For those that want to dress as Katniss for Halloween, cosplay or for a costume party...

Lets start with the book:

Katniss wears a a light green blouse with her mockingjay pin, tawny pants, brown belt and a thin hooded black jacket that falls to the thighs. Her hair is done in a braid down the back. She also wears combat boots.

If you want to go totally accurate you can mess yourself up a bit, a wound just above the eyebrow and flame-painted fingernails (For those that have read the book will know).
And since Katniss has black hair and grey eyes, if you don't have the colour you can dye your hair to that colour (Though wearing a wig is a better option), and wearing grey coloured eye contacts on your eyes.

For the bow and arrows, Katniss had a compound bow in the book (because she described it with having three strings), and a small quiver with arrows.
She also wore a backpack that was orange in colour.

Tribute names
"Be not afraid of greatness, some are born great, some achieve greatness and others have it thrusted upon them."
*William Shakespeare*
This definitely applies to the heroine of the hour, Katniss Everdeen. In the trilogy of the hunger games fans will notice that Katniss has the worse of luck you could possibly get. And its how she deals with it and these admirable qualities she displays that puts her up there with some of the greatest heroes of our generation.
Katniss Everdeen holds all of the great qualities that a human being would ever want to possess. She is the face that perfectly represents Panem and, Amerca itself. She is such a role model because even through the toughest times she pulls through it. For example she had to deal with losing her father, losing peeta to the Capitol, losing Prim and Rue as well. And in my opinion she handled it pretty well.
Katniss is often described as.....
*Not so desperate for love

Katniss Everdeen, known as the "girl on fire" ",Katnip" , and "Hero". These titles that she earned were something that came out of courage, success, and drive. She was not only the "Girl on Fire" in Panem, but in America too.
Suzanne Collins wrote this series in a world that there is no longer than a republic, but a place full of horror. The Hunger Games was an awful tradition, but Katniss, with her wit and archery skills she won with her fake boyfriend, Peeta she defied the rules, and angered President Snow.
What I am trying to say is that there are a lot of Katniss Everdeens every were that make the world a much better place by using their gifts. These people make a sacrifice that I was so inspired to make this article. Maybe you are one of those people.

Based on the novel by Suzanne Collins

Second Draft, May 12th, 2012

We focus onto what appears an abandoned battle field.

Streets are littered with broken glass shatters, turned over
dumpsters, trash and other debris of buildings. The aftermath
of a riot.

Even inside, the rioters have done their job. The destroyed
room is framed by smashed in windows, words and other
graffiti soak in on the walls. Small flames of fire arise
from different areas.

The beginnings of an Uprising.

Note: Hi this is my first ff that isn't about the Penguins of Madagascar so I hope it's good. It's just something that I sort of thought up.

(Katniss's POV)

I walked through the woods on the boundaries of District 12, bow and arrow in hand. Spring was exploding everywhere...flowers sprouting through the dew-covered grass. Sunlight danced off the bright green leaves on tall trees and short stumpy bushes. I crept through the trees, carefully positioning my steps, trying not to crunch dead leaves or break twigs that might scare away my prey.

Sometimes I take a moment to soak in my surroundings when I haven't found any game. Birds flutter through the trees, singing their song. I can see the sun rising above the trees, into the vast open blue sky. I look down, and a small pink flower has fully opened its petals, soaking in the warm sunlight. I pick it. It would make a nice gift for Prim.

Katniss Everdeen Mellark: The girl on fire. She is the determined, protective, cunning, feirce, and stunning role model. For everyone growing up, she is what you wish to be. She has it all. Her family, exept Prim, her house, her bow, buttercup, love, amazing bread, fame, fortune, and the most valuable, her life. She should be dead. If it wasnt for her quick thinkning with the nightlock, either her or the love of her life would be dead. So why is he everything we want to be? Because of a corupt place called the Capitol. It is the crulest place on Earth. On the reaping day, two children will be sent to the capitol to fight to the death, as you already know, but what is surprising? The Capitol thinks its a blessing for these people, that the tributes are honoured. Well, lets just say Katniss and Peeta are smarter, were smarter, and will always be smarter than the Capitol. If everyone could learn to rebel against things like child labour, just like the bring down the capitol campain, then these things will go away. You can be the next Katniss Everdeen Mellark, The Girl On Fire! (if you are a boy, please dont be offended!) :)

The Hunger Games adds detail about romance, adventure and Tragedy all in one book. You can't go a year without reading about Katniss Everdeen and her endless struggles to survive. Here are what famouss authors said about Suzanne Collins book:

"It was like I was really there.Standing beside Katniss"-J.K Rowling.
