*~*~Chapter one: A Starlit Meeting~*~*
Epic's newest recording artist, Brianna Wilson, was in the recording studio laying down some tracks for her first album. It was late November 1986, a week from her 21st birthday.
She began to grow tired and decided she needed to go home to get some rest. She signaled for her producer to cut the music. Stepping out of the sound booth on to the red, plush ,carpet of the mixing room, she stretched with a soft yawn.
"That's all for tonight Jacob, I feel like I could fall out in the floor I'm so tired..."
She stood at about 5"6, sort of on the short side. Her long, black, hair hung just 4 inches below her shoulders. It was obvious she was exhausted because it showed in her hazel eyes. Grabbing her jacket, she began to put it on, as Jacob called out to her.
"Brianna you know we have to get this finished by Monday, so the company can review it."
After zipping her black jacket, she'd look to him."Well, yes I know, but I won't be able to sing if I'm falling asleep at the mic."
Jacob ran his long fingers through his short, curly, locks of blonde hair. The man was stunning! He had deep blue eyes that could have any women trembling at the knees.
"I guess you're right. Go get some rest and we will start again tomorrow bright and early at around... 7:30?"
He'd smile going easy on her knowing how tiring the business could be...even though he sat on his ass all day just listening to the singers and musicians working their asses off ,and he got paid for it. He didn't complain, but who would? It was easy money in his eyes.
Brianna smiled, beginning to leave the building:"Ok, see you then Jacob, and thanks."
"No problem," he said as a shimmer ran across his blue eyes. "Just get some rest."
With that, Brianna left the studio. Walking out into the chilly November air, she sighed. Chilbumps rose on her skin as she'd tried to unlock her car door. Quickly realizing she left her purse, which had her keys in it, inside. Laughing softly at herself, she shook her head.
She really needed to slow down a bit. Since she met the executive that brought her talent to Epic's attention, everything has been moving constantly. Meetings, photo ops, recording sessions, et cetera. It was all go, go, GO! She was so excited to go get some rest, she forgot all about grabbing her purse.
After getting her purse and taking the time out to find her keys, while still indoors, she didn't rush out the door. This time she decided to take a moment to live in the moment. Looking up, her hazel eyes filled with the stars' light as she strolled along. She couldn't remember a time in the last couple of months that she had taken to time to do something normal, like star gaze or take in any outdoor beauty. Sighing, continued towards are ride and ......... BANG! She ran into something, or someone rather...
After knocking into whatever she ran into, she fell backwards, onto the cold ground. She was about to snap on the person before her, but all she could see was leather shoes. Her eyes drifted up the person's legs encased in tight black slacks. A hand would reach down to her as an angelic voice rang in her ears.
The voice was like water, like rain. Shockingly familiar, yet unbelievable.
"Woah, are you ok?... I wasn't watching where I was going.. I'm sorry."
She'd slowly grab onto the outstretched hand and stood to her feet.
When her eyes fell upon this individual's face, she almost gasped. Her heart melted, as she got caught in big, chocolate eyes and dazzled by a bright, white, smile. The smile so perfectly white, that it matched the white, button up, shirt he wore.
She must have taken too long to respond because he had to ask her again.
"Are you alright miss?"
She'd shake out of it and slowly let go of his hand still starring at him. In her mind, she was hoping she didn't make this seem too awkward. This was totally not the impression she wanted to make, nor the way she wanted to meet one of her idols.
"Uh.. yes.. I am...I'm fine..It's truly my fault. I was to busy looking up at the stars to pay attention to where I was going."
"Yes, they are brilliant tonight. I was admiring them myself."
He looked up at the sky and smiled turning his attention back to the girl in front of him.
"Michael Jackson.."
Introducing himself, he held out his hand once again this time to shake with hers.
"I... I know.."
She'd smile and took and shook his outstretched hand. So much for not being awkward.
"And your name is?"
"Oh.. I'm Brianna... Brianna Wilson"
"Well, it's nice to meet you Miss Brianna Brianna Wilson"
He'd joke and bit his bottom lip watching her.
She'd quake at his sexy gesture and had to look away from him so she wouldn't lose her mind.
"It's nice to meet you to Mr. Jackson."
"Call me Michael, and are you new here? I've never seen you around before."
"Yeah, you could say that..."
They stood there in the silence of the night until a voice pierced the night air.
"Yo Mike, come on we got work to do"
Michael and Brianna looked towards Michael's manager, who was standing near the entrance of the building.
Michael would sigh looking back to Brianna.
"I'm sorry but, duty calls."
