my opinon is that the show is better and ive read every book. Dominic sherwood makes a good jace wayland.
im so happy they desided to make it a show because it really brings the book to life. when u see magnus and his layer your eyes get wide because its so shiney and colorful.in the show issabelle is kick ass with her whip and clarry is just learning how to make runes.my favorite rune is heal because when jace gets attacked by that demon its the only thing that keeps him going .rock on jace!!!

I feel that the show is better because there is an actual plot, things are clear, the cast is better, Isabelle's wardrobe is better, Jace is hotter, and the cast doesn't have British accents. Not that they're not nice, but for a story set in America? Not so much. In the movie, Jace looks like a guy who wants to mug you. The show is better because I love suspense and it keeps me excited. Also, the movie didn't focus on Malec as much as it should have. The ratings for the show are better than the ratings for the movie.

When I first saw the preview of
Mortal Instruments: City of Bones I thought it would be like any other movie. You see it once and then you don't see it again. I would have never thought It would be about the cutest guy ever Jace Wayland ( Jamie Campbell Bower ) and the prettiest girl ever Clary Fray ( Lily Collins). So basically its about an ordinary teenager who soon discovers that she is a Shadowhunter, she's half-angel who come from a line of warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect the world from demons. Once her mom disappears she must join a group of Shadowhunters ( Isabelle, Jace, and Alec ) to find her mother not knowing Valentine has her and also not knowing along the way they have to face demons, warlocks, werewolves, vampires and other creatures. Even though in the book and movie there are some differences. They both are awesome to watch and read.

Look at this thing I drew on my hand!
Watching the first installment of the big-screen adaption of Cassandra Clare’s best-selling young adult fantasy novel, The Mortal Instruments, felt very much like watching the first Twilight film. To me, that meant laughing loudly at parts that were probably not intended to be comical and cringing at what may only be described as extremely cheesy romantic scenes. However, that withstanding, I should point out that the production value, acting and special effects were much better for The Mortal Instruments, now that Hollywood has learned that it is worth it to invest some big bucks in young adult novels.

Clary (as portrayed by the very thick-eye browed Lily Collins) gets a distressing call from her mother (Queen Cersei! I mean, Lena Headey) and then finds out she has disappeared, leaving their Brooklyn apartment in shambles. Conveniently, this black leather attired guy named Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower) followed her home from the night before and informs her she is not a mundane (normal human or Muggle) but a Shadowhunter, someone who is half angel and born to slay demons. Jace takes her to this old Gothic cathedral in New York where she meets some fellow hunters,...

Which characters are the best role models in The Mortal Instruments?

Cassandra Clare: Each has something different to teach people

How hard was it doing stunts? Was it difficult to recover?

Jamie Campbell Bower: Very difficult and no I’m still sore and going back to do No. 2 (City of Ashes)

Best joke on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones set?

Jamie: We had a lot of private ones, but none made much sense. I was probably the biggest joker

Favorite and least favorite things about Jace?

Cassie: Fave – that he’s loyal. Least fave he doesn’t think when he acts

Jamie: Most fave vulnerability, least fave – the same as Cassie

How did the idea of this book series (The Mortal Instruments) come about?

Cassie: I was inspired after going to magical New York City

You said that Lily (Collins) is amazing as Clary. What was your favorite scene with her?

The year 2014 is going to be a busy one for Shadowhunters.

Not only is City of Heavenly Fire set to be released in the spring, but The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes is set to be distributed worldwide next year.

Executive producer Martin Moszkowicz shared the news on Twitter:

"The Mortal Instruments - City of Ashes set up for worldwide distribution in 2014. Bye, bye Cannes..."

Mister Smith Entertainment came to Cannes Film Festival looking to shop numerous titles, including The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes, the sequel to this summer’s highly-anticipated The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (out Aug. 21). And they locked up deals.

Moszkowicz told Varietyon Tuesday that distributors of City of Bones were interested in City of Ashes, so expect some of the same distributors to release City of Ashes.

