Some Harry Potter fans might disagree with me, but... THE NEWEST MOVIE SUCKED!!!! Sorry to say this but it did. It was a lot shorter than all the others, there was almost no plot, and almost nothing happened the whole movie. All they accomplished in the movie was to find the initials of some guy. I hope the next one does a lot better than that one. Although I suppose Dumbledore dying was an interesting thing that happened. The only good thing that came out of that movie was that it progressed the story. Other fans should agree with me, and if they don't it would surprise me. I am a long time Harry Potter fan. I have all the movies and I have seen all of them in the theaters, and I have all the books. I'm not saying I am no longer a Harry Potter fan or I don't look forward to the next movie, but if you haven't seen the movie stick to the book.

The Harry Potter Series is wonderful thing. It is a world full of magic that just sparks your imagination. All the creatures are magical and wonderful. The series is full of adventure and romance. I love Harry's character. He has lost his parents, he sometimes feels emotionally challenged, and there is a small dark side to him. It really brings out the mystery in the story. It is an ongoing plot that is a continuing struggle with Lord Voldemort, and every time they think that they've caught him he escapes. I own all the books and have seen all the movies in the theaters. It is full of suspense and action. I think the biggest mystery right now is who will Harry end up with. He has gone through a variety of girls that he likes, although he has always been wavering on the thin line between another girl and Hermione. I guess if you've already read the books you know, but I'm not going to spoil the surprise.

During the Slughorn home's scene, Dan and David voice how good of a scene it is in the fact that it introduces the world of magic.

On David Yates' view on making the films: Dan said that Yates has the ability to see the entire film just from one still.

On Alan Rickman, David said he loved his eyebrows, while Dan loves his dry sense of humour.
Dan loved Lupin as a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher and even noted that David Thewlis gave him tutoring lessons on Twelfth Night.

On Bellatrix: Dan thinks Bella is childlike and also evil; David said that you look in her eyes and she feels a little bit out of control. Dan stated that he's become a bit like Helena Bonham Carter's personal assistant on the set of Deathly Hallows, in that he's constantly picking up after her.

Dan and David were gushing over the quality of the Half-Blood Prince Blu-ray (it was the first time Dan used it). Dan noted that Emma's image on Blu-ray is her only competition in terms of beauty.

Ways To Humiliate, Annoy or Infuriate Ronald Weasley.
(These work best if you are a Slytherin.)
1. “DAYWALKER!”
2. Give him Clearasil wipes for his birthday.
3. Paint his room maroon when he isn’t looking.
4. Tell him Emerson’s considering making a move on Hermione, then look sympathetic and explain that you understand why he’s threatened, Emerson’s so... so...*dreamy sigh*
5. Depending on how badly he takes it and how funny you think it is, repeat number 4 with Harry/Draco/Dean/Michael Corner/Lockhart/Crabbe/Goyle/Snape/Sirius/any random boy or girl from Hogwarts, every few hours.
6. Nicknames and lots of them. Carrot top, Ginger nut, Duracell and Ginger Minger being but a few.
7. Write them in big letters all over the school.
8. “Weasley Is Our King”- the Slytherin version, of course, off key in the middle of the Great Hall.
9. “You know what they say; a little owl means a little... brain...”
10. Tell him that, even though his Mummy loves Harry better, you’ll always be there as a shoulder to cry on.

– In the film, Harry begins to take private tutoring lessons with Dumbledore, who shows him various memories of young Voldemort.

– Romance is a theme of the movie, with Harry drawn to Ginny Weasley and Ron attraction the attention of Lavender Brown.

– Jessie Cave, who plays Lavender Brown, beat more than 7,000 girls to win the role. It is her first major film role.

– Robert Knox, who plays Marcus Belby, was stabbed to death days after filming wrapped.

-Stars of the film are set to wear white ribbons to the premiere in honour of Knox.

– Hero Fiennes-Tiffin plays the young Voldemort/Tom Riddle. He is the nephew of Ralph Fiennes, who plays adult Voldemort/Tom Riddle.

