When Lorelai sang "I will always love you" to Luke in season 7 of Gilmore girls, thousands of java junkies out there wanted him to take his turn. This is a few songs I think would have been appropriate for him to sing:
1. She's everything - brad paisley
"she's the giver I wish I could be
And the stealer of the covers,
Shes a picture in my wallet
My unborn children's mother,
She's the hand that I'm holding
When I'm on my knees and praying,
She is a junkie, and he is her angel. He’s also her coffee pusher and food provider. She was his biggest weakness.
He asked her to marry him to shut her up, but really he meant it. The ice man cometh, and was met with a warm hug. It wasn’t her fault that he looked at her like she was a porterhouse steak. She teases, he grumbles, she prods, he retreats; but he always comes back for more.
They were friends, just friends. Emily Gilmore thought that they were idiots, the both of them.
Lorelai goes into Luke's Diner. They share a bit of light-hearted banter, then Luke asks her out in a rather flustered manner, and Lorelai accepts. She asks about April, and he says that she's good. Lorelai asks him to say hi the next time he talks to her, and also asks him when is the next time she's visiting. He says next summer, and she asks if she can spend a day with her. Luke says sure, she'll love that. Lorelai gets her coffee, and walks out of the diner.
"It's one of the key touchstones of our show. You've got this woman working so hard to make it and her partner is right around the corner. If either one of them would just let the wall down for five seconds and keep the quips to a minimum and maybe say something real to each other, their lives would be very different (...) It would be like Oh my God, just turn the **** around, the person's right in back of you!" - Amy Sherman- Palladino
