I think they played that scene out well. Even though it was proper not to kiss you could tell they wanted to and that's what made it even more so romantic I think . :D

The first proposal? In the rain? It wouldn't make any sense for them to kiss there. The whole point of it was the tension.

I actually thought tha even showing that they wanted to kiss was too much. Lizzy can't stand Darcy at this point, it's not just unresolved tension.

I picked no not because the movie would be to short but because it wasn't in the book?! Elizabeth hated him at the time.. It would have been stupid to stick a kiss in the middle of their fighting.

The emotion was better than if they would have actually kissed. xo

It's not really necessary to follow the book in every step. But it's a good thing they have followed the book in this part because it would make no sense for them to kiss.
However, it was SO CLEAR they wanted to, and that's what I really liked about the movie. You could clearly feel the tension, the unwilling wanting, the heat building up...and yet they couldn't because Elizabeth despised him and Darcy felt hurt because of her rejection...
So yeah, I think it's good they haven't kissed and I find it even better that they almost kissed...
Aaa, I love the movie...

I know that something like that wouldn't have happened in that time period, but if it did happen in the movie, which I was hoping it would, it would have been.... I'm not quite sure how to explain, but it would have been great. But, as I read some of the comments, it was better to leave it as it is in the movie. I also think it was brilliant what they did; the almost kiss.... it adds emotion and wanting. It shows that they love each other, but they won't necessarily show it... I don't know how to explain, but you know what I mean?

But, it would have been great if it did happen!

Any other way, this movie is still, in my opinion, perfect!

not exactly that it "wasnt proper before marriage" but more that, she didn't love him at that moment! and even tho the feelings were clearly There, it had awesome tension to have him wanting to kiss her and her almost daring him to.
