PT Boat skipper McHale is lionized by his crew in hopes that a visiting congresswoman will choose him (and his crew) for a public relations tour back in the states. Crew learns that (if chosen) only McHale (and not the crew) will go on tour.

McHale is saved from a desertion charge by his cousin Guiseppe.