– While David Yates insisted Fiennes-Tiffin did not get the role because of his uncle, he admitted the family resemblance was "a clincher".

– The new film marks the fifth and sixth actors to play Voldemort – In the Philosopher's Stone, he was played by Richard Bremmer and Ian Hart; Chamber of Secrets he was portrayed by Christian Coulson; Ralph Fiennes plays the adult Voldemort, and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and...

20. Follow him around and say "Voldemort is your uncle!" in a loud voice right next to his ear.
19. Ask him if the "anvil-sized hints" ever hit him on the head, which is really what caused the scar.
18. "So... first you were the Boy Who Lived.. then you were a nutcase... now you're The Chosen One. Why don't they just add it together so that you're the "Chosen Nutcase Who Lived?"
17. Offer him stolen silver from Sirius Black's house.
16. Make sure you tell him you got it from Mundungus Fletcher.
15. Tell him that he should stop pretending to be Harry Potter and to wipe the fake scar off his head.
14. Follow him around wearing shirts that say, "I'M WITH THE CHOSEN ONE!"
13. Buy him one that says, "THEY'RE WITH THE CHOSEN ONE!" and get really offended when he doesn't wear it. Be sure to tell him you made it yourself.
12. Ask if he knows whether Voldemort had any scars and if so, where are they?
11. Everytime you see him, say "Do you like Luna Lovegood?" in a sing-song voice.

I knew it was coming, this day. This day where the pilfered garbage known to much of the world as the Twilight saga would beat out all the other franchises, including Batman, Lord of the Rings, and, of course, our fandom of Harry Potter. According to a recently published Yahoo article, New Moon is accounting for 94% of Fandango and Movieticket.com's ticket sales as of now. This is highly disturbing, showing that humanity cannot even recognize good literature and film even when its presented to them on a silver platter, these of course being Harry Potter, the Dark Knight, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy who have all now sunk in pre-sale ticket rankings.

Thus, when the time rolls around in October 2010 when presumably the pre-sale tickets for Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be available, I urge you to purchase them! Encourage your friends, family, and loved ones. Even those who have just thought about getting into the series, make sure they go. I will not stand for these atrocious Twilight films becoming number one for many reasons which I'm sure many of you are very familiar with. Let's show those ignorant masses that our fandom is a force that they cannot toss aside....

Purdy Wands. :)
While browsing on the official J.K.Rowling I discovered a few intresting facts (For example Rowling used to smoke, Harry and Dudley are on "Christmas Card" terms, etc, etc)

I found out a little tibit on wands and it made me pathetically happy. Rowling based wands on the date of the characters birth date according to the Celts that assigned trees to different dates.

Soooo if you like you can see which wand wood is yours:

December 24 - January 20 = Birch
January 21 - February 17 = Rowan
February 18 - March 17 = Ash (Same as Ron's!!)
March 18 - April 14 = Alder (Fearne)
April 15 - May 12 = Willow (Same as Lily Potter!!)
May 13 - June 9 = Hawthorn (Same as Draco!!)
June 10 - July 7 = Oak (Same as Hagrid!)
July 8 - August 4 = Holly (Same as Harry Potter...and Me!!)
August 5 - September 1 = Hazel
September 2 - September 29 = Vine (Same as Hermione!)
September 30 - October 27 = Ivy
October 28 - November 24 = Reed

The 20-year-old actor has spent £3.76 million on a building on West 12th Street that was built by a sea captain for one of his daughters in 1847.

It means he now owns a £10 million property empire in the Big Apple as well as a flat in Fulham, west London.

With five bedrooms, Radcliffe’s new town house measures 3,000sq ft and includes a 39ft long garden.

A Sotheby's brochure said: “The property is on one of New York's most picturesque tree-lined landmark cobblestone blocks.”

Radcliffe's first New York purchase was two years ago – a £3.2 million fifth-floor apartment in the SoHo district.

