They never said that to me. My parents always explained why and what. Unless I was winning the argument, they said; "I'm the parent and you are the child. If you want to boss someone in the house around, wait until you have a family on your own!"

My mom doesn't have her saying, but when she wants me to do something, she just has to look at me and I feel like she's throwing a rope around my throat and tugs me over to (for example) my room to clean it. Even when I'm not looking at her I feel her look... x3

I break the laptop. Mom yells at me. She grounds me. I say, "Why?" She says, "Because I said so!"

Scenario 2:
I stay out later than usual. Dad yells at me. He tells me I'm grounded. I say, "Why?" He says, "Because I said so!"

Scenario 3:
I don't do my homework. Parents yell at me. They ground me. I say, "Why?" They say, "Because we said so!"

Now it's my turn:
Parents argue with me. I tell them that I'm right. They ask, "And why is that?" I say, "Because I said so."

Mom always said. "To make you ask questions."

ever one of my teachers have said this to me."How can someone so quiet be so annoying?!?!" i just say its a talent. i know you asked about parents but mine never remember im alive half the time.

My mom just gives me "The Look" when we do something bad. You do not argue with "The Look", let me tell ya.

Not so much anymore, but when I was younger, yes, all the time. =)

I would usually ask questions though until they said it just to shut me up. It was fun.

Mom: Don't touch the stove.
Me: Why?
Mom: Because it's hot.
Me: Why?
Mom: Because it just is.
Me: Why?
Mom: Because I was using it.
Me: Why?
Mom: Because I was cooking dinner.
Me: Why?
Mom: So you can eat.
Me: Why?
Mom: Because you need to eat?
Me: Why?
Mom: Because I said so.

Actually the conversations were generally much longer, with her telling me exactly why I needed to eat and me wanting to know why and on like that until she finally cried "Because I Said So", but I abbreviated it. =)
