Earlier That Morning…
1 Minute: 37 Seconds Until Detonation
Marlene made it out of the building & was behind the police line in the crowd of people. Sounds of crying & panicking people filled her ears. She was now trying to find the team. She finally saw them talking in the crowd of people. She started running to them. When she got closer she noticed that Skipper wasn’t with them, which made her worry. Then all of the sudden the three of them started running to the police line. Marlene tried calling out to them, but it was hard to hear the closer to the police line she got. She ended up tripping. A man appeared next to her & helped her up. “Oh, thank yo…” She stopped when the man revealed a small pistol concealed in his jacket. “Keep your mouth shut & start walking.” He commanded in a low voice. Marlene obeyed. The man had a grip on her arm as he guided her to a black car with tinted windows. “Get in.” He told her. Marlene did as she was told. But as soon as she opened the door, someone started speaking to the man on his talkie. “We have the Skipper guy on the roof. We…” He was cut off when the man slammed the door in her face. The man then walked around and got in on the other side. He took out his gun & pointed it at her. Oh no…Skipper! The bomb will go off any second! She thought. She turned around and looked out the back window & just then the building exploded. She began screaming at the top of her lungs. “NOOOOOOOO!!!! SKIPPER!!!!!” She tried to get the door open but it was locked, and then the man grabbed her from behind and put gauze over her mouth. Marlene, crying & screaming through the gauze, struggled to break free, but a few moments later she passed out.

12:02pm
Kowalski & Rico were busy discussing how they were going to find Blowhole and Private was listening carefully. Suddenly there was a slow knock on the door. Kowalski went over and answered it & saw Marlene standing at the door. “Oh my GOD!” Kowalski exclaimed. Marlene looked as though she had been tortured. She was bruised, & had a bad cut on her head. Her hair was in tangles & mats & here clothes were ripped. Kowalski caught her as she fell into his arms. Rico & Private went to go help Marlene in. She was limping, sweating, & her breathing was heavy. “What happened to you!?” Private asked as the three of them set her on their leather couch. But Marlene had passed out. “Kowalski! I thought she called you telling you she got home safely!” Private said. “She did! I don’t understand…I…I don’t understand…” Kowalski told them. Rico put a cold wet cloth to Marlene’s head. They couldn’t even begin to guess what had happened to Marlene.
