Introduction...

In Earth, seeing a dragon is rare. In fact, seeing any mythical creature is considered almost impossible. However, things may be different elsewhere.
Many planets are similar to Earth, some even identical. Hilenster is included. The only difference between Hilenster and Earth is magic. Mythical creatures, magic users, magical items, enchanted forests, you name it. Every living thing has magic within them, it is their choice whether they want to use it or not.

About the story...

This story takes place in the dragon territory of the Western Kingdom, Krosscrof. Surrounded by massive, enchanted forests, which are also considered the dragons' property, Krosscrof is a magnificent place full of mountains, lakes, rivers and, of course, dragons.

Each dragon is different, unique. They kids may resemble their parents, but they will definitely have something different. All Krosscrof dragons, though, have one common thing. Whether it's red, blue, purple, green, yellow, black or white, they can all use fire.
Not every flame has the same effects, though. Red Fire can burn anything that is in its way. Blue Fire can be as cold as ice. Purple Fire is deadly poisonous. Green Fire is capable of putting the victim into deep sleep. Yellow Fire can be electrifying. White Fire is said to be able to purify, although it is so rare that no one knows all of its effects. Black Fire is even rarer, and mostly dark dragons are able to use it.

In Krosscrof, there are many events going on all the year. In Spring, there is the Breeding Season, which is when many dragons are born. Summer is when parents celebrate the birth of their children. The Haunting Season takes place in Autumn, when the dragons soar through the forests looking for food to store in order to survive the Winter. The most popular among the youngsters, though, is the event that takes place in Winter, also known as Shades of Fire.
The Shades of Fire is partially a tournament which takes place in the mountains of Krosscrof. The dragons compete and fight with each other using magic or their Fire. The purpose of this tournament is to find out which dragons are the strongest so that they can protect the territory when necessary. For the youngsters, though, it is a contest to see who will be the ones to brag until the next Shades of Fire.


The Winter has arrived, and the older dragons of Krosscrof have already started the preparations for this year's Shades of Fire. The youngsters willing to participate are training more than ever, often watched by worried parents. Little did the dragons know, that this year's tournament would be like no other...