“Everybody who has the first movie wants the second movie. We’re dealing with the details,” producer Moszkowicz said.

Last month we reported that Gabriel Yared was no longer involved in recording the score for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and that he was replaced by the Icelandic composer Atli Örvarsson.

According to Atli’s facebook page, the score for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is being recorded right now in the famous Abbey Road studios in London.

Miss Lily Collins sat down with Collider and talked about the passionate fans of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, working on The English Teacher (out May 17, U.S), looking forward to filming Love, Rosie and much more.

The indie dramedy The English Teacher tells the story of Linda Sinclair (Julianne Moore), a 40-year-old, unmarried high school English teacher in small town Pennsylvania. With no children and no relationships to speak of, her life is uncomplicated, which is just how she likes it. Her greatest passion and her biggest fulfillment comes from helping her impressionable young students discover their own creative voices, until a former star student (Michael Angarano) returns and threatens to undo it all.

Collider: How did you come to be a part of this film? Was this a role you auditioned for, or did they come to you about doing this?

LILY COLLINS: I read the script and I was drawn to the tone of the story. I thought it could go so many different ways, depending on how the director wanted to take it and whether they wanted to hype up the comedy aspect of make it more dramatic. So, I had a meeting with Craig [Zisk],...

Fans of The Mortal Instruments book series can rest easy: Lily Collins, who’ll bring Clary Fray to life on screen, is just as obsessed with Cassandra Clare’s books as you are. (“Join the club!” she says with a laugh.) Collins, who was cast as Fray over two years ago, has been a fan of Clare’s work for quite some time. Now the story, which centers around a young girl who discovers a brand-new (to her) supernatural world, is finally coming to the big screen this summer, with a cast that includes Jared Harris and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

“The special effects and the CGI are going to be incredible, but it’s not a film based on that,” Collins says. “It just adds to the other elements of the film. We’ve kept the humor [from the book], and we’ve really made it about human emotion and character. I’m just excited to see the action and giggle and swoon over the romance. I hope that everyone loves it as much as I loved making it. I would love to play Clary over and over again.”

This is one of the best book series there is. Although recently Hollywood came out with a advertisement for this book. In my own opinion, I do not think that it should become a movie because in the past film makers have turned great books into movies and in doing so have completely destroyed imaginations for the characters. Take Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The book was FANTASTIC! Yet the movie was awful. Everyone had a bad comment or scene that they did not like. I'm just saying, that maybe people should reconsider this.

So I was looking over things on twitter and City of Glass and came across this passage,

Alec glanced toward the mini-forest, the colored lights reflecting in the blue irises of his eyes. Magnus stood in the shadow of a tree, talking to a girl in a white dress with a cloud of pale brown hair. She turned as Magnus looked toward them, and Clary locked eyes with her for a moment across the distance that separated them. There was something familiar about her, though Clary couldn't have said what it was. Magnus broke away and came toward them, and the girl he'd been talking to slipped into the shadows of the trees and was gone. (pg. 525 in CoG)

So I have been doing a lot of research on who this mystery girl is and I came across Cassie's FAQ where she confirms this to be in fact Tessa Gray from Infernal Devices

Why Tessa is there, Cassie says whether she is immortal or a ghost, and why she is talking to Magnus, is a mystery at this time that will be sorted out in later books.

Introduction
Cassandra Claire began posting The Draco Trilogy, a Harry Potter fanfic, on FanFiction.Net in 2000, and became extremely well known in the Harry Potter fan fiction community for her work. Though she was known to have plagiarized from June 2001, the full extent of the plagiarism was not public knowledge until 2006. The debate over whether or not Cassandra Claire was a plagiarist caused a schism in the Harry Potter fandom that lasted several years.

The Full Story
In mid-June 2001, Avocado e-mailed Cairnsy, an administrator at FanFiction.Net, with evidence that Cassandra Claire had inserted, without citation, a significant portion of fantasy writer Pamela Dean's work into the ninth chapter of Draco Sinister, the second installment of The Draco Trilogy:

In particular:
There was a reference to "Fire Letters" in an early chapter of Draco Sinister
There was a footnote in chapter 9 which said "Credit for the inspiration for this conception of the wizarding afterlife goes to a book called The Secret Country, alas, I no longer recall who wrote it." (My reaction upon seeing the footnote was "Pamela Dean wrote it, and Ted...