She'd smile, then shrugged.
"I understand. I'm calling it quits for the night."
"It was nice meeting you Brianna. See you around?"
His tone seemed almost hopeful.
"Um, yeah sure"
Smiling at him, she tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear.
He'd smile brightly again sliding his hands into his pockets. Even though he seemed a bit shy or maybe embarrassed about the situation, himself, he tried to look as if he was composed and cool. He starred her up and down, as if he admired more than the stars they were watching a moment ago.
"Well then, I'll see you later, Brianna"
"A-huh, see ya later."
She'd answer back, before turning away. After she got inside her black Mustang GT, away from eyesight, she still felt tingly. The experience was surreal, but not what she thought it would be. Of course, she knew they'd meet up here at some point, but not like this. She groaned, resting her head on the steering wheel. She silently vowed to herself that the next time she saw the one and only Michael Jackson, she'd make a better impression.....hopefully.

~*~ The Next Morning, at Brianna’s apartment~*~
After tossing and turning most of the night, Brianna woke up early, around 6:30am. She did not get much sleep at all, since she stayed up half the night thinking about her encounter with Michael. Her mind would just not stop reeling and processing a million thoughts a minute. Would she be able to make a better impression next time? Would she get to work with the guy on the poster taped to her bedroom door, one of her idols? Was he single? She smirked, shaking her head at the final thought.
Rolling over in her bed, she groaned, knowing she had to get up. She scampered across the plush, purple carpeted, bed room floor and into the bathroom.
The warm shower she took didn't help bring her to life as much as she hoped it would. She was still groggy and tired, so she decided to dress in something comfortable. From previous experience, she found out the studio is very quiet this early in the morning, so she’d have more time to focus and get some work done. Epic was pushing for this debut album to be huge, but to be wrapped up quicker than she figured they would. Throwing on a pair of cut up bluejeans and a black hoodie, she headed towards her mirror. Without giving it too much effort, she threw her long, ebony waves of hair up into a pony tail and skipped any thought of make -up.
Once she locked up her home, she hopped into her car and headed towards the studio. She was a bit of a dare devil, when it came to speeding down the highway. Of course, she was also that kind of girl that would sing her heart out and dance while driving. Thankful she was now singing to way more than just a steering wheel, she pulled in the parking lot. Brianna stepped from the car and walked into the building, and as she had seen before, these were the quiet hours. Looking at the clock, she found out she had a good 15 minutes before her recording sessions would start, so she walked into the snack and concession room and grabbed herself a bottled Dr. Pepper. Plopping down at a nearby table she'd begin to sip on it, ready for that kick of caffeine to kick in.
~*~* Earlier at Michael's House~*~*
"Dam.. I mean dang it, I'm gonna be late!.." Michael was in a rush as usual, even though he had so much time. He'd take a quick shower and threw on a clean pair of black slacks. Shirt after shirt flew from his closet, onto his bed room floor. After making a big mess, he'd find a nice red button up shirt and put it on, tucking it into his black slacks. He grabbed a black leather jacket, throwing it on, as he literally ran down the stairs. Slicking back his hair into a pony tail, he grabbed the phone dialing frantically.
The phone would ring for a while before another male voice answered.
"Hello" the voice on the other end answered, sounding groggy.
"Hey man! it's me Mike where are you?"
"You said you had to be at the studio at 9.....Michael it's 6:00...."
Michael would let out a slow sigh,
"Well you know I like to be early"
The other voice would take a second to yawn then said.
"Iight... I'll be there to pick you up in about 10 minutes. Don't go haywire and get too rushed and end up forgetting to wear any underwear again"
Michael looked down, taking a second to think.
"Dang it..."
The voice on the other end laughed.
"You did....didn't you"
Michael hung up the phone, rolling his eyes. He went back upstairs to put on some "underwear" and came back down stairs.
After another mirror check, he sat back on the couch.
"What's taking him so long?"
He'd look at his watch and sighed, sitting back.
After about 8 minutes, the honk of his limo's horn was his que that it was finally time to head out. He slipped into his seat, tucking a loose, curly strand behind his ear. The driver just laughed a bit. Luckily, he and Michael had somewhat of a friendship.
"Did you take care of your "problem" ?"
"Aw, shut up man..."
Michael said, his cheeks turning red from embarrassment.
The limo ride, from that point on, was silent until they reached the studio.
