was a muggleborn who got into Ravenclaw, but was considered for Slytherin. Maybe was around during Harry's parents time in hogwarts. Specialized in mental magic and art (after hogwarts he became a painter of moving portraits, and occasionally assisting the ministry with occlumency charms) He had a crush on Lupin, but never told him and only watched him from afar. He was not very good in potions class and ended up damaging his eyes. Was introverted and studious, and he didn't like people from Gryffindor or Slytherin because he thought their feud was incredibly overdramatic and obnoxious. Dumbledore was his favorite teacher.
He never married, but did adopt some orphans. Boys Demetrius and Lycaon, and a girl named Katelyn. He was one of the casualties of Voldemort's second rise to power. He was put under the imperius curse and used to infiltrate the ministry for information. And once he fulfilled that purpose he was disposed of.

Her patronus and Animagus form are both snow leopards, as were her father's. Has inherited her paternal family's house elf, named Kiki, who works at Hogwarts. Muggle mother, pureblood father named Mark Prewett (he was a distant cousin of Molly Weasley and her brothers) who was killed by Bellatrix near the end of the First War.
