Well it happened, Fox has let go another great show.
As of May 10, 2011, Fox announced they have canceled: Lie To Me, Human Target, and The Chicago Code.

In season one, LTM had 11.06 million views.
Then lost some in season two, dropping to 7.39 million views.
Sadly, it dropped some more for season three.
Falling down to only 5.84 views, there was no hope for LTM.
Still, every fan is devastated. And already people are hopping some other broadcasting television show will buy LTM.

Also....
Human Targets Viewing:
Season one: Started with 10.12 million views, then the end of the first season, it had dropped to 8.23 million views.
Season two: Only made 6.59 million views.

Sorry, no ratings on The Chicago Code.

It's sad to see LTM leave, please someone! BUY LTM!

TVLINE | When I spoke to Tim Roth at the start of this season, he said Lie To Me was finally the show it always wanted to be. Do you feel you fulfilled that promise?
CARY: Yeah, Tim feels we really kicked up a notch. He’s a happy camper, I think. He’s very keen that it comes back [in the fall].
TVLINE | In your minds, what distinguishes Lie To Me from other procedurals?
CARY: Character.
GRAZIANO: To me, it’s the only show on television where the audience can learn the ability of the crime solver. The audience feels like on some level they might absorb the skill that Lightman has and be able to use it in their daily life, on their boss or wife or whomever.
CARY: What also makes this different is there’s a very strong father-daughter relationship, and that has only grown. It has become a signature of the show, and that gives it a heart without being sappy or sentimental.
TVLINE | What are your favorite episodes from Season 3? I imagine “Veronica” (guest-starring Annette O’Toole) has to be up there.

I am loving Lie To Me even more!
This is a show you got to watch! ( TELL UR FRIENDS)
In the season finale (season 3) " Killers App " You see not even more growing between Cal and Gillian, but what most fans say,
"Best episode ever!" " FOX we need more!"
"When does season 4 start?!"
I'm demanding more as well. And as Lie To Me grows stronger and stronger, hitting more than 7 million views, fans are also demanding the writers to show more of what's between Cal and Gillian.
Until season 4 starts, I will enjoy reruns!

So we were discussing Callian in the flail party forum but i figured that i would post it here too. Not that many people come to this spot (frowny face) but i figured it was more likely to be seen here so here we go!

Many viewers on the show would argue that Cal and Gillian are definitely heading into the relationship direction. I myself am one of them. While they are, at the moment, just friends there is a mutual attraction there that is hard to hide and it affects their actions both towards one another and towards others. We'll start with Cal.

Ohh Cal. He is an interesting man. The best way to describe him that ive come up with is "right brained." I mean he studies faces for heavens sake! He is literally that person who can be described as everywhere at once. Someone will ask him a question, he gets distracted and walks away. He's disorganized, irresponsible, big rsik taker, and REALLY likes sex (but i mean who doesnt? and yeah that has nothing to do with right brainness but i had to just add it in there :p) When it comes to Gillian, he's the most disorganized of all it seems. One minute he's checking her out, the next he's being the best friend,...

Already the second season finale?? Where did this season go?
Oh, I remember now.

*Rant Ahead* - Ye be Warned.

I know plenty of people who were completely thrown off of Lie to Me because of the idiot decision Fox made to extend this season while it's original '13 episode' season was almost done.
By doing that, it shortened the 'intended' season down to 10 episodes, and what followed after that was a 6 month hiatus so the writers and everyone involved could pick up the order.
However the GOOD news, is that Season 3 returns alot SOONER than usual. (So far the date is set for November 10th, but don't take my word for it, it could change))
So in the end, what we get is an EXTENDED Season 2, but only because we had to wait 6 months for the rest of the episodes to air regularly over the Summer schedule.
*sigh*
This season was a mess.
I still somehow caught all of the episodes, and I watched tonight’s Season 2 Finale, that was LONG overdue.

After last weeks 'somewhat slow' episode, this week follows up with a formula it knows how to do well. It WAS, predictable, I'm not going to lie (sorry), but it was good. And when it comes to a show like this, it means it was amazing.

