Light Yagami Question

what's up with this name changing thing thing?

Yagami Raito's name is not Light. his name is no where near Light. his name is RAITO YAGAMI. and Ryuuku's name is not Ryuk, it's RYUUKU. or, it's not Yagami Soichiro, it's YAGAMI SOUICHIROU. i think that's all because i only just started chapter 8 so i have no knowledge for any other name changings. that is all for today. thank you and goodbye

*sigh* You're very silly. I can assure you, Light and Ryuk are the proper English translations of their names. Raito and Ryuuku are simply the result of writing their names out in Katakana.

総一郎 should be romanized as Sōichirō, actually, but Souichirou and sometimes Soichiro are used for simplicity's sake.

So please settle down. They're correct with the translations.

It's the English translation. Ratio sounds like "Light-o" so they translated to Light.
