I have a confession to make. When the Disney Studios had released the fourth movie in the "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN" franchise, I wished they had never done it. I wished that a fourth film had never been made. I also believed that the franchise was fine after three movies. Then I learned that a fifth film was scheduled to be released this summer and . . . yeah, I was not pleased by the news. But considering that I can be such a whore when it comes to summer blockbusters, I knew that I would be watching it.

Directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES" seemed to be a story about the search for the trident of the sea god Poseidon. Two years after the post-credit scene from 2007's "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END", Henry Turner, the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann Turner boards the Flying Dutchman to inform his father of his discovery that the mythical Trident of Poseidon is able to break the Flying Dutchman's curse and free him from his ship. Henry plans to seek Jack Sparrow's help to find it. Will does...

There have been a few rumours that Penelope Cruz will be returning to Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Men Tell No Tale. In Pirates 4 ,there seemed to be a little bit of romance between Jack Sparrow and Angelica , Penelope's character. I might be mistaken but do you think that something might happen between the two in the next film?

Also the same thing with Will and Elizabeth....I don't really care either way but will they stay in a relationship and will we get to see the supposed child that they had together in the scenes after credits?

Is 'On Stranger Tides' The Only & Last Adventure For Angelica?
Walt Disney Pictures decided to swap Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – the fifth installment in the theme park ride-based movie franchise headlined by Johnny Depp as the slippery scallywag Jack Sparrow – out from the Summer 2015 lineup this week (right after the studio repositioned Marvel’s Ant-Man to takes its place), rather than rush the swashbuckling blockbuster down the assembly line as fast as conceivably possible.

The Dead Men Tell No Tales script is still being written by Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hour 2 & 3), who took over from Pirates 1-4 co-writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio for the fifth installment. Directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) are sure to be changing, altering and/or deleting various elements from Nathanson’s original screen story with each subsequent script draft that he finishes hereon out; nonetheless, we have some rumored plot and character details to offer today, as a sneak peek at what the final product may (roughly) end up looking like.

I'm not mad I was born in Port Royal. Nor I'm mad that I basically don't have parents. What makes me furious is being a pirate! Mom and dad knew it, one false move and they'd end up getting a mini-pirate generation. But pirates be pirates and bam! Kate was born on July 10 in Port Royal. Nice place to live, right? Except the cleric likes to leave me no supper and no breakfast and i have to clean up the church, the stables and everything else for no pay! I hate them for leaving me here. Changng a daughter for rum is a cruel and despicable act, you know. Anyway, I think Jack heard my stomach, so at least I'll get something to eat.

Captain John Gulliver

Damn that son of a pirate! Not only is Jack a jail fugitive, now the boy wants to come back Stealing 3000 and a gold necklace is too much. I swear to god Jack Speck isnt even stepping jail territory...I'M GOING TO KILL HIM WITH MY OWN SWORD!!! Wait, where's my sword?...JACK SPECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do we love the characters of shows and series?
Well there are two reasons 1. Because the producer or the director was incredibly smart 2. Because the actor is too lovable and too good at what he or she does.
With Pirates of the Caribbean it is a little bit of both.
Take Jack Sparrow as an example, Jack is a rediculously hilarious hot pirate. If anyone else but Jonny Depp played that character, then Jack Sparrow would have basically flopped, because Jonny is so good at making that character coe to life. Also take in consideration of Will, he is an irresistibly hot and sexy pirate who is very funny. How does this character work? Orlando Bloom of course! Orlando is very good at every acting job he has had. Really think of it, what would POC be like if Jack Sparrow was played by George Clooney or if Will Turner was played by Justin Timberlake? There is only one answer disaster! The acing is too good. POC thatno one else can ply the characters!

Here is the official pirates of the caribbean prayer.

Our father who art in the Caribbean
Hallowed be thy name
Thy treasure will come
on earth as it is on the Black Pearl
give us our daily bottle of rum
and forgive us our drunkenness
as we forgive those who are always drunk
save us from the locker
and deliver us from the Royal Marine
for Jack, Barbarossa, Gibbs now and forever

When the Disney Studios and producer Jerry Bruckheimer had first released news of their intention to make sequels to their 2003 hit movie, "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Curse of the Black Pearl", I reacted to the news with a great deal of wariness. In fact, I was against the idea. But after seeing 2006's "Dead Man's Chest" and 2007's "At World's End", my opinion had changed. I ended up enjoying the two movies just as much as I had enjoyed "Curse of the Black Pearl" . . . especially the second film.

About two years after "At World's End" hit the theaters, the Disney people and Bruckheimer had released news of their intention to make a fourth film. Again, I expressed wariness at the idea. I thought the three movies released between 2003 and 2007 made a neat little trilogy. There was no need for a fourth movie. But Disney and Bruckheimer went ahead with their plans and a fourth movie was recently released. But unlike "Dead Man's Chest" and "At World's End", I found it difficult to enjoy "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: On Stranger Tides".

"PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: At World's End" (2007) Review

When I had first seen the trailer for the third installment of the "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN" franchise, I thought I was in for an overblown and possibly unentertaining movie. Quite frankly, the trailer did not impress me very much. And then word came out once the movie was released around May 24-25, 2007 that the movie was either confusing or not as good as the first two. I approached "AT WORLD’S END" with very low expectations. Thankfully, my expectations proved to be wrong.

Was "AT WORLD'S END" overblown? Yep. In fact, I can say the same about the first two movies. But at least the three movies were overblown in a manner that I found very enjoyable. And this third movie almost seemed to have an operatic quality about it. That operatic quality seemed to be focused around the movie’s two love stories – Will Turner/Elizabeth Swann (Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley) and Davy Jones/Tia Dalma aka Calypso (Bill Nighy and Naomie Harris). One would think that the saga’s main character – Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and his main nemesis Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) would be...

"PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Dead Man's Chest" (2006) Review

Not long ago, I had watched the second movie in the "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN" franchise for the umpteenth time, namely "Dead Man's Chest". First of all, I would like to say that originally, I had not been that keen on the idea of a sequel or two to "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Curse of the Black Pearl". I simply did not think that the 2003 movie needed a sequel. It had ended just fine, as far as I was concerned. And I suspect that many "POTC" fans still feel this way. In end, I am glad that Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski had went ahead and forged a trilogy out of the franchise. To my surprise, "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Dead Man's Chest" has become my favorite of the three movies. That said, here are my thoughts on the film.

*At first I had thought that the first movie was better. Which is not surprising to me. Sequels are rarely better than the first movie - with the STAR WARS, X-MEN and SPIDER-MAN franchises being the exceptions. But upon second viewing, I will add that DMC also became amongst the exceptions. In fact, I now have a higher opinion of this movie than I do of the 2003...

"PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Curse of the Black Pearl" (2003) Review

Eight years ago, "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Curse of the Black Pearl" had burst upon the movie screens and to the surprise of many, became a major hit. Even more surprising, the movie ended up spawning a wildly successful movie trilogy within another four years and also a new cinematic icon for the 21st century – Captain Jack Sparrow.

Judging from the forums and blogs on the Internet, it seems to me that ”Curse of the Black Pearl” is the most popular film in the ”PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN” franchise. In a way, I can understand. It lacked the darker aspects of the two sequels that followed. Directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, ”Curse of the Black” is based upon the attraction at the Disney parks. In it, the pirates of the ship known as the Black Pearl, led by the vile Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), need to restore the missing piece of the ancient Aztec gold treasure of Cortes and sacrifice the blood of "Bootstrap" Bill Turner to save themselves from eternal punishment owing to a curse that fell upon them when they stole the gold. The...

MoviesOnline sat down with Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Ian McShane, director Rob Marshall and producer Jerry Bruckheimer at a press conference in Los Angeles to talk about their new film. They told us how the storyline evolved and expanded to include new characters, what it was like shooting with a new director at the helm, and why they enjoyed being part of the next installment of the hugely successful Pirates franchise. Here’s what they had to say:

Q: How does it feel to be a part of this virtual Disneyland and live forever in the Pirates of the Caribbean?

Johnny Depp: Well, it’s pretty psychedelic, actually. I suppose you could make it even more psychedelic but we probably shouldn’t go into that now but, yeah, the idea of wandering through this ride and suddenly there you are three times, and Geoffrey’s similar experience there. He has to go in and see his head in there as well. It’s quite an honor in a weird way. It’s a great honor. Some sort of thing that you took part in creating becomes this forever sort of object.

This article was originally written, shortly after the release of "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: At World's End" in 2007:

Has anyone noticed something odd about the main characters in "POTC: At World's End"? Most or all of them either ended up with a less than happy ending or with their fates up in the air.

If one must be brutally honest, the trilogy's main characters had committed some kind of questionable act or one dangerous to others. Jack Sparrow was a pirate, who had no qualms about using others for his own personal gain. And that included bartering Will to Davy Jones in "Dead Man's Chest" in order to avoid paying his debt to Jones, lying to Elizabeth about it, and contemplating leaving the other pirates to the mercy of Lord Beckett and the East India Trading Company. Hector Barbossa, as we all know, was a murderous pirate who led a mutiny against Jack, threatened the lives of many and also double-crossed Tia Dalma by tossing her into the Black Pearl's brig in "At World's End". And then there is straight arrow Will Turner, who turned out to be not so straight arrow. He had left...

ok,so we've all heard of the rumors going around about the fourth pirates movie.well i'm comfirming all the rumors that have been surfacing over the past few months.
first rumor...Zac Efron is starring as Jack's nephew. nope, sorry.zacie poo is staying with HSM like a good boy.
second rumor....kiera knightly will NOT be starring as the beautiful elizabeth swann. unfortunatley this rumor is true.a new elizabeth swann will be taking over.
third rumor...Orlando Bloom will NOT be starring in Pirates...i'm sorry to say this...but this rumor is NOT yet confirmed.i'm still doing a lot of research to determine this. i've been digging up a lot of info...but the closest thing i got is that Orlando Bloom admitted that he was tired of playing in action packed, fantasy movies and that he wants to star in a serious movie for once.well thats all i got for now...i'll try to keep you updated on anything i hear.

