I guess you 're asking which one best matches the play, the story in general,so I think it is Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet(1968).His movies always respect the original source of the story.

What book are you asking about? Romeo and Juliet isn't a book it's a play by William Shakespeare losely based on an old Italian poem. Are you asking if a one of the many films matches a specific book because if so, you'd like to read it or are you asking which best represents the play?

I am a HUGE FAN of the 1968 version of "Romeo & Juliet" by the Awesome Italian Director/Producer, Franco Zeffirelli. Most all of the Movie Critics have acclaimed that the 1968 "Romeo & Juliet" was not only Magnificent, but it was "THE BEST VERSION" of that story, and came the closest to what & how William Shakespeare had written, and envisioned of it.

This "to me" IS the ONLY VERSION of "Romeo & Juliet" to watch, if you like "Shakespeare," you've got it all here!! :D

Love,

Juliet
