As the months passed, Jane's admiration for Kyle continued to grow. One day, Jane said, "Kyle, I have something to tell you." He said, "I have something to tell you, too, but I am willing to let you speak first." She said, "Thank you. I've been having these feelings for a while, and now I finally have the courage to say it. I love you, Kyle. I've loved you for the past couple of months." Kyle backed away. Jane was puzzled. "Kyle," she said, "what's wrong? Don't you love me, too?" He began slowly, "Jane, I...I love someone else." She cried, "What?!" He said, "I'm sorry. I thought you knew." She said, "It's Morgan, isn't it?!" He said, "Yes, it is. Paula said, "Then, you'll find someone else." Jane said, "There's nobody out there for me." Paula said, "Jane, look at me." Jane looked Paula in the eye. Paula said, "There is someone out there for you. He might come around when you're not even looking." This made Jane smile, but when she went home, she felt sad again.