One of my favorite things to do is compare celebrities, especially when they work together on a film. After a POTC marathon with my sister, we decided to see who could come up with the randomest facts about each of the three main actors: Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, and of course, Johnny Depp. Everyone knows that Johnny is the infamous Jack Sparrow, and that Keira's British accent is authentic, but exactly how detailed is your star knowledge? Read below and find out!

-For all you Jack/Elizabeth shippers, Depp and Knightley are over 20 years apart in age (22, to be exact). Eww! On the other hand, Bloom is only 8 years older than Keira. That's a more manageable age difference.

-Orlando is actually one inch taller than Johnny Depp.

-Depp is not only an actor, but a musician as well. Who knew?

-Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom were both born in England...Depp is the only one from the States!

-Although "Orlando Bloom" is Bloom's real name, he has not one but two middle names: Jonathan Blanchard. (For the record, Johnny's middle name is Christopher, and Keira's is Christina. Looks like Bloom is out of the loop on...

Time period:Janet is 7 years old and she is at an academy where young boys trained to be pirates

Janet's POV
[i]"Alright ye worthless sea dogs! You think you are worthy to be a pirate?"The commander yelled and the boys replied and I trembled as the older boys did drills."Now,we ave a special guest with us,the great Cap'n Jack Sparrow."The Commander stepped aside and a tall man with a red bandanna(i think) on his head stepped forward and scanned the boys around me.He began speaking but I didn't really feel like listening.I was to worried that a boy would knock my hat off. Then the boys began to run in one direction towards the cabins we had to stay at.I was left behind with another person holding on to their hat too.I began walking to the cabin until someone grabbed my shoulder.I gasped and turned around to see Captain Jack Sparrow holding my shoulder and the other boy's. "Can you spare a moment?"He asked and I nodded and leaded us to the docks.

Sorry pretty short

"Man the sails,"Jack commanded as the sea grew more erratic.Elizabeth and Will were in a cabin with their young 3month year child. "Hello,Janet!"Will smiled as she cooed nibbling on his hat."You know dear we have to let her choose her life, either a pirate or governor, correct?"Elizabeth stated as Will ignored her and played with Janet. Then a crash happened and the boat shook and Jack busted in and yelled,"THE BOAT IS HIT!!!TAKE THE LASS AND GET OFF THIS BOAT!!!" Will and Elizabeth curried to a boat and another crack was heard and Janet fell out of Will's arms. "JANET!!!!"Was heard as she rolled and stopped and cooed and giggled holding on to her father's hat.Elizabeth grabbed Janet and knew she had no choice but to save her daughter while she had the chance. She dropped in to basket and shaded her from the rain and kissed her goodbye as she drifted away from the burning ship."Mama....papa....pirates...for mum and dad,"Janet said as she held her hat and sailed to the direction of Port Royal.

Everything was darkness. Jack lay on the ground waiting for something to happen, anything. Where was he? perhaps he had gotten too drunk again and fallen in another barrel like last time. Gibbs would wake him up any minute now, although last time it had taken him hours to find him, and even more to get Jack back to the ship. That would explain the lack of breeze where he lay, but why was there no noise than? had he gone deaf? He tried to remember what he had done the night before...no, not the night, the day. It all hit Jack suddenly, Elizabeth, the handcuffs...the kraken. He sat up quickly and looked around. So he had finally died, no, worse than died, he was in Davy Jones'locker.
'Well, great' thought Jack 'What have we to learn now?oh, of course, never trust woman'. He got up and took a look around. Well, at least he was in a familiar place. He was aboard the Black Pearl He had seen the damage done to the Black Pearl, a damage that would have left any ship in splinters, yet here she stood, tall and proud and with only the usual scratches that the crew had already made. Why, he could just sail away and leave Davy Jone's Locker with her! Except,he...

1. The title of the original Pirates movie was just Pirates Of The Caribbean but the name was changed to Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl in case it did well enough at the box office to merit a sequel.

2. The second and third Pirates Of The Caribbean movies (Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End) were shot back-to-back.

3. The whole series is inspired by a popular Walt Disney theme park ride of the same name.

4. Filming for At World’s End started without a finished script.

5. Johnny Depp based the character of Captain Jack Sparrow on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

6. Having been unable to appear in Dead Man’s Chest due to touring commitments Keith Richards finally gets his cameo in At World’s End as Jack Sparrow's father.

7. The first cut of At World’s End was over 3 hours long.

8. The initial concept of At World’s End’s grand finale of two ships battling in a whirlpool was drawn on a napkin.
