When Damon is talking to Mrs. lockwood,he uses his technic to listen to Tyler & Mason's conversation, knowing that Tyler has the anger issue very often.

Damon has a plan on Mason by inviting him to Jenna's BBQ.

I hardly watch this scene the second time. Mason manages to lock himself for not hurting other people when full moon is rising. Mason is a werewolf with a heart and some fans describe his character like Werewolf Stefan:)
