New from J.K. Rowling

Clothings..

Wizards at large in the Muggle community may reveal themselves to each other by wearing the colours of purple and green, often in combination. However, this is no more than an unwritten code, and there is no obligation to conform to it. Plenty of members of the magical community prefer to wear their favourite colours when out and about in the Muggle world, or adopt black as a practical colour, especially when travelling by night.

The International Statute of Secrecy laid down clear guidelines on dress for witches and wizards when they are out in public.

When mingling with Muggles, wizards and witches will adopt an entirely Muggle standard of dress, which will conform as closely as possible to the fashion of the day. Clothing must be appropriate to the climate, the geographical region and the occasion. Nothing self-altering or adjusting is to be worn in front of Muggles.

In spite of these clear instructions, clothing misdemeanours have been one of the most common infractions of the International Statute of Secrecy since its inception. Younger generations have always tended to be...

J.K. Rowling's thoughts

This is a personal expression, which has nothing to do with tales of the dead.

Over the seventeen years that I planned and wrote the seven Harry Potter books (not to mention Quidditch through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Tales of Beedle the Bard), I generated a mass of information about the magical world that never appeared in the books. I liked knowing these things (which was fortunate, given that I couldn't stop my imagination spewing it all out) and often, when I needed a throwaway detail, I had it ready because of the background I had developed.

I also found myself developing storylines for secondary (or even tertiary) characters that were superfluous to requirements. More of a wrench were the plots I worked out for some much more important characters that had to be sacrificed for the bigger story. All of these I inwardly termed 'ghost plots', my private expression for all the untold stories that sometimes seemed quite as real to me as the 'final cut'. I have occasionally been in conversation with a reader and made mention of part of a ghost plot; looks of consternation cross their...

News from J.K. Rowling

Petunia and Vernon Dursley

Harry's aunt and uncle met at work. Petunia Evans, forever embittered by the fact that her parents seemed to value her witch sister more than they valued her, left Cokeworth forever to pursue a typing course in London. This led to an office job, where she met the extremely unmagical, opinionated and materialistic Vernon Dursley. Large and neckless, this junior executive seemed a model of manliness to young Petunia. He not only returned her romantic interest, but was deliciously normal. He had a perfectly correct car, and wanted to do completely ordinary things, and by the time he had taken her on a series of dull dates, during which he talked mainly about himself and his predictable ideas on the world, Petunia was dreaming of the moment when he would place a ring on her finger.

When, in due course, Vernon Dursley proposed marriage, very correctly, on one knee in his mother's sitting room, Petunia accepted at once. The one fly in her delicious ointment was the fear of what her new fiancé would make of her sister, who was now in her final year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry....

Just as British witches and wizards do not use electricity or computers, they have never turned metric. They are not governed by the decisions of the Muggle government, so when the process of metrication (switching to metric measurements) began in 1965, witches and wizards simply ignored the change.

Witches and wizards are not averse to laborious calculations, which they can, after all, do magically, so they do not find it inconvenient to weigh in ounces, pounds and stones; measure in inches, feet and miles; or pay for goods in Knuts, Sickles, and Galleons.

Number Four, Privet Drive

J.K. Rowling's thoughts

The name of the street where the Dursleys live is a reference to that most suburban plant, the privet bush, which makes neat hedges around many English gardens. I liked the associations with both suburbia and enclosure, the Dursleys being so smugly middle class, and so determinedly separate from the wizarding world. The name of their area is 'Little Whinging', which again sounds appropriately parochial and sniffy, 'whinging' being a colloquial term for 'complaining or whining' in British English.

Although I describe the Dursleys' house as big and square, as befitted Uncle Vernon's status as a company director, whenever I wrote about it I was unconsciously visualising the second house I lived in as a child, which on the contrary was a rather small three-bedroomed house in the suburb of Winterbourne, near Bristol. I first became conscious of this when I entered the number four Privet Drive that had been built at Leavesden Studios, and found myself in an exact replica of my old house, down to the position of the cupboard under the stairs and the precise location of each room. As I had never...