Now I'm going to say right off the bat, I found myself smiling like an idiot when I watched the opening scene between Cal and Gillian. The way they played off of eachother was a real treat to watch, and even how they handled the situation after the fact was something else. (I, for one, never thought Cal would bring up Gillians "fib"; "So you like being tied up?" I almost passed out!)
However, if you've read any of my reviews, you know I don't like getting into the shipping aspect of the show, but this episode was packed full of it, so it's a little difficult not to talk about it.
And while this episode became one where I knew how it was going to end (for the first 80% of the show, anyway) I loved how they managed to tie in Emily's character into the main story for once, rather than have her cheering from the sidelines. And with a subject matter like this, it really showed us exactly HOW mature she is, and how much emotional...

Let me make a prediction! So okay there's two more episodes left of season 2, and I know that on the season finale, something, I don't know what, will happen between Cal, and Gillian, something bigger than Cal admitting that he likes Gillian.
So I LOVED the end of Exposed, the scene with Cal, and his daughter Emily.
"You never tell the truth, I guess that's why you'll always be alone."
Emily says.
Out side, of restaurant , you can see Gillian sitting, reading a book.
Cal looks at her, then back at Emily, he then gets up, and says,
"I'm not alone". He leaves, and walks out side to join Gillian. It was way sweet! And Gillian ( I think) has dropped her dumb fake boyfriend, and seemed to be happy to see Cal. And Emily even smiled, so that was extra points!

Sorry for the lack of my review last week, but I was away at camp, and as many times I ask for them to set up TV and Cable...it never happens.
So today I watched last weeks episode and caught tonights to get things back on track.

And I must admit, I was pleasently surprised with last weeks episode 'Pied Piper'.
Considering it was the type of case that I absolutly LOVE, I was immediatly hooked. (Creepy children singing nursery rhymes is generally something I watch all of the time. Nightmare on Elm Street, anyone?)
So about last weeks episode...it was 'bloody' amazing. Perfect in every way, and so far...once again, it is now my new favorite episode of the season. (Perhaps the series, but we're only on season 2)
However the cherry on top for that episode had to be Cal's ear injury/head bandage. I IMMEDIATLY thought about Vincent van Gogh (Tim Roth in Vincent and Theo) and I had a good laugh about it for well over 15 miunets.

But now, alas, this week's episode began to jump back a bit, and was somewhat dissapointing. (Not having a week to absorb last weeks episode, rather a few hours) I was expecting alot more from tonights episode, and...

Gosh! Okay so I saw previews for next week! And it's about Fosters boyfriend ( UGH HATE HIM lol) any way and like he gets kidnaped, or something like that. So there's this scene with Foster, Lightman, and Fosters boyfriend.
And this is was is said [that made me scream!]:
" This isn't about foster!" Lightman says to Fosters boyfriend.
"No, it's about you! You want her!" Fosters boyfriend says.
"In the most worst way!" Says Lightman.
EEEK! And like Foster looks at him with a surprised look.
Gosh! I always knew Lightman liked her! So here's what I would say to Foster: " Drop your dumb boyfriend, and hook up with Lightman! It's gonna happen either way!"

I loved the inclusion of this picture in the episode.
I must admit, for the past 2 episodes, I haven't been very enthusiastic over the plot. We really haven't seen anything new, (that's to be expected from drama's), the only difference is what situation the characters are in, and in this case, it's a murderer plot circling around Cal.
He's bit into illegal underground fighting, and 80% of it is completley for buisness pourposes. Apparently. (How much do you want to bet we'll never hear about Cal's interest in this 'sport' again?)

But even with Cal caught in the middle of the mess, and everyone trying to cover up for him...I honestly didn't care.
I found myself more intrested on Gillian's own personal investigation on her new partner, Dr. Burns...or Dave Ellstrom...whatever the heck his name is. I don't expect to see him around long, considering the regular life span of so called 'new regulars'. (So far it's 2 episodes. I give this guy 3 more, MAX.)
And this is random, but what happened to Zoe? I loved watching the interaction between Cal and her, and they've seem to cut her out to focus more on his relationship with Gillian, but now that it's out of the picture (for 3 more episodes) I hope to see Zoe...