There have been many recent rumors flying around the internet, some of them true, some of them false, as to who will play the characters of the upcoming Mortal Instruments series. This is my cast list, as of now, that is most likely subject to change over the coming weeks.

Jace Wayland - Alex Pettyfer
-Though it hasn't been confirmed yet, there are a lot of people that would like to see Alex play Jace. He is also in talks of playing Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games, but I think the character of Jace is a role that he could perfect. When reading the books, Alex was the first person I imagined as Jace.

Clary Fray - Lily Collins
-It's official; Lily Collins has been cast as Clary. I have to say that I was a little disappointed that they didn't choose a natural redhead to play Clary, but I'm happy with the choice of Lily all the same. I think she will do a great job.

Simon Lewis - Thomas Dekker
-When choosing an actor to play Simon, I considered not only if he would look good standing next to Clary/Lily, but also with Isabelle. They have an almost-fling in the book and I think it's important to get that right. Thomas would look...

'Izzy, that stuff is in the past, it doesn't matter."
"Isabelle?'' Simon asked. He opened the door to Isabelle's room a little more. It had been a week since they got back from Alicante. Izzy hadn't come out of her room since the battle. Probably still mourning over Max.

At first Simon reconsidered stepping into the room. He remembered back to the last time he and Isabelle were alone in a room together. The results were...interesting. Not really something Simon wanted to experience for awhile though.

The room was dark. Izzy must had dimed the lights. The only light that came through the window was the brilliant orange that streaked through the blinds. It was late evening and the sun was setting. The whole sky was either orange or pink. Simon had always been fascinated by the evening sky. It was a beautiful sight. Apparently, Isabelle must have thought so too.

She sat in the bay window, her legs pulled up to her chest. Her long, jet-black hair cascaded down her shoulders. It had grown a little since Simon first saw her. Isabelle just sat there, staring out the window. The colored lights reflected off her brown eyes, making them sparkle. Simon took a step closer. He heard something squeak. One of...

CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS COMES OUT ON 31ST MARCH 2011!!!!

City of Fallen Angels takes place several months after the events of City of Glass. In City of Fallen Angels, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary's plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

I resently finished City of Glass and i don't how u guys felt but when Jace died it was 4 me the most shocking thing that happened in the series, besides discovering that Jace and Clary were brothers and then when they realized that they weren't brothers after all. my fave scene of the third book has 2 b when he tells her that he luvs her. that was like so, so, very sweet of him. and i just hate the part where Sebastian out of nowhere kisses Clary right in the mought even thought at the time he knew they were brother and sister. i think that is so duscusting of him, he was so annoying. anyway, what that in the end Jace says 2 Clary "you forbid me of doing this" or something like that and i have no idea what he means by that can someone tell me? in fact im going right now. see u later.

XOXO

Alexa Vega as "Clary Fray"
Clary Fray, Alexa Vega.... she's cute and if we Dye the hair red....perfect!!!

WOW When i was reading the first Mortal Instrument book City Of Bones, at the first descriptian of jace Wayland the first person i thought of and i dont know why is Kyle Schmid. Its funny because i only saw him in one movie, The Cheetah Girls. Im not a fan of them at all but the boy from the first movie left a lasting impression, and it took me forever to find out his name.

Simon....Oliver James....just picture glasses. If he could put away his sexy accent and talk like a geek, he'd be perfect. Especially when he becomes a vampire. hahah

Isabelle Lightwood.....Cassie Steele. She is super hot, can deffinatly pull of dangerous and, looks alot like my choice for alec!!!!!

Alec Lightwood.....Adamo Ruggerio. He is really cute, matches the Alec description, and is gay in real life!!!!!! Amazing choice...looks like Cassie Steele!!!!