Dear

Thank you very much for your letter addressed to J.K.Rowling. We receive many letters from young people who ask Ms. Rowling how to become a writer and ask about her inspirations.

As you can imagine, the great popularity of Harry Potter and his author have resulted in extraordinary demands on Ms. Rowling's time. The flood of letters reaching put to Ms. Rowling is truly overwhelming. Much as Jo Rowling wishes she could respond to each and every request, it is not humanly possible. She has asked us to respond to her many fans and then forward all the letters she recieves.

Jo Rowling tells young people that one of the best ways to become a writer is to read many types of literature and practice your writing. You can find out more about Ms. Rowling and how she came to write the Harry Potter series on her website: [u]link

I am enclosing a photograph of the author. Please accept it with our compliments as a token of appreciation of your support of Harry Potter.

Dear Friend,

Firstly, let me say that although this is a form response, there is a very good chance I read your letter; I always look through the mail, but I receive so much these days that unfournately it is not possible to answer everything individually. Nevertheless, it means the world to me that Harry Potter fans take the time and trouble to write and share their thoughts, feelings and life experiences, their favourite characters and parts of the books, not to mention my involvement with the films, Harry has been, and continues to be, one of the most important things in my life.

If you have seen Deathly Hallows Part II, I hope you agree that it was the best of the series! The premiere was one of the most emotional nights of my life. Amid all the sadness of the film series ending, however, I meant what I said on the red carpet; whether you choose to come back to the page or the screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.

You might know that I have been spending a lot of time on a project called Pottermore.com, which is a website where the Harry Potter stories have come to life in a completely new form! By joining...

Warner bro's and j.k Rowling have decided to let peple come to the Harry Potter studios ,where there is hogwarts ,diagon alley, hosmeade and anywhere else in the wizarding world . They show you how they do all the efects like how the brooms fly,the night bus and more.

They wanted hogwarts to look very real so they encouraged all the actors and actresses to carve their initials into the benches in the great hall and they hit the plates with a hammer to give them an authentic look.

I will be going to harry potter world so i will tell you how it was.

P.S I am not talking about the one in orlando this one is in london and it's the ACTUAL studio

On a frosty night, in the dungeon of Hogwarts castle dwelled a sarcastic, bat-like potions master by the name of Severus Snape.

Most of us here love him, or at the very least, like him. Though I know I liked him from the very beginning when his sarcasm began to show, I also know many of his dedicated fans hated him at that time - for bullying Harry.
But, we ask ourselves, why did his fans forgive and love him? This question is rather simple and the answer is without a doubt. Because of his unconditional love for Lily. And, we also ask ourselves, why do we find his love for Lily touching? Because of how he loved her unconditionally, from beginning to end. Because of how he put down his life for her.
But in it, there is one vital thing we may have never thought about: his love is unrequited. His unrequited love is the main reason his love story is so touching; the rest of his sacrifices for Lily merely support that fact.

Let me explain. What if Severus Snape was a tortured young boy who fell in love with his best friend Lily? But what if Lily had fallen in love with him as well? They would get together and marry and Severus Snape would likely...

2. Rupert Grint, the actor who plays Ron Weasley owns his own ice cream but cannot legally sell ice creams because he doesn't feel like doing the paper work

3. During filming one of the breakfasts at Hogwarts, Daniel Radcliffe gave all his bacon to a 10 year old because he wa sick of having to eat it again and again.

6. To get into The Ministry Of Magic you have to dial 62442 to get in the visitors entrance. This spells out Magic.

7. J.K Rowling nearly put Dudley with a magical child but decided that no magical blood would have survived contact with the Dursley's DNA.

Once again the response I got to the last chapter was amazing, I can’t believe it. This Chapter won’t be as long as it’s a sort of filler chapter to link things together; I really hope you enjoy this. Tell me what you think!!
Chapter 6
Draco rushed towards his door, not really knowing what he was doing. It was that sound, the sound that had tortured his own ears for so long that was the problem; he knew where it was coming from and that why he was scared. As his bedroom door swung shut behind him he noticed the wall ahead was opening, creating an archway and corridor beyond. At the end he saw a door. A door that was opened slightly, no light shone through but the sound came from within. The screams of the Gryffindor girl he had grown up being made to hate.

