HOTCH POV

My Bleeding Heart

She was supposed to be mine . . . but I lost her.

Now every couple months I see her around the bureau. We say hi and I breathe in her perfume as she gives me a hug hello. I always make sure not to hold on too long or too tight. Then I show her pictures of Jack, and she shows me pictures of her little girl . . . Lucy.

And I smile as I look at the shiny brown hair and the big brown eyes, and I say that she’s beautiful. And then I think to myself, ‘just like her mother.’

But I don’t say that....

After the team had got back to Quantico they went to the headquarters. Hotchner told them all to go to the meeting room and they did as they were ordered.

“okay everyone i am so glad to be back and you all did a wonderful job today. You figured out what this man wanted and found the wife and two kids. Now this is not a suggestion it’s an order go home, rest and I will see you all tomorrow.”

With that they all left the room and Hotch went to the locker room to get his things from his locker. He heard a noise and put a hand on his gun, he turned the corner and there Emily Prentiss was with...

Our Story

The first time it happened was in the middle of a case. We had been searching for three days for a missing four year old girl. Her name was Emma. In her pictures she had dimples and blonde curls and bright green eyes.

He found her bloody, broken body under a filthy blanket in an alleyway.

And he was convinced that if we could just get her to the hospital that they could save her. He was screaming at us to help him. He couldn’t see what we could see, and he wouldn’t listen to us.
