Poetry Question

what is your favourite poem of all time and why?

*
my favourite has to be IF by Rudyard Kipling it's just so lovely and inspiring and also sad because he wrote this 12 ears before his son was born his son and his son jack died in WW1. i also like the poem My Boy Jack but this was written a few weeks after his sons death for which kipling felt responsible for urging jack to enlist, so it is far more upsetting

The Voice, by Thomas Hardy. I just like the way he wrote it and the 'story' behind it. First one one I ever studied.

Robert Louis Stevenson's The Lamp Lighter and Ducks Ditty by Kenneth Graham. Both remind me of times gone by and childhood memories when everything in the world was good and nothing was wrong and when days lasted forever.