It was obviously the Castle, giving him a way to get to her, stop what was happening to her. He didn’t think about it really, he just ran. She wasn’t his friend, but she wasn’t his enemy either. Right now he just needed to stop the noise, it was bringing back the memories, he would hear these screams at all hours of the day, the innocent people being brought into his house, back then he had...

HOGWARTS STAFF
Headmaster Albus Dumbledore: His first name is from the Latin word alba, "white." His last name, according to Rowling interviews, is Old English for "bumblebee." In colour symbolism, white often stands for purity, so the headmaster's name suggests honour and a hard-working nature ("busy as a bee").
Professor Binns: A bin is a large storage container. A dustbin is British English for a garbage can. This boring professor could be described as a ghostly storage for information that many Hogwarts students view as rubbish.
Headmaster Armando Dippet: Armando is from the name Armand, "of the army." Dippet is not a word in English, but dip has many meanings, including: (1) to put something into something else, often a liquid; (2) to take something out of something, as in dipping out water; (3) to lower and raise something; (4) a fool.

Argus Filch: In Greek mythology, Argus the All-Seeing was a man with 100 eyes on his body, who gained a reputation as a great watchman. The goddess Hera asked him to watch a priestess, Io, who had been turned into a heifer, or young cow, because she had fallen in love with Hera's husband, Zeus. However,...

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, better known as simply "Dumbledore" died in June of 1997. He was 116 years old.

Dumbledore is one of the most dynamic Harry Potter characters. He had great accomplishments, and terrible failures. He's known for many things, for discovering the 11 uses for Dragon Blood, defeating Grindelwald and of course being the Headmaster at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He also found and destroyed one of Voldemorts horcruxes by himself.

However, there were moments in his life that weren't nearly as bright. When he was a young adult, he became obsessed over finding the "Deathly Hallows", along with his friend Grindelwald who would later turn evil.

His mother died, and Dumbledore was the eldest of the children, so it was his job to watch his sister, Ariana Dumbledore. Ariana was not a squib, but she never had control over her magic because muggle boys attacked her after they spotted her using magic at a young age. Dumbledore was caught up in the Deathly Hallows, and he wanted to travel around the world to find them with his friend, Grindelwald. One day when Grindelwald came over, Aberforth,...

"We've all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are."
-Sirius Black

So...Malcolm X chooses to kill a person this year, and according to Sirius it is who Malcolm X REALLY is. And when Malcom X later genuinely regrets the kill and chooses to save a life next year, according to Sirius it also is who Malcolm X REALLY is. No, wait...What? Decide already, Sirius! Is Malcolm's true self light or dark, is he really a good guy or a bad guy?! What about his feelings during and right after the killing? Do those not matter at all for the person he really is?

As in, I don't fully agree with Sirius.

1. Yes, we've all got both light and dark inside of us and what matters is which part we choose to act on.

2. Yes, our choices make us who we are.

3. But who we REALLY are, does not that simply walk hand in hand with our choices between dark and light.

I created this so I can tell why GoF is my favorite Book and Movie, first of all the Graveyard scene, I love it cause it’s the moment when Voldemort comes back (and NO I don't like him) I loved it cause with out Voldy there's no HP, second of all I loved the Triwizard Tournament, it was amazing I loved all three tasks, there was a lot of action in them and that's why I loved them^^, not to mention there were Dragons in it. Third of all The Yull Ball, it was really awesome indeed I loved Hermione's dress in the book (loved the movie dress too though). Fourth of all, Mad-Eye Moody loved that character. Fifth of all I loved Veritaserum, you may ask why I'd love it, I actually liked the scene when Barty Crouch Jr. tells how he killed his father and how he got out from Azkaban and how his mother was willing to take the chance to go to Azkaban for her son …etc, I also would like to say that the Penvies was pretty interesting but to tell the truth I loved it more in the books I really felt sorry for Barty Jr. he looked innocent, and I felt sad when he was begging not to go to Azkaban, while in the movie he...

