Superstar boy band are expected to give their friend a lift as he starts his career in the US
James Corden will be given the best chance of making his time on the Late Late Show a success with One Direction set to join him in 2015.
The British star is making his way to the States to take over the reins of the popular chat show in March, and his friends in the huge boy band are being lines up as guests to help him gain support early on.
According to the report, the Best Song Ever singers would likely appear on the show for free instead of demanding their usual $2 million fee.
The plan is said to be overseen by Ben Winston - a friend of James and a producer on the CBS show - who has worked with 1D on movies and videos in the past.
Meanwhile, The Wrong Mans comedian has admitted he is amongst the people confused by the decision to offer him the role as host, joking it\'s a "catastrophe waiting to happen" but wanting to do his best.
He recently told the Sunday People: "It was a big surprise to all of us – including me – when I was offered the job. I think it is a catastrophe waiting to happen but we will give it our best shot.
“I feel a bit conflicted – that is the best word to describe how I feel. I want to do it but fear it will be a disaster.”
