It’s 1977 and four college friends who parted ways years ago have reunited for what’s supposed to be a raucous bachelor party. Instead, time has brought a few changes and they find themselves on a treasure hunt down Kentucky’s bluegrass bourbon trail. The story starts simple and slowly unfolds into a twisted maze of greed, guilt and murder.

This is “Bullitt County” -- the new indie film currently in limited theaters by AMC Independent and set to launch on VOD/DVD in early 2019.

Keeping up with the men, the only female amongst the once tight-knit group is the wiseass Robin -- played keenly by actress Jenni Melear.

"I loved exploring the intellectual and societal realities of being a strong, intelligent woman in the 1970s,” Jenni explains. “I revisited some great feminist works in my preparation like ‘The Feminine Mystique’, and was blown away by how they still resonate in today's political climate."

The film was praised on the festival circuit, nabbing a nomination for Best Feature Film when it premiered at Austin last year. Jenni earned nominations for Best Actress at Hoboken and Catskill fests for her performance and the film took home Best Feature Film awards at New Jersey, Catalina, Macon and Hoboken film festivals.

Think you’ve seen Jenni before? Well, you might remember her from stints on Fox's "New Girl" and Disney Channel’s "Shake it Up." If you’re a film festival junkie, then you’ll certainly recall her onscreen debut at the Tribeca Film Festival opposite Oscar nominee James Cromwell in the short "A .45 at 50th"; or perhaps from starring in the feature film "Dead Dad," celebrated at over 25 film festivals worldwide.

Jenni is also proving a talented hyphenate, writing, producing and starring in the award-winning short "Funny Love," which premiered at the Dances with Films Festival. Dipping her toe further in the creative arena this year, Jenni directed the Hollywood Fringe Festival’s Audience Choice Award winning one-man show "Baby Boy."

As co-founder of the production company, House MacLeod, Jenni strives to create strong roles for women of all ages and backgrounds.