Sorry for the delayed review, I got caught up in a bunch of things, and for the first time since this series started, Lie to Me actually slipped my mind!
Not that anyone will notice that this is a late review, but I let myself down. =(

Anyway...this episode was quite a mish-mash of alot going on. And I'm actually glad for it, because Lie to Me has been so drama heavy (hence why it's a drama) but it's been lacking that element of humor, mainly in Loker. And tonight, they brought it back.

Now we all know what happened in the episode, someone get's shot, someone's set up, and they go searching for the person who planned it all.

We saw Ria a fair bit in the beginning, but she seemed to dissapear completley by the end...same goes for Gillian.
This episode really focused alot on our new, and now gone, character Clara. Even though this is only her 2nd and LAST episode, she apparently had a big role...I must have missed it.
However, I did find myself yelling at Cal for 'getting' with her...every 3-4 episodes he does that. How is he supposed to have a stable relationship with anyone when he's constantly getting with random women all...

Another mind blowing episode for another mind blowing season. I know I sound like a broken record, but it's true. (No pun intended)

And I can tell you, that I am extremley happy to finally have an episode dedicated to Ria and not just the relationship between Cal and Gillian. *Sigh of relief*

Now, I love Ria. In all ways. I think she's an amazing character, and I really wish that she had more screentime, so you can imagine my excitement when she was actually in the show for more than 2 scenes. *Yay*

I had heard roumours(?) about Ria's half sister for a while, and I'm glad to finally see it happen, however I was hoping that it would be more of a story ark, and not just something that occurs in one episode...something that happens alot in this show...
And as it pains me to admit, that is a flaw in this show that really 'urks me.

Let's just say...after a highly emotional, and stressful week, (an explosion next door, a broken arm or two) and an extremley heated conflict and resolution...the next episode acts as if nothing ever happened! It will begin with some mysterious opening scene, and after the title credits role,...

Wow what an episode.
After a week break, I was SO happy that last weeks episode was a re-run, because there was no way I would have been able to write a review...hehe

But this episode was fantastic. As they all have been.
However, something made this episode really stand out from the others, and it wasn't explosions, or shouting, it was the emotional weight it carried.
While we hardly saw ANYTHING of Ria and Eli, Cal and Gillian stole the screen, along with a new, and hopefully short term, student/buiseness partner Clara. (I knew she would stick around at the end of the episode with the amount of screentime she had tonight)

And I know this is off of the 'review' but is it just me, or does Tim look better and better each episode? I mean...tonight he was just...wow.

However, really...I'm simply speechless after tonight's episode. I found myself crying, laughing, and my heart racing. It was the perfect blend of all elements, and if this keeps up, Lie to Me will very quickly join the ranks of House. (Not that it hasn't already, it just isn't as widely recognized as House is, that's all)

Foster was help captive, then is drowned in a lake or a pool. Lightman saves her life by giving her CPR.
Later that night, LIghtman and his daughter are about to eat dinner.
And Foster shows up.
Lightman answers door,
" Hey, um I just wanted to drop off this case file." Foster says.
Lightman gives her a funny look, and takes the file.
"Hey do you want to come in for a moment?" Lightman ask Foster.
"Um it looks like you are about to eat" Foster says observing Lightman's daughter setting the table.
"Yea that's okay, you can eat with us."
Foster pauses for a moment, and says okay.
The three of them have a good dinner, have tons of laughs, and enjoys the rest of the night playing bored games, and watching a movie. Then it's past eleven and Lightman's daughter announces that she is going to bed.
They then show Lightman and Foster standing, and Foster says that she has to go.
"You didn't come here just to drop off the file did you?" Lightman says to Foster as she starts walking to the door.

AKA: The Red Door.
This was another absolute brilliant episode, even if I'm not really a big fan of the war, it's effects, ect. However, the writers did another fantastic job at holding my attention from opening scene to end credits.

