The credits of Anchorman have just run down the screen and the clock is well past 2am by the time that the cast files out of Josh’s condo and goes back to their own. He had decided to host a little get-together to unwind after a long week of shooting, and since they all have the day off tomorrow there was no reason why they couldn’t just relax and be carefree for a few hours.

After watching the last of them leave, Josh stands in his doorway and lets the sweet-smelling nighttime Hawaii breeze swirl around him, enveloping him like a cocoon. He’s tempted to go outside and just enjoy the night, but his cabin is closest to the tree line and this time is the centipedes’ favorite time to come out and explore. So he just turns slowly on his heel and locks the door behind him, squinting into his dimly lit temporary home.

Even though it’s been a long day and it’s almost 3am, he isn’t ready to go to sleep. His mind is still whirring and his body feels antsy, so he grabs a beer and slumps down on the couch in front of the blank TV. He takes a long guzzle and after he swigs the liquid down and sets the sweating bottle on the end table, a light...

CATCHING FIRE

Written by Simon Beaufoy

Based on the novel by Suzanne Collins

Second Draft, May 12th, 2012

FADE IN:
We focus onto what appears an abandoned battle field.

Streets are littered with broken glass shatters, turned over
dumpsters, trash and other debris of buildings. The aftermath
of a riot.

DISTRICT 8.

INT. DISTRICT 8 BUILDING- DAY

Even inside, the rioters have done their job. The destroyed
room is framed by smashed in windows, words and other
graffiti soak in on the walls. Small flames of fire arise
from different areas.

The beginnings of an Uprising.

CATCHING FIRE

FADE OUT.

EXT. DISTRICT 12 WOODS- MORNING
Hands stiffly trace out the cracks and crevices of a large
rock.

Preview:
In ''The Hunger Games,'' one of the toughest things for Katniss Everdeen to face doesn't come in the arena. It comes when she has to sit down for an interview with TV host Caesar Flickerman. And Jennifer Lawrence is going through a little bit of that now. The 21-year-old has been in the business since she was 16, once had a regular part on ''The Bill Engvall Show'' and has even been nominated for an Oscar, for 2010's ''Winter Bone.'' But she's never had this level of press attention-the kind of scrutiny (fashion layouts, magazine interviews, shopping-mall tours) that goes with what the studio hopes is the next young-adult movie franchise. It's left her a little worried, thinking of those pictures she sees of the harried ''Twilight'' cast. (''I look at Kristen Stewart now and think, I'd never want to be that famous, ' ''Lawrence told Glamour UK.) And it's left her, understandably, a little tired by the time-during a four day publicity blitz-she calls to talk. But like Katniss, she carries on. And is soon listing her acting heroes, (''Charlize Theron, Michael Keaton and Lucille Ball''), explaining why she once knocked out co-star Josh Hutcherson and sharing what she...

To get right to it: Around here at Glamour, we're obsessed with The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins' best-selling fantasy series about a violent world on the brink of revolution. So is the rest of America. There are already more than 23 million copies of the book in print. And when the first film in the trilogy arrives in theaters, all eyes will be on 21-year-old Jennifer Lawrence, who beat out scores of young actresses for the kick-ass role of Katniss Everdeen.
The Kentucky-born Lawrence, who was nominated for an Academy Award last year for her gritty work in Winter's Bone, knows that her life is about to change. Big-time. The Hunger Games is being heralded as the next Twilight, with all of the box office expectations that entails. But instead of vampires, this story has a fight-to-the-death reality show, political conspiracies and the brutal deaths of small children. In other words, Lawrence isn't just playing the next Bella Swan; she's also playing the next Jason Bourne.

I have seen almost everything she has been in-Winter's Bone, Burning Plain, Hunger Games, The Beaver. Well in 2 of the movies so far she has killed at least 1 person (don't know about X-Men) They are Burning Plain and (duh) Hunger Games. If you don't want the Burning Plain/Hunger Games spoiled-stop reading now.

Burning Plain: This movie was crazy-it starts well "today" and jumps back and forth. Why you don't know at first. Here's the gist of her SL in the movie: she lives with her family and knows her mom is up to something no good (in this case an affair) So she (I think) releases the gas and messes with the stove, lights a match and well the trailer goes ka boom. Sadly, she didn't realize her mom was in there until after she had set the gas on fire. Imagine walking around with that guilt for the rest of your life and never telling anyone. There's another twist but I'll omit that one and hope someone decides to see it-great cast (I swear Charlize Theron can do no wrong), Kim Bassinger, and of course Jennifer are the stand outs, solid script, albeit it does not go in order, just hang in there, its worth it.

"Jennifer Lawrence talked to PARADE's Emily Listfield about prepping for the part, the toughest day of shooting, and being on the brink of superstardom. To borrow an oft-used phrase from The Hunger Games: May the odds be ever in her favor! Be sure to check out this weekend's issue of PARADE magazine in your local newspaper for more on The Hunger Games.

What makes Katniss such a popular character?
“I love Katniss. She doesn’t have a lot, but she’s happy, and she faces death out of love for her family. She doesn’t want to be a hero, but she becomes the symbol for a revolution, a kind of futuristic Joan of Arc.”

Why do you think so many people relate to the books?
“I was watching the Kardashian girl getting divorced, and that’s a tragedy for anyone. But they’re using it for entertainment, and we’re watching it. The books hold up a terrible kind of mirror: This is what our society could be like if we became desensitized to trauma and to each other’s pain.”[b]

Her full name is Jennifer Shrader Lawrence.

She was born on August 15, 1990 in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.

Her height is 5′ 7″ (1.70 m).

She grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, where her dad owned a construction company and her mom ran a summer camp.

She has 2 older brothers, Ben and Blaine, sister-in-law Meredith.

While growing up, she was a total tomboy: field hockey, softball, basketball on an all-boys team. One of her nicknames was Nitro.

At 14, Jennifer Lawrence convinced her parents to take her to New York to audition for talent agencies.

She graduated from high school, with a 3.9 average, two years early in order to begin acting.

She auditioned for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight (but we all know who nabbed the role).

She starred as Lauren Pearson in the TBS comedy The Bill Engvall Show.

Jennifer Lawrence was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She has 2 older brothers, Ben (Meredith) and Blaine, her parents are Gary and Karen Lawrence and a brand new nephew, Bear Lawrence.

Jennifer, known to her friends and family as “Jen”, was discovered in New York City at the age of 14. Before Jennifer became an actor, she was involved in cheerleading, field hockey, softball, and modeling, none of which she held a passion for.

In the spring of 2004, she traveled to New York City and set up a few auditions with talent and modeling agencies. After conducting her first cold read, the agents told her mother that “it was the best cold read by a 14- year-old they had ever heard”, and tried to convince her mother that she needed to spend the summer in Manhattan. After leaving the agency, Jen was spotted by an agent in the midst of shooting an H&M ad and asked to take her picture. The next day, that agent followed up with her and invited her to the studio for a cold read audition. Again, the agents were highly impressed and strongly urged her mother to allow her...
