End of Chapter 6
***Emmett's POV***
Half an hour later we were all running through town, looking for the building Alice had seen in her vision. We had just turned down an alley when Alice came to a stop and turned to face a broken down shop. She walked over and turned the handle as all of us braced for a fight.
The swung open to reveal a large room with what looked to be three rooms off the main room. We were about to split up when we heard a woman scream, the sound stopping us all dead in our tracks. Jasper took off with all of us on his heels, slowing when we heard breathing on the other side of the door. Alice pushed him out of the way as she reached the handle and gave the door a push.
"Help me please." A soft voice called as we all looked into a room that contained nothing/no one but a small human who was huddled into the corner.
Chapter 8
***Alice's POV***
The voice sounded so small, so helpless that I couldn't help but feel sympathy for her..but before we all could figure out what was going on she started screaming my name over and over again. I couldn't see her around Emmett and Jasper who once they sensed someone else, had pushed Rosalie and I back to protect us both. I tried to look around Jasper, but couldn't see anything.
I went to push Jasper out of the way when I had a vision of Edward telling this woman that she had to wait until they were gone before she moved. That she had to make them believe that he had killed her..oh my...Edward had tasted human blood. Just enough that he could fool Jane and Gabriel.
"Move Jazz." I said as I pushed against his arm. "I have to talk to her, she is waiting for me."
Jasper looked at me for a few seconds, his training making it hard for me to go into a room alone with someone we didn't know. He didn't trust people, he thought most things were traps unless proven otherwise.
"Jazz, you can come with me but please don't interfere. She's scared." I said as I stepped around him, his hand grabbing mine as we walked into the room.
"No.No.No.No.." The woman said as she backed into a corner, her entire tiny frame shaking in fear. "He said someone would come...that they wouldn't hurt me."
"Who said this?" I asked as I took a step closer, the woman not reacting until Jasper took a following step which sent her into hysterics. "Jazz, please." I asked softly.
"The man who was here with me." She said.
"You are alone?" I asked, obviously I knew the answer to this..but felt she needed to answer things on her own time.
"Yes, could you help me? I was suppose to wait here for Alice Cullen, his sister...but she hasn't come and I am scared. I have to get back to my children, they must be SO scared." She asked as she moved forward, leaning on her arms for support.
"We will help you get back to them, I just have a few questions for you first if you don't mind." I asked as I smiled sweetly.
"What?"
"About the man you said told you to wait here. We are all missing our brother, we are worried something happened to him." I said as I frowned.
"What is your name?" She asked as she looked at me, then at Rosalie and Emmett who were standing in the doorway still, then at Jasper and finally me.
"Well, this is my brother Emmett, my sister Rosalie, my other brother Jasper and I am Alice." I said as I moved my hand to each of my siblings.
"Alice? Alice Cullen?" She asked, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Yes?"
"He said you would come, Edward said you would come for me. That you would help me back to my babies." She said as she threw herself at me, wrapping her arms around me as she sobbed.
"Shhhhhh." I said as I gently rubbed her back. "We will get you to your children, I just have to know what happened to Edward...and where they went."
"Edward poked my finger, and...." She said as she shook her head, not wanting to say what we all knew. He had fed off of her finger, only a few drops but enough to fool the others.
"Shhhh you don't have to talk about that part." I said as I soothed her.
"They...they came in and I held as still as I could. I heard someone ask why he didn't finish and your brother said that I was ill, that drinking my blood would not help. They all laughed and walked out of the room...I heard someone mention Germany but I can't be sure. I was so scared." She said, tears staining her cheeks.
"It's ok, you did wonderfully. Thank you." I said as I hugged her. "Let's get you back to your children, they must be worried about you." I said as I stood up and offered her my hand to stand up.
"We're going to Germany?" Emmett asked as we walked towards the door.
"Yes, but let's get her to her children first." I said as I smiled.
"Where in Germany? It's a big country." Rosalie said, her tone a bit snottier then I was hoping for.
"I will look later." I snapped.
"Where in Germany did they take him?" Rosalie asked the woman who shrunk towards me.
"I...I don't know." She said as she started to shake.
"Rosalie." I said as I glared at her.
"Well it would be helpful if we knew."
"I said I will look." I told her as we walked past her and out into the dark of the streets. "Where are your babies?"
"At my parents." She said as she pointed to the east.
"Alright, let's not make them wait any longer." I said as we started walking into the night. Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie following behind us.
About 20 minutes later we stopped in front of a quaint two story house. The woman reached for the door but at the same time the door swung open a elderly woman's shape was framed by the light. She gasped then stepped into the dark, her arms wrapping around her daughter. A few seconds later we all heard children running, their voices calling for their mother. I laughed softly as two small children launched their selves at their mother, hugs and kisses being exchanged between all of them. I turned and caught Jasper's eye, a sweet smile on his face as he watched the family's happy reunion.
"Let's go." I said softly.
"I'll be right back." The woman said to her children and mother as she stood up and turned to face me. "Thank you, thank you so much for helping me. Your brother knew you were coming, he has faith in you all. When you see him, please tell him I said thank you." She said as she hugged me tightly.
"No..thank you. You have helped more then you will ever know. You were very brave, your children should be proud of you." I said as I hugged her back.
"Alice, we have to go." Jasper said as he looked to the east where the sun was beginning to rise.
"Good luck, tell your brother thank you please." She said as she smiled.
"We will, we must be going." Jasper said as he smiled at both of us.
I smiled back before turning to join Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie. We all waved before walking into the dark, waiting until we were away from the crowds before we started running as fast as we could back to the airport to hopefully board a plane to Germany.