A few months later, he paid just over £3 million for a three-bedroom apartment with views across the Hudson River.

Radcliffe, who is about to open in a role on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, is canny when it comes to money.

Rumoured to have a fortune of around £20 million, Radcliffe once said: "The things I like buying are things that cost about £7."

AFTER eight years as the boy wizard, Daniel Radcliffe speaks tells Charles Miranda and Lachlan Cartwright why he still loves Harry Potter.

HIS last film may have entertained millions of fans worldwide and grossed more than $1 billion, but don't for a moment mention the word blockbuster to Daniel Radcliffe.

"I hate that word so much,'' the 19-year-old actor says.

"Blockbusters - it's horrible because you think of this week's blockbusters, but it's just crap and it makes it sound like another action movie or just some other crowd pleaser.''

Blockbuster or not, in July the British actor will appear again on the big screen as the bespectacled boy wizard in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and no doubt have fans queuing around the block of the cinema to see him.

The Harry Potter phenomena has been as much about the success of the J.K. Rowling series of books as it has the movie series that now spans eight years and each year attracts legions of new fans.

We don't have a set date for when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open, but today from Orlando, Florida, Universal Studios confirmed that the park would be opening in Spring of 2010. The three main rides that will be found there are Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge. On Flight of the Hippogriff you can interact with Hagrid as you learn to fly a Hippogriff. Dragon Challenge will recreate the first task of the Triwizard tournament and you can fly either a Hungarian Horntail or a Chinese Fireball Dragon.

Some other places that will be found at the park are: Ollivander's Wand Shop, Owl Post, Dervish and Banges, Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes, Zonko's and Filch Emporium.

Ok, yesterday I answered a question in the "Answers" area asking "Do you think Ginny is a Mary Sue?" and it got me thinking. Here is my answer.

No, I do not think Ginny Weasley is a Mary Sue. For one, I don't think she is "too ostentatious for the audience's taste, or that the author seems to favor the character too highly." In my point of view, other than the fact that Ginny ends up with Harry, she really doesn't seem to be favoured. I don't know very much about J.K. Rowling as a person, but again, apart from the fact that they are both female, nothing jumps out at me that would indicate that Ginny is a proxy for the author. This would dispel the idea of self-insertion.

When it comes to the character having mystical powers, most of the characters in the Harry Potter series do. (The same goes for exotic pets.) Although, Ginny DOES cast a mean bat-bogey hex... That aside, I believe there are other characters that would better fall into the stigma of Mary Sue (or Marty Sue). For instance, we have Hermione. Muggle-born and pretty much the most brilliant witch of her year. Who wouldn’t want to be in her place? (This does not change...

Harry Potter's latest cinematic adventure is already breaking box-office records, as the boy wizard encounters murder, betrayal and heartbreak at a theater near you. But a very different danger is plaguing his fans in cyberspace — where hackers are using the blockbuster to cast a spell on computers worldwide.

"It's definitely the most targeted film that we've seen," explained Michael Greene, VP of Product Strategy at PC Tools, whose virus fighters have been hard at work battling "Harry Potter hackers" over the last few weeks. "This is pretty scary stuff."

Here's how it works: These days, millions of people are searching the Web for info on "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," which is certain to become the #1 film in the country. Knowing this, cybercriminals are using search optimization tactics to target popular sites like Digg.com with headlines like "Watch 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' online free!" and comment posts filled with related keywords to attract Google. Seeing professional-looking images from the film, Potter fans are convinced that the movie is one click away — but as they keep clicking, a virus is being installed on...