Michael got out of the limo and walked inside the building seeing he was earlier than he expected to be ....again. Only a few cars were in the parking lot, and the building was still very quiet. He decided to grab a drink and maybe a honey bun or something. As he pushed open the double door to the concessions room, he noticed the girl from last night, Brianna. She was still sitting at a table drinking a Dr. Pepper. He hadn't forgotten the sound of her sweet, southern accent and the way she made him feel as if he known her forever, somehow. There was like a quiet storm type of feeling. In other words, he knew this could be something wild and intense, but could still either be a good or a bad thing. He wasn’t really one to think with what was hardening in his pants, but he decided to go for it. Instantly he'd begin the think of a catchy lyric in his head writing a song in his thoughts ""The way you make me feel…hmm I gotta work with that.""
~*~Brianna's Point of View~*~
Hearing the doors swing open, she slowly lifted her head, turning it in that direction. For a moment, she almost thought she was dreaming, when she saw that image of sexiness, Michael Jackson, walk through the door.
"OMG!... and I look HORRIABLE!!" She'd scream inside her head, as she'd watch him head to a machine getting a drink himself.
"Maybe he won't see me…yeah right." Her mind was screaming about how she failed to make a good impression, yet again, but then changed into a panic as he turned towards her. Something about his presence was kind of intoxicating. She felt as if she was melting when he smiled a dazzling smile, in her direction.
"OH NO HE'S COMEING THIS WAY! S-stay strong, smile girl! Don’t be awkward!" Her internal prep talk ended, when he spoke up.
"Hi" He'd say sitting in a seat across from her. "Hey.." She'd manage to choke out.
"So you workin' today" She'd swallow a sip of Dr. Pepper, trying to also swallow the lump in her throat. "Yeah.. I am.." "So where are you from?... Santa Barbara...Beverly Hills?" She'd giggle, knowing it was obvious she wasn’t. This had to mean he was just trying to spark up a conversation. This warmed her up a bit, so she giggled softly and found her ability to speak again. "Not even close...I'm from Alabama...I just moved here to further my career" He'd tilt his head and leaned in a bit closer, showing some interest. "Oh really?!...My mother's from Alabama, originally." Dear God did he smell amazing! She bit her bottom lip, crossing her legs, trying to clear the dirty thoughts ravaging her mind. Good things her panties couldn’t talk.
"Oh.. awesome..." She'd smile, thinking ""ok girl you got it hang in there...""
"So, a pretty woman like you must have someone out here with her…. friends or family…" He couldn’t even fathom her being taken, but this was some details he had to know. Regardless, he was going to try his damnedest to claim her, as his own. "Well, I am out here by myself pretty much..." Exactly what he wanted to hear. With the confirmation she was single, he couldn’t hide his smile
"Oh..?" Before he thought about his next move, she gave him the perfect ammo.
"I usually don't have a problem with it, but my birthday is coming up Saturday, and there's no way I'm gonna be able to go home for it." She sighed a bit, thinking about how ringing in her 22nd birthday was going to be, alone. Probably, she’d end up ordering take out or something. Maybe crack open a bottle.
"Do you have anything planned?" Looking back up at him, she shook her head. Where is he going with this? "No not really…why?" Deciding to just jump right in, he shrugged and made his intentions known. "Well, I could do something for you ...maybe...take you out to eat somewhere? You know, show you a good time?"
Shivers ran down her spine, as he bit his lip, looking at her with the sexiest expression she’d witnessed in her entire life. Maybe she was starstuck, or maybe he was just fueling the lust that was already burning inside her. After almost gasping at the thought of him showing her a “good time,” she smiled. "Ok...sounds nice…That’s awful kind of you. I’d love that." “Great!" He smiled, almost amazed it was that easy. This new persona of a bad boy he was trying to portray was paying off. "Maybe we can talk about details later?" With that, she shrugged and answered him, her Alabama accent shining through."Iight, I ain't got a problem with that.” She'd look at the big clock over the machines, then grabbed her purse, digging for a pen. “Well…I'm sorry to leave you, but it's time for me to meet up with my producer and get to work." Finding the pen she smirked, gently grabbing his hand. Raising an eyebrow, he watched her write her phone number on his hand. “However…call me and I’ll talk to you later.” Instead of leaving instantly, as she planned, she watched him grab her hand and bring it up to his lips, planting a soft kiss on her skin. Something so sweet and innocent, but it literally made her feel like she was on fire. How bad would it look if she just tackled him right now? She laughed softly, trying to dismiss coming across the table between them. “I couldn’t say no to that…” he admitted, his eyes locking with hers. “I’ll be waiting for you.” She smiled, standing to her feet, walking towards the door.
