Sad Beginnings Chapter 35

End of Chapter 34
***Edward's POV***


This one was different in some ways, and the same in more, there were still officers coming along to assist. They searched high and low for the culprits and when they went to the roof they found nothing unusual, they questioned all of us (which we only saw parts of, since it hadn't happened so we didn't know the answers.)

"Edward." Alice sighed, knowing that I had seen everything she had seen. "What...how?"

"I don't know, but we have about one minute to figure this out." I said, the sirens getting louder.

I felt like I was being watched again and looked down the alley to find Bella's brown eyes watching her watching me and Alice. I wished more in that moment then any before that I could hear what she was thinking. I was about to say something to Alice when she laughed and put one hand on my shoulder.

"This is going to help." She said as she smiled her mischievous smile...which meant no good was going to come from this.

I was about to ask her what she meant by that when I looked back down the alley and saw Bella smile a fraction of a second before she started screaming, getting everyone's attention on her and away from us or the car.

Chapter 34
***Alice's POV***

The scream echoed off the buildings that surrounded us, it was so loud and unexpected that it got everyone (but mine) attention. I don't know why but I winked at her seconds before I moved as fast as I could to the buildings entrance.

I made it to the roof before her scream had gotten to it's full pitch, knowing that I only had about a minute before anyone noticed that I was gone. I didn't have much time to think and acted on impulse..knowing that it might draw more attention but by the time anyone noticed this problem would be gone.

I looked over the side of the building down into the alley below, seeing a large metal garbage can that stood below me with it's cover up. I searched the two bodies before I ran them down the building, one over each shoulder. In the pocket of the smaller of them I found a bic lighter, and that instantly gave me an idea that changed some of the outcome of things.

I flew down the stairs and around the side of the building before anyone noticed anything. I put both of the bodies into the metal bin, sighing before I did what had to be done. I put both of the bodies inside the garbage bin and used the lighter to burn them both, making sure that there was no one around to witness what I was doing.

Once the bodies were burnt beyond recognition I ran as fast as I could back to the alley where Bella was now bending in half, gasping for breath as the officers rushed forward. My family looked at me, and even though I couldn't read their minds I knew what they were thinking and I nodded ever so slightly so that they all knew that I had taken care of the 'problem.'

The officers who's car was demolished were rushing to Bella who was now standing upright with some help from her mother who was completely petrified.

"Did you know this would happen?" Edward's voice echoed inside my head.

"I knew she would help, but I didn't know how. She's smart Edward." I thought as I turned and smiled at him.

"I know." He thought as he turned and looked at the girl that I knew had his heart..which was an amazing thing..and a scary thing at the same time.