The Hogwarts kids aren't getting a summer vacation. Daniel Radcliffe and his crew of young wizards and witches have been jetting across the globe to promote "Harry Potter" film #6 — "The Half-Blood Prince" — and when they return to the U.K., they'll pick up filming the two-part franchise finale, "Deathly Hallows."
Away from the film set, though, and settled into their spree of red carpets and media interviews, the cast and crew were able to reflect on how they plan to bring a rewarding end to the decade-long film series and which "Deathly Hallows" scenes have them sweating under their school uniforms (beware of spoilers below!).
"The final walk into the forest is what I'm kind of dreading, because I don't know still how I'm going to do that," Radcliffe revealed to MTV News, referring to the closing battle with Harry's archenemy, Lord Voldemort.
Radcliffe is hoping, however, that the presence of one of his acting idols — and his "Prisoner of Azkaban" co-star — on set will help quell his anxiety.

Every year at Hogwarts seems to get darker and darker. But when Harry Potter starts his sixth year in "Half-Blood Prince," expect things to lighten up a bit.

"If we pull [it] off [right], it should be the funniest of the films so far," Daniel Radcliffe promised.

That's because, as director David Yates points out, it's the "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" of the Potter books, with massive making-out sessions to occur for several characters — Ron and Lavender, Harry and Ginny — as they come of age. "It's the 'American Graffiti' for this set," Yates said. "I'm looking forward to developing the relationship between Ron and Hermione, and Ron and Lavender. There's a nice triangle there."

The biggest relationship being developed in "Prince" is, of course, the one between Harry and Dumbledore, as the professor takes the student under his wing and shows him Voldemort's back story (as much as it can be pieced together) in the memory-revealing Pensieve. "I'm jealous of Dumbledore taking all the scenes," laughed Evanna Lynch, who plays Luna Lovegood. "But what they've done is really good."

For some, it was TMI -- for others, too little. J.K. Rowling's epilogue to the "Deathly Hallows" may have actually caused more debate than the rest of the book, simply for the who-ended-up-with-whom element, some of which we knew and saw coming, and others, like Draco gets married?! And spawns?! that we still can't get behind. But for Luna Lovegood and Cho Chang, or at least, the actresses who play them, they're quite happy with their happily-ever-afters -- even if Jo didn't see fit to give us all the details in the actual book itself.

"We do know what happens with Luna," Evanna Lynch said when we caught up with her at the "Golden Compass" premiere in London. "She marries Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander [author of 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'] and becomes a famous naturalist. I can't do better than that."

"I'm hoping Cho is like Luna, and happily married with kids," Katie Leung said, "and finally over Cedric and Harry. I want her to be happy."

J.K. Rowling, author of the popular Harry Potter series, revealed her favorite scene from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows novel when she contributed to The Birthday Book, published to mark the 60th birthday of the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles.

An excerpt of the contribution is below:

I admit that, at first glance, the extract I've chosen for The Birthday Book might not seem particularly celebratory, given that it has for its subject my hero walking to what he believes will be certain death. But when Harry takes his last, long walk into the heart of the Dark Forest, he is choosing to accept a burden that fell on him when still a tiny child, in spite of the fact that he never sought the role for which he has been cast, never wanted the scar with which he has been marked. As his mentor, Albus Dumbledore, has tried to make clear to Harry, he could have refused to follow the path marked out for him. In spite of the weight of opinion and expectation that singles him out as the "Chosen One", it is Harry's own will that takes him into the Forest to meet Voldemort, prepared to suffer the fate that he escaped sixteen years before.

1. Put a whopee cushion on Delores Umbridge's seat. When she asks you why it's there, respond with, "The dark lord is back. Watch yourself." And than walk away.
2. Blare loud muggle rap music from your office and scream "Oh yeah, baby!" And "Whoa yeah!" At random times.
3. Install lighting in the Department of Mysteries and call it the "Department of Lighting."
4. Scream in the hall, "Bellatrix! Why have you left me?" And than ask the nearest person if they would like to join you for a butterbeer after work.
5. Tell everyone that you have a secret. When they ask you what it is, say "Meet me at Hogwarts." When they ask why, simply stand there until another person comes by and ask them if they want a free broomstick.
6. Walk up to an employee and ask "Where did Fudge go?" When they say he left the ministry, scream in there faces that he didn't leave.

Well, that's all I've got. Thanks for reading.
