That's right, I'm talking about genwunners. As you may know, genwunners are people that only like the original 150 Pokemon like Pikachu and forget the whole franchise in general like Hoenn Pokemon. Genwunners are mostly people who gets to be part of the Pokemon fad during 1998-2000 and then people like kids stopped liking Pokemon by the end of 2000. You know, Pokemon peaked in 1999 in the US before the Pokemon fad died out by mid 2000 before Pokemon Gold and Silver came out in the US. I'm a huge longtime fan since 1999 and I will always love a majority of Pokemon. Why? Because Pokemon is a great way to change my life since 1999 and my interest is going strong today. But the way genwunners and the mindset of "Pokemon is just a fad" feel is what hurting the franchise after 2001, not the medium. Duh.
Here's how it goes: after Pokemon fad peaked in 1999, Pokemon began to decreasing the popularity by 2001 as 2001, ingeniously, is the peak of Pokemon's greatness. By 2002, Pokemon has faded into obscurity and the only way is Japan. You have to use Japan to appeal Pokemon like main series Pokemon games and Pokemon movies. This caused Japan turning Pokemon into an anime & manga franchise. Now, what can Pokemon go wrong? People in the US like kids have moved on from Pokemon since 2002 causing people in the US shifted towards mainstream repeats like Marvel, Call Of Duty, SpongeBob SquarePants and CGI movies like Kung Fu Panda. I'll tell you what going on in the Pokemon franchise outside of Japan.
It was the infamous genwunners who screwed over the whole franchise from 2002 onwards like Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Not only that, genwunners keeps saying negative comments towards Pokemon since 2002. Just listen.
Genwunner: I only like the original 151 Pokemon because they never make games as good as the originals.
See? If there aren't any genwunners today, then I assume that the Pokemon franchise is safe. Let's move on.
Genwunner: I hate the new Pokemon. I hate today's Pokemon like Pokemon X and Y. Whatever happened to the original 150 Pokemon like Charizard? Today's Pokemon like Pokemon Black and White is so unoriginal.
Of course, I'm talking about the Pokemon designs. It's true that some Pokemon like Trubbish and Vanillite has either bad designs or poor names like Sawk which screwed up some Unova Pokemon like Electross. Kanto Pokemon like Krabby has simple designs. Example: a yuck Pokemon (Grimer), a boxer (Hitmonchan), a mouse (Pikachu), a snake (Ekans), a kick butt orange fire dragon (Charizard) a crab (Krabby) and of course, an upside down PokeBall (Voltorb). There, happy? Good grief. Let's get ugly.
Genwunner: What is this? A stupid new design that is a Pidgey ripoff or a lame ice cream cone. There's also a garbage Pokemon. They're really running out of ideas.
People like boys keeps saying the same thing since the last 13 years or so. What's the point? Blame genwunners for messing up the whole franchise after the 8-bit era. Let's continue.
Genwunner: How many Pokemon games do we need today? Let's see: Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, HeartGold SoulSilver, Black, White, X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire. There's so many Pokemon games these days. Not to mention these awful Pokemon spin-offs like Pokemon Rumble Blast. I hate Pokemon games from Ruby and Sapphire through today. I miss the old Pokemon games like Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Stadium.
I do agree that many Pokemon spin-offs like Pokemon Battle Revolution started to get mediocre to really bad. However, if you think there's too many main series Pokemon games like Pokemon Emerald and there's like 718 Pokemon, then why do you think you only need nostalgia and not understanding the basic contempt of playing Pokemon games like Pokemon Platinum?
Genwunner: I can't keep with all the new Pokemon. There's way too many new Pokemon these days. I mean, Mega Evolution? Mega Evolution is ruining my childhood.
Dude, Mega Evolutions is part of Pokemon X/Y/Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Mega Evolution is very important to sixth generation. If you think you call Mega Evolutions running out of ideas, I hope you're happy.
Genwunner: Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow will always be the best. I miss playing Pokemon games on the Gameboy. So much better than crap we had like Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. No one will beat the original 150 Pokemon.
If you think the original 150 Pokemon is better than Pokemon we have today like Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver and why you think you hate new designs like Klefki and new ideas like Mega Evolutions, then it's just Pokemon. You don't have to enjoy it. For the love of Pokeballs, if genwunners keep showing up and bash all the future Pokemon games, then I'm afraid Pokemon will go bankrupt and it's all genwunners' fault.
Genwunner: It's the same Pokemon game. Do we need another Pokemon game like Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? Pokemon hasn't been changed since the Gameboy days.
Look, Pokemon gets to try something new. The formula is still the same doesn't mean you avoid it. Generation 2 has day and night along with eggs and adding Dark and Steel, generation 3 has abilities and Pokemon contests while generation 4 introduced physical and special split as well as online. Generation 5 makes TMs reusable and generation 6 introduce the Fairy type and Mega Evolutions. There, happy now? Good grief.
You know something? I never like genwunners. I never will. Genwunners makes me wanna puke. I will never trust genwunners again. Curse you, genwunners.
