That's what I was thinking. If anything, people should be proud of Derpy, she has mental disabilities, and yet she is able to not only function in society, but also makes friends. She's loved, she has an important job (she delivers mail, if I'm not mistaken) and she's not ashamed of herself. I think she's a great role model to the disabled. People who say her name is offensive are simply mistaken, and know nothing about internet culture. Derp, to me, and most people means something like "oops, I made a mistake" and nothing to do with being retarded.