~Before I start, I just want to give some credit to LifesGoodx3 for giving me the idea for this article.~

Now, if you know me you probably know that Rose Weasley is my favorite character of all-time. Now, I know that's HIGHLY uncommon because no one knows about Rose or any of the New Generation kids until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. So, in this article, I'd like to show you why Rose is my favorite character. Well, first off, we never see Rose do much because she only comes in the bitter end of Deathly Hallows and we don't see her in any scenarios and how she would react. But, I think she'd be a very interesting character. In the one scenario where we do see Rose, Ron (her father) is telling her that if she dosen't get into Gryffindor that Hermione and him will 'disinherit her.' Of course, Rose didn't keep her cool and freaked out, but I think that somewhere along the way to Hogwarts that she decided to be cool and collected about it. I mean, if she DID inherit Hermione's brains, she would know that her father was joking. I also think that she would've heard her mother and Ginny tell Ron 'Ron!' clearly indicating that Hermione and Ginny wouldn't...

In these articles, I'll be taking you back in time, to when the movies began. I'll show you how they did it and why.
First up, a quick look at the immaturity of a twelve-year-old boy.
The following is a direct quote.

"We did a lot of pranks. Once Daniel Radcliffe brought in a remote-controlled whoopee cushion. He tried it on me, but it didn't quite work. Then he tried it on someone else who was going to sit down on a massive sofa. When it went off, Chris Columbus said, 'Cut! What is that thing?' and everyone burst into laughter. Dan pulled other pranks too--like making little labels that said 'Kick me' or 'Punch me.' He would stick them on the backs of everyone who came into sight. It was really good."
Emma Watson, 2002

Classic. Who knew that people still fall for the "Kick me" signs? I sure didn't. I'm a bit scared to think of the pranks pulled in the later years.

Year 3
I'll be switching between POV's like last time.

Scorpius POV
I waved to Hagrid, who was lugging in a GIANT Christmas tree for The Great Hall. "Ello, Scorpius." he grunted, his hands much too occupied to wave back. "Have you seen Rose, Hagrid?" I asked. I had been searching for her most of the day, as I wanted to say bye to her before she left for home. "Not today... You migh' wanna check th' mistletoe bunches. She migh' o' gotten stuck under one." he replied, lumbering off with the gargantuan tree. The mistletoe bunches! Why hadn't I thought of that? The bunches are enchanted so that you  aren't able to get away from them until you are kissed. Lily had gotten stuck under one the other day, until Lysander freed her with a quick kiss. She had been blushing like mad, and threatened to punch anyone who told. I jogged down the closest hall, my eyes peeled for mistletoe. I saw one almost immediately, and saw a familiar head of thick ginger hair under it. "Hey Rose." Her head swiveled, a glare on her face. Once she saw it was me, her eyes flitted up to the mistletoe, and then back to me, a blush spreading across her face, all...

Guys, this is for those of you who enjoy reading/support Ron&Hermione Pairing.

Sixth Year
Hermione's POV

Oh, I wanted to punch her. Right then and there, and shove her to the floor for good measure. I'm talking about Lavender Brown, who had her lips pressed against the one person I loved enough to feel immediate hatred for her. Ron. I wanted to do horrible things to her. Instead, I stood there in shock, tears welling up in my eyes. Harry turned to face me, and I turned away, running towards my dormitory. I slammed the door, which made not even a dent in the sound that was coming from downstairs. Why are you doing this to me, Ron? Why? I thought, my tears flowing freely. I flopped onto my bed. I needed time to think. But, instead I cried myself to sleep, my thoughts trained only on Ron and Lavender, and my intense, burning hatred for her.

Next Day
I walked the halls alone. It was Saturday, so I had no books to carry with me. I was in a completely deserted hallway, and then Ron appeared out of nowhere. He was alone as well, and from his expression, he had been looking for me.
