Just in time for Valentine’s Day…the new traditional romance film “Old Fashioned” is hitting theaters.

Actress Anne Marie Nestor hopes to heal her broken heart in this new indie from writer, director and star Rik Swartzwelder. “Old Fashioned” tells the story of traditional courtship between a former frat boy, who gives up his reckless lifestyle, and a free-spirited young woman with a restless soul.

I recently caught up with Anne Marie to find out more.

Tell us about your role in “Old Fashioned.”

ANNE MARIE: I play the role of Kelly, the lead character Clay's (Swartzwelder) college love. Recently separated from her husband, Kelly comes back into Clay's life seeking solace to heal her broken heart.

What would you consider your characters ‘best’ quality? And their ‘worst’?

ANNE MARIE: The character is an influence in Clay's life that is shown throughout the film and one of the primary motivations for his unconventional views on romance. She has a positive impact on his views regarding relationships, but reappears later in his life at a less than ideal time.

The story has attracted attention for being a “clean” romance – what’s your thoughts on this type of storytelling?

ANNE MARIE: It is a unique voice in today's cinema. Being able to build a relationship between the lead characters over the course of the film with words and expressions instead of physical actions is challenging, but well executed. It has a positive underlying message that is told in a pure way throughout the film.

What’s the biggest lesson you learned from working on this project?

ANNE MARIE: The amount of dedication that it takes to create a film such as this. Between the writing, casting, filming, distribution, it was nearly a 15 year experience for the director and writer Rik. For me, it will be an experience that I will always remember, but the labor of love demonstrated by the team is astonishing.

And, now just for fun:

What’s your favorite food?
ANNE MARIE: Red grapes

Cats or dogs?
ANNE MARIE: Both!

Favorite movie from your childhood.
ANNE MARIE: The Dark Crystal

Tell us one thing that would surprise our readers to learn about you.
ANNE MARIE: I had a pet boa constrictor when I was growing up and thought about becoming a herpetologist.

How can fans keep up with you?

If you live in the U.K. then you’re probably already familiar with actor Adam Croasdell from his turn on the wildly popular show “East Enders.” But, if you’re here in the States, like me, then you’re just getting to know this handsome and talented Brit from across the pond.

In theaters now, Adam is starring as real-life Col. Elmer Ellsworth in the newly released historical film “Saving Lincoln.” And, he’s been popping up this year as ‘bad guys’ in the popular television shows “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Nikita.” He’s also appeared in ABC’s “Body of Proof” and...

The newly released coming-of-age film “October Baby” is certainly causing a stir with its life-affirming message, and I recently had a chance to chat with one of the stars of the film JASON BURKEY.

Jason has been building a solid resume and racking up performance awards on the indie festival circuit, including the Heartland Film Festival’s coveted Jimmy Stewart Memorial Crystal Heart Award and Envision Film Festival’s Best Actor Award for his performance in “Thin Ice”; and Best Actor accolades for his performance in the indie films “Date This” and “Moment of Truth.”

Jason...

Now I realize that some movies deserve the hate. But really isn't it all up to each individual. I honestly don't know why we have critics for anything. They are humans like us and what makes their opinion more valid and noteworthy than someone elses. But take the " Cars" movies for instance, I enjoy them cause I think talking cars and a world full of car stuff is just cute. But it has become a bashing platform. Same with Transformers and Twilight. I personally don't care for Transformers or Twilight, but someone out there does. And yes I have bashed the Twilight movies, but most of the time...
