i always thought it was funny that they named one of them morton koopa jr. -- no one knows who morton downey jr is, but he was a talk show host and on his show people would yell a lot (like most debate shows on cable news today). his fans were called "loudmouths"

incidentally morton koopa jr. is also called "big mouth koopa jr."
