Mysteries of the Mona Lisa

Okay so we all know that the Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci. But we don't know who that woman actually is. Her name is Lisa Gherardini the faithful wife of Francesco del Giocondo. Now why was she so important to paint? Oddly enough finding information on Francesco was difficult. He isnt that well known only his wife.

Francesco was a Florentine silk merchant. That was all that i could find. Why the lack of information on this man? So i looked harder. I did find that Mona Lisa was his third wife. Here is the shocker. Francesco was imprisoned and fined. It had something...

I have been obsessed with studying and learning about
the Mona Lisa since age four and as I've gotten older, my thoughts and theories about who she really is has matured as well. I, for one, was smart and researched about her and her life in the Renaissance period. All my life, I have wondered,
"Who is she? Was she real? Is she a figment of Leonardo Da Vinci's mind and/or fantasies? Is she even really a woman at all?"

Possibly, most people, especially art lovers, have pondered this repeatedly over and over in their minds. What is true about this...
