Chapter one (hopfully there will be a chapter two)
I lay there waiting for the realization to kick in. I thought, this can't be happing, at least not to me. I had always been a self centered person, never , even in preschool would I share my toys. I always got my way no matter what, because my parents had such great connections. But thats over now, they're dead. I am waiting for my friend, Maria to come pick me up. I think I will crash at her place for a while, till I figure out what is going to happen to me. I bet you didn't know this but she has the cutest older brother, Mark. But he doesn't date girls. I don't know why he doesn't date, especially me I mean I am really pretty. Wavy, full bodied brown hair, soft brown eyes, and the most popular girl at our high school even though I am a just sophomore. I think he is to busy working on his singing career. He is a great singer he always does gigs at The A.P. Everybody knows him and loves him, he even has his own groupies that follows him to his house and to the A.P again and again. Anyway I am getting sidetracked. That always happens to me. Anyway I bet you are wondering how my parents died? Well that is a short sad story. Driving to their anniversary dinner they got hit by a drunk driver who one didn't have his license, two he was under age. I drink sometimes at parties but mostly I have the best soda made, THE DEW. When I do drink, I drink responsibly and always have Edward my butler drive me home, where I am happily greeted by my huge german shepherd, Marley, my little brother, James, named him after Bob Marley before he died of leukemia at the age of 5. Oh here is Maria. I walked out of my orange, blue, and yellow room looking at everything in my house, not knowing when i'd see it again. Then I stopped to look at our last family picture wondering if I should take it with me or not. Then I heard "Elena hurry up!". It was Maria always in a hurry to get wherever she needed to go next under any circumstances. I ran out not bothering to take the picture with me. I grabbed my oversized denim purse and I shut the door behind me, hopefully not the for last time. I hurried and and jumped into the yellow Infinity car. "So how are you feeling?" Maria said. I replied, " I am good i guess, I really don't know, I am having so many feelings bouncing around in my head." She laughed and mocked me, "So many feelings bouncing around in my head!" "Stop it you jerk, it was the only analogy I could think of!"
"Well sorry I was born sarcastic and funny." she said. I laughed at that, despite my mood.
YAY CHAPTER TWO!!
"I forgot to ask, where are we going?" I said. She chuckled," Elena, Elena, what would the world do without your idiot questions." "My idiot questions, your the one who does the sarcastic remarks!" We continued to talk to each other about dirty brake ups and how Eliza stuffs her bra!! When we got to her house we were laughing so hard our abs hurt. But that still wouldn't keep me from thinking about my parents.
Maria's and Mark's mom always makes sure they get at least 30 minutes of sun every day. So she handed us some lemonade in a pitcher and three glasses. Maria asked, " Three what for?" Her mom replied," Mark is out there in the pool." Maria and I both sly glances. "Ok thanks mom." Maria said.
As we walked through her amazingly clean and organized house, I tried not to picture Mark's amazingly ripped body gliding through the water. We opened the screen and my eyes went directly to him. It was better than I imagined, it was totally hardcore. It looked like he must have worked out at the gym 5 times a week or more. Then I remembered that the Kimmers (Mark and Maria) have an expensive gym in their downstairs and Mark always disappears down there. That explains a whole lot, I thought, but for him to be so dedicated was amazing. It was like he was born with those muscles. I could go on and on about them, but at that moment he walked up to me and looked me in the eyes with his deep brown eyes, it felt like I could fall into them. He said," I heard what happened and that really really sucks, but I am glad we can have a place for you."
He continued," I hope that your OK, and we don't have to deal with anything depressing!" I could tell he was trying to make the subject light but his eyes still looked dead serious. I just realized he had the most gorgeous smile, like painfully gorgeous. A smile where every male model would look and wish that he could sell his soul to the devil to get it. I realized that he was so close to me we were almost touching. It felt awkward so I took a step back and started to say,"Mari-" Then I noticed that she put the lemonade down on the table and she was no where to be seen. "OK this is weird now." I said. He just laughed and jumped into the pool doing a cannonball and splashing me all over. I shrieked and rolled up my navy sweat pants. I went over to the side of the pool and stuck my feet in.
