I snuck behind a tree, close enough to listen to the exchange between Alec and the shady characters.
"Hmmph. So you're Alec, the famous Ranger of Canndon? You don't look so tough, truly. But I won't underestimate you, I've heard too much about you," the woman in neon green examined. "I'm Stormy, one of the top Admins of Team DareDevil," she introduced herself, smiling evilly.
"What is it you want here?!?!?!" Alec shouted menacingly.
"Well, we were looking for Zekrom, who is said to live on...wait, why am I telling you these things?!?! Garchomp, get rid of this pest!" she cried, forcing a Garchomp with dark red eyes to attack him. He started whirling his Styler, and with a bit of effort, and a few scratches and scrapes, he befriended the Garchomp. Garchomp's eyes returned to normal, and it fled the scene, Stormy scowling in response.
"You are as strong as they say..." she muttered, as she mounted a hypnotized Rapidash. "Until we meet again..." she whispered. She spotted me, glaring in my direction. I backed up a little, as she rode off on Rapidash.
Alec sharply turned the corner, only to find me, curled up in a ball behind a bush. He smirked, as I stood up and dusted myself off. His smirk quickly faded.
"What would they want with Zekrom..." he thought aloud.
"I was wondering the same thing..." I commented, looking at the ground. I pulled out one of my Poke Balls, and released Dodrio. "I'll race ya back to Cloverbush!"
He called a Dodrio with one of his special signs. "You're on."
We were neck and neck for a while, but my Dodrio easily beat him. I'd trained him well.
"So, you're a Trainer, Gina?" he asked, his eyes glimmering with curiosity.
I nodded. "My Pokemon are Dodrio, Lopunny, Growlithe, and of course my lovely Leafeon." As I said this, Leafeon came running out the door, and was suddenly cuddling my foot. I smiled, amused.
"Do you have any badges?" he questioned me.
"What is this, an interview or something?" I giggled. "Yes, I have one. I pulled my Trainer Case out of my pocket, opening it. "It's from Alice, in Moonstar City. But I've never been past there," I replied.
"Well, would you like to go past Moonstar?" he asked.
"I mean, of course I would..." I sighed.
"Then go ask your mom," he suggested.
I whirled around and jogged to my house. He followed at a leisurely pace behind me. My mom stepped out of the house, causing me to bump into her.
"Oops! Sorry, mom..." I apologized.
"It's alright. What did you need?" she asked.
"I was wondering... if I could go traveling with Alec." There was a pause. "To collect badges, of course," I added.
"Well, of course you can!" she allowed, stepping back inside, then tossing me my backpack. "I trust you, you'll be with a Ranger!"
I groaned slightly, a bit embarrassed, but then smiled widely. "Thanks, mom!" I called, before running off.
We both boarded a Staraptor, and hit the skies. We flew for about ten minutes before we could see Skydream Town.
"Do you want to challenge the gym here?" he asked patiently.
"Nah, I'll challenge Dominick later. He has a type advantage," I explained.
We flew over Tenderleaf City, and I saw a crowd of people similar to the ones in Moonstar City. Alec glanced over at me, then descended though the clouds.
How big is this group of DareDevils?!?!?!
Note: I do NOT, in any way, own Pokemon or Pokemon Ranger.
