Pizza was originally made as a food for the poor. It still is a great value, even if it's more upper class.

How much do you spend on food everyday? If you eat out cheaply, you pretty much have to spend about $5 per meal; think macdonalds, a sandwich, halal food. Pizza seems the same way, no? In fact, Pizza can be cheaper than groceries!

Think about it. If you're a bachelor, if you order a pizza, it's worth four meals (2 slices a meal). Josephine's large pie is 9.99. That's 2.50 a meal. If you buy your own bread and coldcuts and swiss cheese, it will come to 2.50 a meal. A single small package of broccoli is 1.99.

A family of four can eat for a night for $10.

This is not to say that pizza is cheapier than buying in bulk all the time. But if you're going to skip cooking, and doing dishes, and ending infighting in the family, you can certainly do worse than pizza. As I wrote about earlier, Pizza is a wholesome food, so there's no guilt in that department.

Manny and “The Pizza Butler™”

Six years ago my family and I moved to Tampa, Florida where for the first time in my
life, I got involved in the restaurant business. As the owner of an extremely well
known and popular 80‐seat restaurant called Formaggios Pizzeria Restaurant, I
quickly realized that owning a restaurant was a 24‐hour, 7‐day‐a‐week business that
demanded tremendous attention.
One Sunday evening at Formaggios I saw one of my waiters struggling to balance an
18” pie with one hand while trying to reposition items on the dinner table with his
other so that the additional pie would fit. I have 42” square tables yet my wait staff
still had difficulty finding room for two pies on the table. This was a regular
occurrence.
That particular day while watching my waiters jockey for table space, I was struck
with an idea for a space‐saving tray. It was a vision I knew I could produce back in
New York at my business, Hi‐Tech Metals, which manufactures high‐end metals. So I

29 Annoying Ways to Order a Pizza

1. Start the conversation with "My call to (Pizza Place), take one... and... ACTION!"

2. If using a touch-tone phone, press random numbers while ordering. Tell the person taking the order, "would you please stop doing that...?"

3. Terminate the call with, "Remember, we never had this conversation."

4. Do not name your toppings; rather, spell them out.

5. Ask what the order taker is wearing.

6. Order 52 pepperoni slices arranged in a fractal pattern following from an equation you are about to dictate. Ask if they're getting all of this down.

7. If they repeat the order to verify it, say "OK. Your total comes to $10.99. Please pull up to the window."

8. Ask if you get to keep the pizza box. When they say "Yes," heave a sigh of relief.

9. Put the accent on the last syllable of "pepperoni," using a long "i" sound.
