End of Part 21
"Alice dear, we are all just worried about how obsessed you are with this. We worry that you are going to be hurt by something you read." Esme said as she came over and gave me a hug.
"Yeah squirt, we're just worried about ya." Emmett said as he winked at me.
"Well we all know how it ends, that won't be a shocker. It's just the filler in the middle that I am worried about. Please don't worry about me, I just want to finish this..and so so that I can go back to my life without having this book in my mind at all times." I said as I walked over to the back door.
"Can we go now?" I said as I looked at Jasper and Edward.
"Have fun!!" Emmett said as Edward and Jasper joined me at the door.
"Oh always..can't wait." I said, realizing that I was being crabby with everyone when they didn't actually do anything wrong.
"I'm sorry everyone." I said as I looked over my shoulder and smiled at all of them before running into the woods, Jazz and Edward right behind me.
I ran to the river, tucking into a ball as I flew over the river. I heard both of them land softly next to me, worry flooding out of Jasper.
"I'm fine." I said as I smiled up at him.
"Nope you're not." Edward said as he winked at me.
"Ok fine might not be the best wording..but I'll be ok. Let's hunt, then I can get back to read more..it's almost over." I said as I turned my back on them and ran into the woods. I didn't care if they were following me or not anymore, I just let myself go...the smell of the hunt burning my nose.
Part 22
The three of us ran and let ourselves go, letting the natural part take over. When I hunt I loose a part of myself, I don't see the animal for more than a second..what I do see is the way that it's blood pulsates below the surface.
We had come across a mother bear with two cubs, and while the 'boys' argued about who got to take down the big one I ran around and took the mother bear from the back, killing her with only strike. My mouth crushed down into her carotid artery, opening it to allow the blood to flow into my mouth.
I knew that this was going to be too much for me, and when I was finished I stood up and motioned for Jasper and Edward to finish it since I knew the baby bears wouldn't completely curb their thirsts.
While the two of them hovered above the bear I went and sat down on a rock, looking myself over to be sure that I didn't get any blood on me. My violet shirt was still crisp and spotless, my cream colored pants had one tough of fur on the right leg which I quickly plucked off and threw on the ground at my feet.
I sat there remembering the end of the last entry. I knew that I wasn't suppose to go outside, and in fact...Dr. Gordon had forbid me to go outside anymore after I started asking about James.
Now yes I knew who James was now...well before we killed him...ohhh whatever. Anyway, I knew who he was in this life but in that part I was curious about him and wondered why Dr. G wanted me to stay away from him. I knew that Jennifer and I were walking out the doors, no sign of Dr. Gordon..what was going to happen?
"ALICE!" Jasper said. He was kneeling in front of me, hands on my shoulders.
I blinked a few times before I could answer. "What?!" I said, confused about why he was yelling at me.
"Did you not hear us at all?" He asked, concern flooding out of him.
"No, I guess I didn't. I was thinking, sorry." I said as I laid my hand on his face.
"That explains the blank look then." Edward said as he smiled.
I stuck my tongue out at him before turning back to look at Jasper. "I'm sorry I upset you, what did you say love?" I asked him.
He leaned in and kissed me gently. "I was just worried about why you went and sat down. I thought that something was wrong." He said as the concern he felt flooded into me.
"I'm fine Jazz, I was just deep in thought." I said as I smiled.
"You sure? You're not keeping anything in?" He asked.
"Jazz she's fine. She's itching to go read. She can hardly keep herself sitting on the rock." Edward said as he laughed.
I jumped off the chair and rushed Edward before he could react. I pushed him to the ground and sat on his chest. "I can't keep myself on the rock!!" I said as I poked him in the chest.
We all laughed as I stood up and offered Edward a hand to stand up. He took it and pulled me to the ground next to him, throwing grass at me.
"HEY!! Watch the clothes." I whinnied.
"Oh LORD!! You sound like Rosalie!!" Edward said as he started laughing so hard he had to lean forward.
"OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!" I said as I got to my feet and ran at him again.
Jasper suddenly moved and caught me by the shoulders and turned me to look at him. "It's good to see you smile again, you've been so devoted to this journal that I was worried I lost a part of you."
"You can't loose me silly." I said as I rose up on my toes and kissed his nose. "Now can we go back and finish this journal please?" I asked both of them.
They stood looking at each other before Edward started laughing. "She'll be fine. The sooner we get back the sooner this will all be done and we can go back to...well I would say normal but we're FAR from normal!!"
"Ha Ha Edward." I said as I took Jasper's hand in mine. "I'll race you both back." I said as I started running, not waiting to hear their response.
Edward overtook me of course, he was the fastest of any of us. Jasper caught up quickly and passed me, but waited at the edge of the river. He held his hand out to me, which I took. He pulled me close to his chest and kissed me with such passion that I was glad Edward was on the other side of the river in case we started the woods on fire.
"Good LORD!!" Edward called from the other side of the river.
We ignored him, our bodies pressed together. I realized it had been a while since I spent time alone with Jasper. I pulled back and stared into his eyes.
"I'm sorry love, I haven't been around much for you." I said as I took his head in my hands.
He leaned in and kissed me again before pulling his head back, my hands still at his face. "Alice, love please don't apologize to me. There is nothing to apologize for. I love you you know?" He asked.
"I know, thank you." I said as I kissed him again before pulling away and looking at the house.
I must have looked from the house and back to Jasper about 10 times before he started laughing at me. "Let's finish this book so that I can have my wife back." He said as he smiled down at me.
I kissed him one more time before getting an evil look in my eyes. "Race you to the house?" I asked.
"Alright, no cheating. Ready....GO!!" He said as he ran and jumped effortlessly over the river.
I stood there watching him, I knew that once this journal was done I would do everything in my power to return to the devoted, caring, loving wife that Jasper deserved. I wouldn't let anything come between us, and felt terrible guilt for letting anything cause any distance form between us.
"I thought we were racing?" Jasper called from the other side of the river.
"Ohhh we are!!" I said as I walked back a few steps to get a running start. I jumped over the river, turning my body as I flew into a pirouette. I spun over and landed about 10 feet away from the house.
I ran to the edge and slapped it lightly as I turned around. "I win." I said as Jasper ran over to my side, picking me up and spinning me around.
"You're so beautiful." He said as he hugged me tight.
"I'm glad you think so." I said as I kissed him.
"Are you two going to come in or do I have to get the hose?" Emmett said from the window beside us.
We both started laughing as Jasper set me down, taking my hand in his. "Well, let's go read this thing. We're nearly done, there wasn't much left." Jasper said as he held the door open for me.
