I have admired Jerry Lewis since I first saw him starring in a film with Dean Martin in the 1950s. I was only around 8 or 9 years old, feeling sad because we had just moved to a new area and I missed my friends, but that film made me laugh and instantly I was hooked! I used to practise Jerry's voice and facial expressions all the time and my ambition was to become a comedian. I even wrote directed and starred in a play I put on at school when I was about 12 - based very much on his Nutty Professor character (omitting the Buddy Love element!).
His talent, his humor, his jokes and his charm will terribly miss us.
In spite of all the trials that he knew, undergone and overcome, Mr. Lewis arrived at a good age.
Jerry Lewis will remain forever this wonderful artist who made us laugh as soon as he appeared on the screen. He had a comic potential that will never be unmatched.
Jerry forever in our hearts and memories.
