ROCKY
With minimum resources and low on cash, this movie was an underdog in itself!. Stallone wrote it and had to “fight” to play Rocky. When they didn’t have the money, they changed the story all together and…. haha it WAS better!. The story is, to me, flawless and keeps me on the edge of my seat every time. Yeah,,,sure,, You can come along with deep, dramatic and artistic films. Films about true life. Fancy stuff with the greatest special effects ever shown. creative plots written by the best-payed writers you can find.<laughing to myself/>Let’s get Kubrick. Gimme Scorsese. Yank Kurosawa.in here!! Throw in Coppola too!. Hurry, Leone. Bring'em all in. Meanwhile I’m going to sit here on my cushy couch with my shoes on the couch table and tell them that the script and the performance that some nobody. ,,, Some broke Italian cafone touched and moved me more than all of them ever did!! Rocky is kind of a religion. Rocky’ is going to be there for you. When ya just can’t do anymore, try anything anymore, when you're plain crap on the floor, then Rocky is the film that WILL lift you up. The simple plot/story of this naive bum from Philadelphia, who had a miserable life with one little sparkle in the darkness, which he took hold of and wouldn’t let go of till it ignited!!.
The will is the most powerful force in the world, Rocky Balboa showed us. And dang, every time he does it again, I feel a chill run up my back and I say quietly "Go and get em, “Rocky”. All in all it’s about a man. It’s the story of a man who exceeds past all normal expectations and makes the most out of what he is doing. What is he doing? Boxing. Why? Well like he says in the film, "You have to be a moron to want to box."----ya gotta love him.
Rocky fought for this triumphant movie that made me want to go the distance (sounds corny but its true). It made me strive when I was younger, to work harder and not give up. If you haven't seen this, buy it and watch it. I'll guarantee it will change you too this is my favorite movie of all-time because I feel better about myself after every viewing. I don't know about you, but that has to mean something.
My daughter is a member of FanPop,, she will testify what a Rocky fan I am, from my Rocky boxing trunks/shorts <no kidding/> to my original signed 81 LeRoy Neiman of ‘Sly”. But I believe IMHO that the character that is "Rocky" has made a profound effect on many people’s lives and has proved that anyone who is anyone can overcome a struggle in their life no matter what the exact problem is
