Why I can never like Regina/the evil queen?

First things first Regina fans please do not attack me just read then comment as long as you want.

Believe it or not I don’t hate her for what she did for all the fairy tale characters or couples or even the curse I really don’t, I don’t hate her for doing the things that she did, I completely understand why she did them. The love of her life was killed by her own crazy, freak show mother because of the only friend she had and trusted (yes snow was very young, but she was also Regina counted on) to make things worse she couldn’t grieve for him because they were a secret she never really deal with her lose and to top it off she was forced to marry the man that started all (yes I know he didn’t do anything) but her (Regina) mother made snow lose control of the horse….. Because she wanted her daughter marry the king.

So even though I HATE HATE what she did to my favorite character and couples of the fairy tale land and the others who were just casualties of her revenge/justice I understand, I’m not saying they deserve what happened to them or justify it in anyway, but her silent pain just grow throughout the years until it consumed her completely and nothing mattered to her except spreading that pain to anyone.

Nonetheless, I can never ever forgive her for killing her own father because nothing is worth killing your own father for nothing, her father was the only one there for her no matter what, understood why she was doing all the things she was doing I mean for god sakes she trapped Jefferson/mad hatter in wonder land took him away from his daughter to get her father back only to kill him in the end really?? The whole point of her revenge/justice is because she lost someone she loved and her revenge cost her the only person left that she loved who loved her back. So was really worth it?? By killing her father it says that Daniel dead or alive is more important than her father’s life, I mean I’m all for getting revenge/justice but not if it means losing the only person left in my life who loved unconditionally for someone who already is dead.

Your article is very well written.

I don't like her either!

I'm shocked that most people think that just because I don't approve of her methods, because I don't like her personality (selfish&petty), it means that I don't find her necessary for the show. That's not the point! The point is that I can't relate to her at all. I find nothing to be liked in her.

I completely agree. Her reasons are justified and it did consume her to the point of wickedness, and I understand and pity her. But killing her father when all he ever did was love her just to get back at someone for slipping a secret, killing Graham all because she was mad at Emma, abandoning Jefferson in Wonderland to save her father only to end up killing him, sending countless children to a cannibal's house for an apple (when she could probably make another), enslaving the Huntsman because he didn't obey her request, lying to Rumpelstiltskin about Belle (I really don't see what that was even for, just to depress him?), absolutely everything she's done to Snow and Charming, and all the other countless things she did, none of it can be justified no matter what happened to her.

Even though Regina is one of my favorite characters and a legendary villian, I definitely see your point. I've never been one to argue that she's a good person, or that her actions are okay. I more just like her because she's scandalous and crazy interesting. I kind of model myself after her.
But I had some serious hate towards her after the Graham incident, and thought she was pure evil (which, lets face it, she kind of is.) after she killed her father.
Either way, I respect your opinion and stand by mine. Nice article. Hugs to you :)

Nice article but I like Regina, because she was still so nice before Daniel died.