From the opening scene I thought I was watching an episode of Criminal Minds, but it quickly took a more psychological turn and Cal took over.
This episode introduced a neat new "Virtual Reality" senario, and Gillian's interest in that area, so I really hope we see more on that rather than just being a one time thing...because let's face it, it WAS really cool.
Eli and Ria didn't have much screentime, but they didn't need it in this one, the story used them all they could, so there's not much to say.
And it was neat how the story pogressed this time around, they kept changing the "Villian" and for a while, actally had me convinced that the guy really WAS crazy. But...he wasn't. Too bad.

I honestly don't know what to say about this episode...it was really good. VERY good.

Zoe returned this week, and I hope to see her stick around for a little longer!
Another week, and another fantastic episode. From what I can recall, this show has never had one single 'bad' episode. Each week, after the most amazing, bone chilling, jaw dropping episode, it comes back with even MORE to give. This show just keeps getting better every week.
And after an episode like last weeks? I don't know how it manages to keep things so fresh, and amazing........but it does.

Now, I've noticed a trend over the past few episodes (including the last few before the 5 month break) and that would be just the ONE story. Just one case to focus on, with 2 different perspectives. The purley scientific perspective, and the personal perspective. And, I must say, I enjoy this format alot more than the 2 cases at once. (Things got confusing very fast)
And even with one case, this show can STILL keep things interesting, and STILL reveal more about the characters, withought the confusing plots. So I'm absolutly stoked to see these past few episodes sticking with the format that makes this show amazing...well, more amazing that it already is.

Why not just call this the Callian episode?
Last weeks episode got us back into the basic swing of things...and this week it reminded us of exactly how much emotion this show can carry. And this episode bared it all. Callian fans will be extatic with this episode, and while I still don't exactly support their ship...I certainly respect it a heck of a lot more.
This episode was all about Cal and Gillian's relationship, nothing more and nothing less. (Unless you count the explosions and guns as 'something more')

I won't run over the episode plot, but I will briefly talk about the key scenes in this episode.

We literally start things off with a bang, but that's to be expected with thi series, there's an explosion at least every other episode.
At first, when Cal and Gillian were caight up in alot of unexpected tension, I had no idea what the heck was going on. But that's what loker and Ria were for, because they knew as much about what was going on as we (the audience) did. However, all I remember doing was freaking out when I saw Loker all bloody...I didn't know I cared about him that much until his life was in danger.

Sorry for the late update, folks! My reviews will be on time next week, I promise. =D

So this won't be long...I'll just keep it short and simple.

I. LOVED. THIS. EPISODE.

That's pretty much it.

--

This is probably my first review when I didn't take any notes, so I won't run over the entire episode, but I will simply talk about how I thought it went...and holy crap, It had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole hour. (Well...43 miunets withought the commercials)

The opening scene was great, and...just everything about this episode was amazing. I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN!!

I loved Tim's haircut...I loved how the episode progressed...........did I mention I loved Tim's haircut?

This episode was brilliant, and the PERFECT combination that makes this show great. Mind you, after 5 months with no Lie to Me, ANYTHING is nice. (You should have seen me when the commercials began airing again)

Well fellow Lie to Me fans...I'm back!! This is just a little update to share with you my feelings on our long wait for the rest of season 2, and to share a quick update with my reviews.

First off, it's GREAT to be back! I was going to start writing out my reviews on Monday, when Lie to Me comes back to wrap up it's 2nd season, but I figred I would get ahead of the game and share how DIFFICULT this wait has been for me!

Now, as you can see by my icon, I did have something else to obsess over (Alice in Wonderland) so it kept me alive through the long absence of my favorite TV show of all time, and now that Alice in Wonderland is out on DVD and House has wrapped up it's 6th season, Lie to Me couldn't come back at a better time!
I'll admit, I was thankful that Lie to Me was no longer on RIGHT after House, so that freed up my Monday's to ENJOY the House episodes alot more, rather than preparing for my episode reviews during House...that and I also got to catch The Big Bang Theory when it actually aired, rather than recording it.

A Game Played Alone

She loved him, but that wasn't enough.

He searched for the truth, but he didn't want to hear it.

She loved him but she wasn't enough.

He wanted poppy, roulette, games, challenge.

She was solitaire, no challenge in that.

