Actress, entertainer, music artist, film & TV producer, fashion designer, entrepreneur and humanitarian Jennifer Lopez has been called one of the most powerful and celebrated celebrities in entertainment.

She has sold over 55 million records worldwide and starred in multiple box-office #1 films, including “Monster-In-Law” and “The Wedding Planner.” In 2001, “The Wedding Planner” was the nation’s top-grossing film, while her album, “J.Lo,” was #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. The two simultaneous #1 honors made Lopez the first woman in history to have a #1 movie and #1 album in the same week.

In May 2011, Lopez released her highly anticipated album, “LOVE?,” on Island/Def Jam Records. The first single, “On The Floor” (featuring rapper Pitbull) shot to #1 in 18 countries and became the most downloaded song of her career. The music video set an all-time record making Jennifer the first female artist on Vevo to rack up 100 million views in the shortest amount of time. The music video has become the most watched music video by any female artist in the history of YouTube, logging in over a staggering 450 million views. The year...

[i]Children grow and women producing
Men go working
Some go stealing
Everyone's got to make a living

L O X
J. Lo
We off the block this year
Went from a low to a lot this year
Everybody mad at the rocks that I wear
I know where I'm goin' and I know where I'm from
You hear LOX in the air
Yea, we're at the airport out DBlock
Where everybody air-forced-out
With a new white T.U. fresh
Nothin' phony with us, make the money, get the mansion, bring the homies with us

Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got
I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block
Used to have a little, now I have a lot
No matter where I go, I know where I came from (South-Side Bronx!)
Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got
I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block
Used to have a little, now I have a lot
No matter where I go, I know where I came from (South-Side Bronx!)

Jennifer Lopez was forced to shell out $6,000 for swimming pool repairs after her son's potty training went awry. The singer and hubby Marc Anthony were hit with the huge bill after three year-old Max had an 'accident'. "He took a $6000 dump in the pool," Anthony revealed. "He had an accident in the pool but it got into the filter system and they charged me $6000 to clean it. That was the most expensive... yeah." Anthony, 41, opened up about life at home with son, Max, and daughter, Emme, during an appearance on Jay Leno's US chat show. The Grammy Award winner said he and J-Lo were currently trying to potty train their twins - but confessed the toddlers could be a bit sneaky. "Potty training is in full force, but they figure out things. I don't know how they do it," he said. "Every time they use their potty we give them a lollipop. Then a few days passed and we ran out of lollipops. I'm like 'You should probably get them checked out if they're using the potty that much.'" Anthony and Lopez celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary earlier this month.

Jennifer Lopez has revealed that Lady Gaga has inspired her to 'do great things'. The On The Floor singer made a return to music following a stint as a judge on American Idol, and said that the quirky star motivated her to do more with her own career. She told MTV News, "I'm always motivated by other artists and inspired by them. They inspire me because when I see other people doing great things, it makes me want to do great things too." But the 41-year-old mother-of-two insisted that she won't be copying the Poker Face singer anytime soon. "I never am one to look at other people and try to do what they do. I always feel like a true artist does what they do and it is very individual to who they are," she said. "You can't copy or do anything like that, it just becomes weird, but if you're true to yourself and push your own boundaries and your limits, you can't help but come out with something great." J-Lo teamed up with Gaga for tracks Hypnotico and Invading My Mind, on new album Love? and said, "I love her sense of lyric and melody, I feel like she's very interesting. It's just not something you're gonna hear every day."

Singer Jennifer Lopez thinks it is a pop star's job to push the boundaries, insisting the music scene would be 'boring' if they didn't. The 41-year-old has defended the likes of pop star Rihanna, who has recently caused controversy with her racy performances, saying artists like her have to take risks with their stage antics. The On The Floor hitmaker told British Star magazine: "It's part of our job to push the envelope and test the boundaries - if you don't, it gets boring. "So I love everything. I'm an artist and I love that's what they do. You can't ask them to not be who they are."

Jennifer Lopez was born and grew up in the South Bronx, New York to Puerto Rican parents Guadalupe Rodríguez, a kindergarten teacher, and David Lopez, a computer specialist.[5] She has two siblings, Lynda and Leslie. Lopez spent her entire academic career in Catholic schools, finishing at the all-girls Preston High School, in the Bronx. She financed singing and dancing lessons for herself from the age of 19. After attending Baruch College for one semester, Lopez divided her time between working in a legal office, dance classes, and dance performances in Manhattan night clubs.[6] She had a bit part in the 1987 film My Little Girl. After months of auditioning for dance roles, Lopez was selected as a dancer for various rap music videos, a 1990 episode of Yo! MTV Raps, and as a backup dancer for the New Kids on the Block and their performance of their song "Games" for the American Music Awards in 1991. After being rejected twice, she gained her first regular high-profile job as a "Fly Girl" dancer on the television comedy program In Living Color in 1990. Soon after, Lopez became a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and made an appearance in her 1993 video "That's the Way Love Goes".
