Small theater in Los Angeles has been a hot topic recently as Actors Equity members square-off on just how much the industry can afford to pay them.

Of course, the show must go on – and to prove it 7 Writers, 7 Directors and 7 Actors have all come together to create “L.A. Ronde.”

This special theatrical production will have a three-show run on April 21, 22, & 23, at The Lillian Theater in Los Angeles, benefiting The Elephant Theatre Company and the youth mentoring organization, Create Now.

Pulling from German author Arthur Schnitzler’s original “La Ronde” as inspiration, “L.A. Ronde” examines the struggling small-theater scene in Los Angeles through a series of show-mances, discovering what goes around does indeed come around.

There’s certainly no lack of talent involved in the show:

7 Writers: Shem Bitterman (The Job), Bekah Brunstetter (Switched at Birth), Gloria Calderon Kellett (iZombie, Rules of Engagement, How I Met Your Mother), Adria Lang (Helix, Sons of Anarchy), Nikki McCauley (Side Effects of Barry), Eli Rarey (The Famous Joe Project) and Tom Stanczyk (Block Nine).

7 Directors: Deana Barone (The Trunk Show), Bren Coombs (The Hypnotist), Tony Gatto (Trapped at The Elephant), Eric Hunicutt (The Armando Show), Adam Hunter (Poor Dog Group), Casey Kringlen (Queer Classics) and J. Anthony McCarthy (Castle).

7 Actors: Kim Alexander (The Romantics), Anita Curran (Virtual Reality), Kate Huffman (Fresh Off the Boat), Scott Krinsky (Chuck), Ethan Rains (NCIS), Adam Simon (Tracers at The Elephant) and Pagan Urich (Star Girls Burlesque).

From the looks of this show, small theater is alive and well in Los Angeles. Now, let's just hope they can find a way to keep the doors open!
