Duchess, an amber furred she cat, sunned herself in the patch of light in her Twoleg home. Her kits, Tiger, Hawk, and Sage wrestled nearby. They were in the same litter. Tiger was the oldest, then came Hawk, then Sage. Tiger and Sage had cream fur; the latter with amber eyes and her sister with green. Hawk had amber fur like his mother; he and Tiger had stripes in their fur. But Hawk, unlike his sisters, had blue eyes which were the exact shade of the water in the ocean.
