Here is the critique you requested:
Good points: Cute idea and expression. Very in character. And he is definitely wide enough.
What can be fixed: Proportions- the head area is a bit bulbous. Penguins tend to taper towards the head, private a little less, but they are wider at the bottom. HIs flippers are relatively correct in position but aren't nearly long enough. The beaks on the penguins are actually much larger than one would think, and the eyes tend to settle in the "dips" where the beak falls down between the eyes (not exactly there, a bit lower). The feet need to be a bit larger too, and depending on the position the legs are sometimes hidden by the belly. My suggestion is to print out pictures of the penguins and carry them around, and when you feel like drawing them, take it out and use it as a loose reference.
Let me know if you have any questions! :3
^ I had problems with them as well when I was preparing the tutorials. What I did was go to episodes with lots of running or walking around and paused it a bunch of times with their little penguin feet at different angles, it helped a ton!
I can see what you mean with the beak now, and how it's too small. I was looking at some picture of the penguins, and their beaks are much bigger than I had made them to be.