Nothing to raise the pulses, kick in the adrenaline.

Why couldn't she be poppy?

Just for one night.

Entice him, excite him.

How would it feel, his hands wrapped in her hair.

His eyes devouring her body as she lay naked on the bed before him.

His body pushing against hers, pushing into hers, harder, deeper.

His stubble raking hers breasts, arousing her nipples in readiness for his mouth to follow, his tongue to caress.

She could wrap her legs around him, pull him in ever deeper, keep him inside her forever.

She wanted to be able to excite him, tease him with her tongue touch him in the right places, in the right ways, whisper the right words in his ear, in his head, move and writhe beneath him, on top of him, finally bringing him to such heights,...

There's an article in this month's Sky Magazine about the second half of Lie To Me, which it says is returning to Sky 1 in Late Spring. It's only a short piece, but I've copied it below.

Love Triangle for Dr Lightman?
When we last saw human behaviour expert Dr Cal Lightman, he was dealing with everything from death threats at a high school to trying to suss if a farmer's plan to blow up the US Treasury Department should be taken seriously. Thankfully, Dr Cal and co have survived their numerous ordeals, and Season Two of Lie To Me will resume in May - but this time it seems the troubles are of the emotional kind...
The focus of the show will shift, and Tim Roth, who plays candid Dr Cal, says we can expect to learn more about each character's past - especially the history between Dr Cal and his ex-wife, Zoe. "Their relationships is hot and heavy!" laughs Tim. "She's very powerful. How Cal relates to her new man being around his daughter is interesting - it will be intriguing to see how that pans out."

As her head shot up from the menu, her eyes met those hazel lasers that were Cal Lightmans eyes.

Realizing that her mouth was open but nothing audible was making an appearance, she quickly closed it.

She was however, unable to break the lock of eyes that Cal had instigated.

“I’ll take that as a no then”

With the total air of authority that always seemed to surround him, the minute Cal raised his hand a waiter seemed to materialise out of thin air.

“Yeah, can I get this table set up for two please, I’ll have a single malt and just bring the bottle of whatever Dr Foster here is drinking – cheers mate”

His instructions were carried out in record time.

“Cal..” Gillian and managed to locate her vocal chords at last but almost immediately was silenced again by ‘the Lightman hand’

“Before you make a start on the dessert section of that menu, could you read this first for me please – Gill”

It was just past 10am when Lightman came storming into the office.

Ignoring all attempts by various members of staff to catch his attention, he made his way straight to the reception.

“I will be in my office – I DO NOT WANT to be disturbed by anyone, or anything for ANY reason.

Is that CLEARLY understood?”

His eyes were almost black with unconcealed anger as he spat out his directions to a slightly shocked, and visibly unnerved member of staff that was ‘holding the fort’ temporarily.

Ignoring the out held hand with his post Lightman had already turned away.

“Oh, but Dr Lightman..theres..DR…”

“I AM NOT INTERESTED”

Cal slammed his door on the stuttering woman.

Dragging his coat off he launched it on to the floor, his thoughts were x- rated, racing through his mind.

Stupid, bloody woman. –Ridiculous, irrational, overly emotional, bloody irritating, MADDENING woman.

After more than a few hours sleep, Gillian had woken to find that the ‘fog’ that had evaded her head in the last 24hrs or so was starting to thin out, just a little.

Ordering a room service breakfast she had re-evaluated her previous, some what ‘knee jerk’ decision to simply use this hotel as a quick staging post before taking off - god knows where, in an effort to further the distance between her and Cal.

The hotel was a good one.

It had a beautiful pool, a totally over indulgent spa section and was set in exquisite surroundings.

There were few guests at this time of year, and so, she had decided to settle here, at least for a while.

After having fortified herself with pancakes and coffee, Gillian took to the phone and booked herself in for a ‘full works’ day.

Complete body massage, facial, relaxation yoga session, and, to top it all off hair, manicure and pedicure.

Satisfied that she had covered all the bases she dressed in casual slacks, a warm sweater and sturdy flats - she had time for a good hours walk in the surrounding woodlands before the pampering began.
