Heroes Question

(third season spoiler) How do you think Arthur Petrelli traveled back in time to steal Hiro's power?

Among Arthur's abilities is the power to steal other powers for himself. Hiro travels back in time fifteen years with Claire (to fulfill the 9th Wonders prophecy), and suddenly Arthur appears, steals his powers and the catalyst, throws Hiro off of the roof (seems a popular thing to do with Nakamura family members), and vanishes back into the future. The show has since shown that there are multiple ways of using powers to travel through time. What is the most plausible explanation for Arthur's time travel, before he had Hiro's time travel ability?

According to Pokarsky & Coleite Molly Walker was in a deleted scene of "Our Father".

They said: 'There was a scene where Arthur found Molly and stole her ability, using it to find Hiro and Claire in the past. However, the scene just seemed overwhelmingly, what’s the word? Disturbing.'

So it seems Arthur took Molly's ability and somehow used it to get back in time to where they were. It would seem like a stretch, but we have seen Sylar use people's abilities to a much greater strength than they could as well.

HOWEVER, this is now a deleted scene, and non-canon, meaning Molly still has her power. This is the best answer I can come up with. Here's a link to the interview too.

Another plausible explanation is that he used the time travelling ability that he stole from Peter earlier in the series.

Unfortunately, this is an extremely hard question to answer since we know so little (relatively) of Arthur's powers. There are many likely scenarios (none of which feel very satisfying to me...) which include these two which are feel are most likely: (1) Arthur may have had a time-travel power from someone else prior to taking Hiro's powers (he may have simply taken Hiro's powers to keep him from interfering, not to actually acquire additional abilities); or (2) Arthur has Peter's ability to use other people's abilities, and, when he took that power, he also was transferred the set of people/powers that Peter was able to utilize. (Did Arthur meet Hiro after taking Peter's powers and before time traveling?)

Well come on, lets think about this. Arthur took hiros ability so he couldnt come back, but that was stupid as hiro could have used the past to screw up the future. Also, if arthur wanted hiros ability then he would have took it at the moment where hiro is actually mentally drained into the status of a 10 year old.
Arthur got his time travel from peters empathic mimicry selection. If not then he would have when he met hiro at said time in africa.
Finding hiro is the hard part..back in season 1 last episode peter fought sylar with molly and co. at the sidelines. Thus giving peter the mollys ability without knowing, even micahs and dls..so there is how arthur got it.

Just a random comment - but he may have took Hiro's ability for some kind of "boost" to the limits of the time travel ability taken through Peter's empathic mimicry. Just saying this, because of the way in which Sylar takes Elle's ability even after already having acquired it through empathic mimicry. (Maybe it's stronger if the ability isn't just being mimicked?)

Arthur Petrlli and 11 others, including his wife, where testing a number of virus' on young children and newborn babies that they had belived to have not been born with a gift. Like Nathan, Nikki and her sisters Barbera and Tracy, also arguablly including Claire and Perhaps Hiro, their powers did no manifest naturally (though it's likely that hiro was born with his powers because his father did not beleive he was worthy). Therefore Arthur and the 11 others, including his wife, had access to such an antidote where arthur could no doubt steal powers from infants or inject himself the virus and that may have been his orginal power.

The petrelli's owned a facility for people with powers perhaps he took a power from a prisoner as it is arguable that Hiro is not the only person to time travel as we have now seen 2 people that can fly and 2 flame-throwers....

If he already had the power i belive he took hiros power away so there was no threat to come of him.. the same reason to which he took peters powers. Greed and fear.

I think Claires power is natural not synthetic because she wasnt in the company when she was a baby she was in the hands of Merideth her biological mother, also she survived the fire Merideth started

Well according to me he traveled back because he has power absorption and he absorbed peter's powers so he had telepathy so he could teleport to the the future and back. You can even check on heroeswiki.
