Those few frames of film speak volumes. There's something so intimate about the way Odo is zipping up her dress and something so demanding and possessive about the way he kisses her shoulder - as if he's claiming her as his (me Tarzan - you Jane!). In Kira's expression we see her acknowledgment of that claim and with her smile the promise of what will come later.

That was a precious moment, especially in light of the fact that it shows Odo & Kira are even closer now (following Chimera). And, ironically, in that same ep, Kira is amused by the fact that Odo seems distracted by the female dancers onstage ... and even more when he's embarrassed by it. She's not worried about him or his love for her. His kiss of her shoulder tells her, basically, "Honey, you look sexy as hell, and we can't finish this now ... but after we take down Frankie Eyes, you're mine." Not only that, but it shows Odo's own growth -- because Kira has to flirt with and distract in whatever way possible Frankie Eyes (a slimey human version of Dukat, IMO) ... it's part of their plan. He's wishing her luck, saying, "You can do it." And it's BOTH of them working as a team to thank the person who helped get them together. His look is radiating pure heat though!

Yeah, an entire story was told in those couple of seconds. And it really cements them as a couple in ways we earth-bound folk can understand. As beautiful and wondrous as "Chimera" was, it had an ethereal quality. This scene is a guy and his girl getting dressed up to go out on the town. Even if it is to a holosuite and their purpose is to 'off' a hologram!

There's also something poignant in that moment as well. This was the last time anyone, especially Odo and Kira, got to have any fun. After this episode life got very gritty and dark and dirty as the Dominion ratcheted up the war effort, and then Odo gets the Changeling virus. And . . . well . . . we know how it ended. sigh.
