"In May 2001, rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Uri Geller and Michael Jackson visited Britain for the official launch of the Heal The Kids Initiative. The journalist JONATHAN MARGOLIS (invited by Boteach) joined them: his unique report offers an extraordinary insight into the world of Michael Jackson - and he might have witnessed the moment the tortured singer made peace with his father."
The call came at 2am.
They say the only thing worse than a wrong number in the middle of the night is a right number, because it invariably heralds tragedy. In this case, however, a right...
I joined this spot for the specific purpose of drawing attention to a shamefully underrated Era between the years 2000 and 2003, a time which caused me to fall completely in love with Michael all over again.
I am not talking about the release of Michael's amazing yet poorly promoted Invincible album or the intoxicating performances he brought to the stages of Madison Square Garden, The Apollo Theater, RFK Stadium or the American Bandstand. Nor am I referring to the surprise movie cameos which showcased Michael's comedic side and natural acting talent. Not even the many honors and...

Invincible is known as the "most expensive album in history", as only production in Jackson spent about $ 30 million. Sony boycotted the album withdrawing it from stores after three months of release. Still Invincible sold about 12 million copies worldwide, something difficult even for artists who were at the peak season.
*What More Can I Give*
Contributed more than 35 singers, like Shakira, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin, Luther Vandross, Justin Timberlake, Carlos Santana, Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Laura Pausini. The single was never released due...
During the rapid release of the album were explicit differences between Michael and the then head of Sony Music, Tommy Mottola. The problems began in 2000 when Jackson tried to withdraw the license from the original recordings from the catalog of his record company to release independent. So Michael would not have to split the profits with Sony. However, Jackson's lawyers have found clauses in his contract with the label that prevented the transaction.
To avoid a lawsuit, Michael and Sony struck a deal that would allow him to leave the label after the release of Invincible, but...
In 2001, Michael would complete 30 years of solo career. To celebrate the day were pressed special editions of albums Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous - all remastered with new liner notes, including rare and unreleased songs, and also interviews with producer Quincy Jones and songwriter Rod Temperton. In addition to two commemorative concerts held at Madison Square Garden in September 2001 with participation of various artists such as Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Slash, Usher, Luther Vandross, Destiny's Child among others.
VIBE: How is it to be competing for sales with the likes of ‘N Sync and Britney Spears, children who were basically born at the height of your fame?
MJ: It’s a rarity. I had No. 1 records in 1969 and ’70, and still entered the charts in 2001 at No. 1. I don’t think any other artist has that range. It’s a great honor. I’m happy, I don’t know what else to say. I’m glad people accept what I do.
VIBE: What are your thoughts on the current state of R&B?
Hold my hand, feel the touch of your body cling to mine
You and me, makin’ love all the way through another night
I remember you and I walking though the park at night
Kiss and touch, nothing much, let it blow just touch and go
Love me more, never leave me alone by house of love
People talk, people say what we have is just a game
Oh, I’ll never let you go, come here girl
Just got to make sweet love ‘til the break of dawn
Ain't the pictures enough, why do you go through so much
To get the story you need,so you can bury me
You've got the people confused, you tell the stories you choose
You try to get me to lose the man I really am
You keep on stalking me,invading my privacy
won't you just let me be
'cause you cameras can't control, the minds of those who know
That you'll even sell your soul just to get a story sold
